From a gameplay perspective, none of them would fit in SF2, and from character design, Juri and Abel are more inline with SF3 characters than they're with SF2's considering how they're not shallow stereotypes. This is probably why I prefer the SF4 characters. When I think of Ryu, Chun, Zangief, etc. - I can see them coexisting with El Fuerte, Abel, Hakan, Juri, etc.
Maybe they're not downright SF2 characters, but IMO they'd feel more out of place along with... Twelve, Gill, Necro, Remy, etc. From a gameplay perspective, none of them would fit in SF2, and from character design, Juri and Abel are more inline with SF3 characters than they're with SF2's considering how they're not shallow stereotypes.
Everything about Alpha outside of a few characters is trash, especially the loose ass gameplay. Stop liking what I don't like and support Oro and Necro for Street Fighter V!

Which is why I mentioned Alpha. They're a way better fit for Alpha than SF2.Maybe they're not downright SF2 characters, but IMO they'd feel more out of place along with... Twelve, Gill, Necro, Remy, etc.
This...is acceptable.I love Alpha but I think Oro in SFV would be awesome. Is that ok ?
Come on
I mean yes, Guile may have had his entire gimmic done way better and way more stylish by C. Viper.
But come on, Guile's pretty cool
Oh and who supercedes Joe? There's gotta be someone... Guile?
This makes me cry a little.
Good!
You may doubt me.
I may be wrong but I doubt it. :E
Just like everyone else who didn't change their outfit in 4? And the SF3 characters who arent even supposed to exist in the game? She's still 16 in that game, it was an all stars game with no real basis in story.
I'd take an avatar bet, or even a ban bet that if Sakura does show up in this game, she will be looking like this.

They aren't scared to change her look.
Yup, that's about rightWhich is why I mentioned Alpha. They're a way better fit for Alpha than SF2.
It means that once you activate his V-trigger, you can't stop it until the next round. It's like a stance. His attacks are just stronger but he can't use his V-reversal.
I think treating SF3 as an alternate timeline would free the series.
Pretty interesting if true. Side note, how many characters do we have now that use a V reversal of sorts?
Isn't the V-reversal a universal thing ala Zero-counter, meaning everyone has one ?
I could have sworn we had almost this exact same discussion yesterday. I am not saying there is absolutely no way they will change her look, I am saying that there is basis to the claim that they are too scared to change it.
SF4 is a canon SF game, as much as I'd prefer Seth didn't exist in the main story and if she was 16 in it the justification for having her wear the uniform and particularly the Eternal School girl coment make no sense.
Anyway if you want to put a bet on it that's fine, you can set the terms and as long as it's fair and nothing crazy I'll accept. I think a ban is a bit overkill and I'm not sure if that'd be enforcible (Nor do I have any particular desire to see either of us banned) but if that's what you'd like to go for, I'll accept.
Guile isn't cool at all. The only thing great about him is his theme.
!
SF4 did not re-tell SF2.Free the series to do what? SF4 came out and all it did was basically tread water and retell SF2.
Ah, I thought they were referring to his V-Skill. My fault.Isn't the V-reversal a universal thing ala Zero-counter, meaning everyone has one ?
I just really hope Capcom learned there lesson and are putting much more thought into the story this time. The hell with anime stills for intro and outro 1 minute clips. Capcom can do better and give it a full fledge story like MK9 or MKX if they really put time into it.
I understand as a fighting game mechanics and gameplay come first for competition and that's fine but, Im sure a story mode is possible. I shouldn't have to read Udon comics all the time for "canonical" story or what took place between this and that no disrespect to the creators.

In fact, I think SF3 is the only force compelling the SF series to actually progress forward.
Capcom might remain in SF2-ville forever if it weren't for SF3 reminding them that, "yes, Shadaloo isn't the only plot-line you can explore, and yes classic characters are capable of getting older."
Maybe they can make the story seasonal along with the characters released and it wouldn't end till the final character is released so that they all get in. Or they could take the MK route and just do the story with future DLC characters in the story and use them to flush it out and release them later like Rain,Tanya ect. What i'm curious to see is how the non original roster characters get treated storywise.
If the story comes with the first release, does that mean the DLC characters are not apart of the story?

Move design, no, but aesthetically Fuerte, Abel and Hakan work.
Abel is a straight up Fedor clone w/ visual design, like Tyson/Lee.
I love Hakan so much.
Yep, it's perfect. I'd give her this new costume as the main one in SFV and I'd offer as alternative outfit the classic one.Like this?

Personally, in terms of roster at least, Street Fighter started getting interesting from Alpha onwards to me, with 3 having the best roster of new characters. The SF/2 roster isn't bad, of course, but my favorite characters are all from Alpha/3/4.The SF3 hate itt is gross. I swear if it were for some people we would be stuck with the same old boring stuff we've been fed since the SF2 days: Shadaloo, Dark Hadou, Akuma arc etc till the end of days.
Agreed, the hate Viper gets surprised me. In fact, I didn't know she was hated until a few days ago. I mean, I never expected her to be Juri levels of popular, but hated? :v She is IMO one of the best characters in the series.I like Fuerte but I do understand the hate. I'm more horrified by the people hating on Viper, I think she's an awesome character and really hope she makes a return at some point. Rufus was the worst of the new characters imo.
Hakan's great. I want him back and his wife playable as well.I love Hakan so much.
Or even go further with satsui no hado sakura, like this year Udon's comic:
Goutetsu would be hype though. He can actually control the Satsui no Hado.
