Fighting Games Weekly | July 13-19 | Stream Monster Yearly: Evolution 2015

loke test happening already?

Not yet. I'm just hearing some reports on it, might be translations of some sites. So I'm just waiting on confirmation and such.

Loketest starts on the 18th. I wish it was at Evo. I'd take this over a hypothetical Revelator station at Evo in a heartbeat LOL

Same I enjoy BB a lot more than GG

Sayah, so you know of any AI exploits or issues in TTT2? Ditto for anyone else that knows of one.

Example: MvC3 AI never ever blocks Foot Dive or Sentinel c.M.

None that I know of. Though, I haven't played against AI that much. Most of my vs. time goes to ranked matches or player matches against human opponents.

Sure. Putting looks aside, I've always been a fan of the Vewlix layout (first two buttons closer to the stick), it's fairly easy to swap buttons out on it, and I'm a big fan of the Hayabusa lever, which I would compare to a smoother Sanwa JLF.

The Kuro buttons, on the other hand, are hit and miss for people. Some have buttons that squeak or aren't as sensitive as sanwas, or they're not clicky, etc. They did not feel as sensitive as sanwa buttons to me and I had a harder time doing certain things (like kara demon with E.Ryu), so I swapped them out... that's it, though. Perfect stick for me.

notworksafe did a pretty good analysis of it. Some of it is genuinely hard to explain.

Possible downside - examine the wrist area of it. There's not much to it. If you're used to resting your palms and wrists under the buttons on the base of the stick, this might not work out for you unless you can adjust to how it's shaped.
If the wrist area is the same as the HRAP V3 SA, I am fine with it. Thanks for all the feedback, guys!

Ah. K.

Went to look for new BB version news, stumbled into random fighting game discussion. Amusing.

there is that bunch of oddball characters that are present in the game but almost nobody ever uses, which means you can never really learn to fight them...I imagine the same would happen if I picked up USFIV now and wanted to learn to deal with El Fuerte...

Tekken AI is free to Jump > slightly delayed j.RK, always have been, since T3, especially against the bosses.

Not as free as MvC3 AI trying to block She Hulk's dash grab or Firebrand's raw unblockable though.

Interesting. I didn't know that.
I think I went through arcade mode a grand total of two times in the three years I've had TTT2. Still haven't played through Fight Lab either. lol.

All my time is in practice mode or vs. battles.

Better character diversity in playstyles, better paced footsies and neutral game, Better burst system, better more diverse oki set ups, no bullshit yrc, barrier not tied to super bar but with strict overuse penalty, combos look nicer.

A few characters in GG are still awesome on the last bit.

This is also all my opinion

I feel like BB has a lot of stuff underneath that the majority of players don't notice for the oki game (as well as other parts). I feel like it's misrepresented so much lol
Rolls aren't free, you can even OS against them people.

As for me, I love both games now. GG feels better for me and I'm better at it than BB, but BB's really fun.
I'm just so burned out from BBCP since 1.1 that I'm ready for the new one.

what's up with the brazillian cpt premier tournament?
Capcom Fighters ‏@CapcomFighters 1m
We heard the community feedback about the format of CPT Brazil. We want it to be the best event for everyone. Stay tuned for more details.

Pretty much, it feels kinda lame when the only thing I have to worry about is a wake up dp or super. Some of the resets in BB were fun as hell too.

Though gg does have resets itself, they don't really flow the same xD

As someone who is garbage at fighting games, and barely gave any time to either.

GG's shorter simple combos make things feel easier and more approachable. On the other hand the older more severe design of totally different wake up timings, weight classes effecting juggle and combo strings, having to mash to tech, mash to get out of stagger and other wackiness make the game much more difficult to play.

Still I didn't actually get the concept of joke/neta combos until playing GG and then going back to BB. Then I noticed how overly long and complex they are in comparison, GG feels more about the right length.

The tourney organizers recently changed the format of the Brazilian Game Show tournament to separate the main tournament to play a week earlier and have top 8 played at a later date.

The change was seen as a way to favor local talent in Brazil over foreign players.
The magic 8 ball said I can beat Mike Ross so tonight's the night. When's Pro Talk?
7pm PST. They will talk for a half a hour, then start playing viewers.

So at Evo I'm going to sit down with Combofiend and Matt D to talk about SFV.

I'll be taking a couple of /gameplay/ related questions from here to ask Peter.

So uh throw some stuff out there.

Why are people wanting to uninstall flash?

People have for a long time due to security exploits + really annoying installs.

After this weekend I'm uninstalling it. Need it for EVO unfortunately.

That's why epsorts geting into the fgc is stupid. The FGC needs it's own set of sponsors.

If SFV's PC port is good, I can see PC esports trying to get serious about the FGC again, which I don't see as a bad thing at all.

When twitch switches to HTML5 it means I will no longer have to deal with VODs crashing my browser or not loading properly. Thank god.
