We already knew that? Supes slices a steel girder in half when Zod swings one at him during the fight

It's not so far off from how Justice League: Unlimited handled him where
Doomsday is created from Superman's DNA by the government, mutated, and conditioned to completely hate Superman.

It's also how
Luthor made the New 52, pre-Convergence, Bizarro. It was a failed Superman clone.
Given that the military is wary of Superman and aliens and Lex is involved, plus that shot of Zod's body in the trailer, that has to be the route they're going

Pretty much. What was the joke?

if it was a bad movie maybe it would garner as much attention as MOS has. Strange it hasn't, does the movie have issues? Sure it does, all movies do. Do those issues scream so loudly that they completely over shadow the entire movie? No, not by along shot. All you ever hear as a complaint is AOU sucks. Real in depth criticism there. Quips!!!! Oh no! Jokes!!! This movie sucks.

MOS, TDKR have endless complaints from people. You know why? Because the scripts are terrible and even worse they are executed poorly.

I get move excited for Marvel movies for sure and I probably give them a bit more leeway. I've made my negative thoughts on Thor2 known. Thor is my all time favourite superhero so their is no blind fanboy ism on my part. Captain America is my 2nd, I've got plenty of issues with his first movie. If I as a fan can find fault with my two favourite characters movies why can't some of you DC fanboys admit that maybe Nolan phoned in TDKR or Snyder/Goyer dropped the ball with MOS? That's Blind Fanboyism there.

This trailer looks great and I hope beyond hope that it's a fucking thrill ride.
TDKR script is still better than every generic shit that comes out of every Marvel movie (bar two). Marvel movies are fun, but those movies all fall into formulaic shite. Watching Avengers for the second time convinced me that their flaws pretty much jump all in your face when you're not seeing it on theaters with cool explosions everywhere to divert your attention, something a certain director is shit on constantly for doing a similar thing but slightly worse. The only exceptions are Winter Soldier and Ironman 1, the former having some depth that is connected to the real world which made really engaging. Ironman 3 tried to to take that angle but it's hard to take it seriously with that ending, be it the villain or fireworks battle.

I rate MoS in a similar 7.5 rating that several Marvel movies fall into, but all for different reasons. MoS had some really dumb script decisions that held back from being being a lot better, easy things. As well as the non stop action fapping at the end that had no semblance of build up just boom boom boom.

No, everything has to somehow trace back to Jason Todd and the Red Hood somehow, because he has, sometime in the last 5 years, become the archnemesis for Batman.
It seems like sarcasm and I hope so. But I also get the niggling feeling you're being serious.

It'll do a bill hopefully, probably not insane numbers. Its aiming at an older demographic here than the usual big hitters (the trailer is dark, lots of fighting/criminals being branded). I could see parents thinking its too scary for younger kids. But if Furious 7 can make it to number 3, anythings possible.
A bill is not insane numbers? -_- I think it will make that if the movie is not terrible, but that is still super impressive.

People rag on MoS for having a bad story but is that really all on Snyder? Goyer and Nolan came up with the story and Goyer wrote the screenplay. This time around we have Snyder's amazing visuals coupled with Terrio's screenplay and a good cast of main and supporting actors. From everything we've seen so far, there's no reason to think it's going to be a bad movie.

I think if it's even just a "good" movie, it'll come close to the billion mark because it's Batman AND Superman in one movie. Not only that, but they're fighting each other. Even cursory fans have got to be excited to see the two most iconic comic-book characters of all time on screen together for the first time. And you have to factor in China. Their box office impact in 2013 was a far cry from what it is today and in 2016.

There's been a lot of talk about how "bloated" the movie is because of the holy trinity plus Lex plus presumably another big bad the trinity have to fight plus the rumoured Justice League members being in the movie, but it's all in how they're utilized. There are plenty of movies with a huge cast of characters, Avengers being one of the more recent ones. Yes, they all had solo movies to setup their team up but the way the movie was setup, I could have skipped all of them and just jumped right into Avengers without a problem.

That sounds awful, hope they don't go that route. I like the original Doomsday origin a lot better that that nonsense.

But he's right, you see Superman's heat vision melt a steel beam in Man of Steel. I don't know what you're getting at.

If you're talking about the building Zod and Superman were in collapsing that was thermite paint, not the heat vision.
I you listen very closely you can also hear Bruce Wayne say "Pull it"

Just to clarify.

Possible plot points in BvS

- Fallout from MoS, Supes on trial
- Angry Batman
- Luthor sweet talking his way to manipulate Supes
- Zod/
Doomsday
- WW plot
- Batman vs Superman (city on fire?)

Plus the rumored cameo of Flash and Aquaman.

How long is this movie going to be?

If this doesn't make 1 billion the next time you'll see Zack Snyder he'll be making your sandwich at Subway.

He'd have to fuck something up royally. This is Batman v Superman. This isn't like the Avengers where you need to long sell; seeing the logo will get people into cinemas.

I don't see this making 1 billion...maybe somewhere around 800-950.

The public's perception of Superman is still jaded.

Now, if BvS turns out to be a great movie and sets the foundation, then Wonder Woman and JLA will easily do 1 Billion

Act 1: the trial of superman , intro to batman, ww and Luther
Act 2: batman v superman
Act 3: batman, superman, ww, flash and aquaman vs
Doomsday

Ending : the creation of the justice league

Part of me hopes that BvS starts off like The Two Towers and it starts right as Superman and Zod are fighting. It opens with Bruce walking down the street and then he hears the fight and walks around the corner and sees them fighting and then runs down the street.

Of course in reality this is probably just a flash back.

We absolutely can, and certainly should. But calling every MCU film "shit" (save for two) is not only inaccurate, it's not constructive to the conversation.
Generic shit script, most of their movies are really generic and follow the same formula. The movies are still fun regardless of script. I rank most of their movies in the 7-7.5, bar very few that are slightly under or higher. None of them are as bad as Batman and Robin or Green Latern though. :D

I feel like it will be the opening scene. Bruce looking up, amongst the rubble, with the little girl seems like that kind of shot. Then, bam, we have people talking about the Metropolis destruction. Superman going to court.

Seems like a good way of setting up the catalyst for the conflict in this movie upfront.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't the opening scene. It's a really good idea too; like you say, going for that Two Towers vibe.

Lex being portrayed as a paul revere rings true with his statement about Devils dont come from underneath but from the sky and maybe that scene with Kryptonite is his intellect creating the kryptonite as a way to weaken superman
In the trailer you can see a shot of someone swimming underwater toward a rock / chunk of kryptonite. That tells me he found it. But he'll most definitely weaponise it.

I think it's going to be in the 2:30 to 2:45 range. The flash cameo is going to be tops 30 seconds probably. Aquaman is rumored to have a scene or two, but nothing substantial.

I bet it does. Mystery is who Bruce is on the phone with and if he or she in the building.

I'm assuming it's just to prevent Cavill from looking worse than everybody. Like a pro-wrestler who looks cool but can't wrestle worth a damn, so you emphasize the guys better at their job.

That's all Batman does. And yet they call Superman the boring one.

I think a lot of the people who view Superman as boring still have the image of him being an american invincible super hero.

Writers fucked him up so much and even though he isn't that anymore, most people still have the image of that.
