Street Fighter V Roster Discussion: P-P-P-P-PATTERN BREAKER

I would love to see Sakura in the initial rosters and Akuma as special boss fight that you can't play as yet.

i forgot how but getting to Shin Akuma fight scene in Alpha always felt really special.

Also, would someone please emulate VF4: Evolution already! It was only perhaps, one of the greatest SP fighting experiences of all time!

Bring back Hakan.
my Fav. SF character and grappler.
His V-Trigger can be him oiling up for a longer period of time.

Wow, interesting, thanks. I didn't know that and always thought this was a KOF/Ryuko/Garou kinda situation. Is there a site/wiki where you guys go for this kind of info on SF lore and canon ?

The only game that's connected to SF is Final Fight.

And Captain Commando is in the far distant future of Metro City. He also uses far more advanced equipment of what C. Viper uses.
So they say. :P That deep lore.

Will the world stop when urien is announced? Will they be stunned for so long, urien will pile drive everything before they react

The world couldn't handle the loincloth in 3D.

Odd, this image seems to be made just to show 8 characters (there's no streams at the top or anything for people in a back row.) I wonder if that has some special relevance.

Was this already pointed out?

Yeah I noticed that. I don't like the idea of Aztec statues and design in the New Zealand stage. If it's New Zealand, respect the natives' warrior culture and design. If it's not New Zealand, lose the takahe, kakapo and tuatara. Dammit Capcom.

Jokes. I'm just gutted Necalli isn't Maori, 'cause I am. *sigh*

At any rate, I don't care a lot about Sakura. I like her, but I don't play shoto, so her design is not a big deal to me.

Yeah, I'm not that fond of her playstyle and the novelty of her character wore off quite a bit to me overtime.

Honestly I think if they age her character properly I'd start to like her more, everything about her really feels dated to me.

I figured it was relevant because anything more than 3 shotos in the vanilla game would be overkill and I don't see her making the cut

We were discussing if she'd get redesigned, not if she'd make the cut. I am really think Akuma will be day 1 DLC/Preorder bonus as time passes though.

I want Cody without handcuffs with full power

Will never happen, not only would he be Ivan Ooze level overpowered just that amount of force could wipe out existence itself.

we couldn't handle it.

just like we couldn't handle Oro using both arms.

Cody with the cuffs on is still far stronger than Oro with both arms.

Good eyes! Really interesting.
So this would mean there is an old Illuminati temple in the 'New Zealand' stage (lost in the mountain and covered in vegetation), since statues are the same from the Illuminati stage in SF3.
Another interesting point is the thing at the bottom of thoses statues (in new zealand stage and on Nash artwork), it looks like an open sarcophagus.

Now, warning, crazy theory incoming:
Necalli has an anachronistic look and seems to belong to an ancient civilization (Aztec, Mediterranean ? etc ).
He is also reminiscent of Gill by his athletic body and long hair.
We also know from SF3 that the Illuminatis have existed for thousand of years in the regions of the world often renowned for their powerful and influential civilizations.
What if Necalli was an ancient Illuminati emperor who slept for centuries in this sarcophagus and eventually awoke?

I really don't like chars like Oro and Cody who fight with handicaps like that. It's just dumb.

If Cody comes back , I want him pardoned or released so he fights without them on.

So basically we'd go full Battle Tendency? I'm in

NEXT YOU GONNA SAY "DEVOUR OUR OUR"

Jojo style on all levels. Would make sense !

One of the characters is a decedent of Guy, too.

Yeah I had this one from playing Namco X Capcom back in the days. What really blew my mind is that I didn't make the connection between Viper and Cap Commando's equipments myself :P

Andre the giant and HHH/hulk hogan

They are the best.
Yup. We need them both in the same game again (and with their SF3 intro, of course).

My thoughts exactly.

Whoa, awesome catch. Might as well make it Jojo if you're gonna make a serious story mode

Akuma fights with a Handicap too. Most of the time at least.

Also if Cody fought without the cuffs there'd be no way anyone else could be viable. Cody vs. Cody matches every match in Evo.

Besides, Cody keeps the cuffs on to give his opponents a chance. Without, it's Cody Fighter 5.

It doesn't really affect gameplay at all. It's just some dumb story reasons why they do it which is why I kinda like it.And when you think about it Ryu is handicapping himself all the time :P

Wow this is a really good theory.

Damn, a Jojo inspired story mode would be perfect for Street Fighter. I'd totally be down for that.

They made Cody a criminal to make him stand out in the SF cast. Otherwise he would just be a dude in a tank top and blue jeans which would be pretty boring visually.

I thought they did it as a joke since in the arcade game he just beat up everyone who came in his path and he got addicted to it :P

Except thats litterally his best outfit in 4. He like many fighters in 4 suffer from "my alt should be my main skin syndrome".

Codys alt stands out because most street fighters dont wear normal stuff. So they made his alt his main outfit yhat would be the jam

Yeeeeeeeeess

Bring more custom intro's to 5.

I pre-ordered at Gamestop, but they gave me no beta code. Says they are not out yet.

True?

edit: aja....other thread. nevermind.

The understanding I was under was that his inclusion in Alpha 3 was initially going to be Joe from SF 1. He was going to be an escaped criminal but they decided to keep the planned back story and changed Cody's character to fit it.

I believe they actually referenced this in Super SF4 when they had him punch a hole in a brick wall the same way Joe did in the intro for SF1.

Joe was going to be the protag of FF1 too IIRC.

Nice find! So my assumptions weren't that farfetched at all? I should trust myself more heh
Your theory sounds very plausible.

I just hope they cast Lawrence Bayne again as Urien and Gill, he has the most memorable voice over performance in the whole SF3 trilogy imo.

Dumb storyline stuff to me is dumb. It won't make me hate a game, but it will make me think less of char design.

Hope they bring back the profile pics near the health bars that appeared in the much earlier builds of the game. The current red/blue pics are not pretty.
