Shit never looked great. By the time it was somewhat decent everyone had already dropped it.
Smash.gg has now created a fantasy draft manager where you can create your own fantasy draft (for Melee). Could be a fun thing to do if you want to see how off and/or spot-on your predictions come out compared to others. You can also win something if you reach the top 20.

Super late but 3SO is fine. Some like fightcade cause it's free, some like 3so cause connections are typically better and more consistent. xbl 3so though. psn players are generally bad/ragequitters, and have awful connections. Darkstalkers Resurrection is also based on the japan only ps2 port, but I'm guessing it's more faithful since that port was emulated. xbl Resurrection is completely dead, but on psn you'll find a small community, and japanese players are pretty cool, so if you meet some somewhere else they might add you and play, given your connection isn't cheeks.

3SO is fine as long as you don't go in expecting it to be the arcade version as shown by this comparison that was posted here last week. There might be dozens of tiny differences between the arcade version and the 3SO/PS2 version and thanks to Capcom, we'll never know them.

Nah, SFxT always looked terrible. SFV looks good. You can bank on it being a solid fighter.

Not good-good, but it can be acceptable, unless you live in alaska or hawaii. Some friendly japanese players here and there will play westerners on fightcade, and really late at night some japanese player might hop into your 3so lobby and play a few (usually laggy) matches, so i imagine the courtesy might be extended on ps3 darkstalkers, especially if you know them a bit.
eh, nobody is expecting cps3 quality from anywhere, be it ggpo or oe. hell, most players probably haven't played on arcade hardware. the inaccuracies won't matter to the vast majority of players.

I would consider game speed difference and input lag as inaccuracies, which ggpo and 3sOE suffers from but 3sOE also have game play differences too.
But you're right the vast majority of 3s player won't care about those.

Before release, everybody was excited for sfxt and it was going to be the "big thing". Then the drama started and people played it and we know the rest.
But it was actually a really hyped game. Remember the first glorious week? Remember the WNF where they played teams and it was the "best thing ever?"
SF5 is still not past that point. It has a long time to go.

No you don't. Livestreamer + VLC or Media Player Classic works just fine and uses less resources. If you need twitch chat, you can chat via IRC.

I don't follow competitive smash much and for some reason this news went completed by me. Can someone please explain why anyone thought it would be a good idea to allow customs on Smash 4 at EVO? It seems the majority of players are against it and it's going to encourage some broken stuff.

I have heard that the Dreamcast conversion, while still inaccurate, is more similar to the arcade release of 3S than 3SO (input lag aside I guess, given the SRK statistics you've posted)
