Tom Brady's Suspension Appeal News

How do Brady apologists rationalize the text messages from the "Deflator"?

The text message was from May 2014 before the season had even begun so it either was not related to the deflation of footballs below the prescribed limit, or the Patriots are long time deflators who only deflate footballs during home games and for some reason in 2014 not in the home game against the Jets.

You don't understand the unique culture.

Saying what you don't mean is part of the joke in Boston. That's why eveyone called Bill Russell the n word and threw garbage on his family at home games. It was hilarious but the old Scrooge has no sense of humor. Just like the rest of you buffoons who think the Pats are guilty.

Joking about deflating balls and Brady being a shitty person were obviously jokes about how he would never deflate balls or be an asshole.

Never been to Boston, will probably never go there. I guess I'll never peer inside that world. I am oblivious to such culture. Sounds terrible.

It seems most talk is that Judge's rarely like to overturn an arbitration decision. So my hunch is that the suspension is upheld - personally i would prefer if a judge would demand a new appeal hearing by an actual impartial arbitrator.

There were Brady chants at the bar I went to tonight. We will never back down. Facts are facts and witch hunts are witch hunts.

You know, if you saw a text of mine and it said "I'm glad I killed that bitch," you'd probably think I'm talking about murdering somebody. Fact is, I could've been talking about anything from kicking somebody's ass in the video game to beating them in blackjack.

You need context. If you saw the equipment guys texts to each other, they were like grown fucking children. Unless you knew them and understood how they talked to each other, you'd just have to take a guess about anything they said.

U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman ordered Tom Brady and Roger Goodell to appear in court for two conferences on Aug. 12 and 19.

Berman requested the two sides "engage in comprehensive, good-faith settlement discussions prior to the conference on August 12." Though the judge did not mention the NFL's and NFLPA's joint request to have the case resolved by Sept. 4, the immediacy of the conferences suggests a resolution could be handed down quickly. Hopefully this ridiculous episode will come to an end before the season begins. Aug. 1 - 6:31 am et

brady is evil.

but sometimes evil wins. with the lawsuit, he'll end up with no suspension, and an apology foot rub from the NFL.

Joe Montana is evil.

Michael Jordan is evil.

Muhammad Ali is evil.

Micky Mantle is evil.

Etc.

This is what you are saying and how ridiculous you sound.

Patriot fans sure do like to complain how the nfl has treated them unfairly during this investigation, but when their team cheated its way to fraudulent championships fairness didn't seem to be a top priority.

They didn't cheat their way to anything. Everyone who bothers to learn the facts knows this.

I'm sure 9/11 was an inside job, Lance Armstrong is clean, Barry Bonds wasn't involved with Balco, and George Bush won in Florida. The list goes on..

Your analogy is lacking. You saying you killed somebody with no other circumstantial evidence would be the same as someone with no connection to the patriots organization calling themselves the the deflator. That's not the case. A man tasked with the responsibility of controlling the air pressure of footballs for the patriots complained about Tom Brady's demands of him to deflate footballs to the point of calling himself "the deflator." How childishly or not he expressed this in his texts messes is meaningless and nothing more than a hollow deflection from the actual content of those text messages.

If anything comes out of this I really hope Gillette becomes this hostile stadium for the away team. Man I really miss Foxboro Stadium where people weren't afraid to stand up and cheer.

Does ESPN still have an ombudsman? Haven't seen anything for a while from him.

I'd love to see the ombudsman do a critical analysis of ESPN's reporting on this, with emphasis on both the original reporting, the verbiage of some of their former players turned 'analysts' and especially of the coverage (or lack thereof) of the events of yesterday between Mortensen and the Pash emails.

How do Brady apologists rationalize the text messages from the "Deflator"?

Did Brady send that text? Did that text mention Brady said it, calls him that, referred to him as that?

Did any text involving the guy calling himself the "deflator" remotely link that term to Brady?

Or are you inferring it because that guy had it on his phone?

I saw an article on ProFootballTalk.com saying the NFL leaked stuff to ESPN to get public opinion on their side.

These are Machiavelli level tactics lol.

It is more probable than not. Morts source was Kensil and the Patriots released the email chain asking the NFL to correct the ESPN false report and the NFL refused too.

Everything the NFL has done screams smear campaign.

-Not correcting the false PSI numbers.
-Goodell arbitrating instead of someone even partially neutral.
-The bullshit focus on Tom's cell phone.

Companies strategically leak all the time. It's not really underhanded unless they leak lies, and no major company would do that if they aren't in danger of being shut down.

The NFL is suppose to represent all 32 teams, the fact they released false information about one team and were not willing to correct it is troubling.

The obvious explanation is that the ballboy was in on it and the text messages were part of the plan to bring down the Pats and Tom Brady.

I just explained away the texts, for the "true believers" that believe Tom Brady is guilty. But for these delusional people who base their ill founded beliefs on a few scant text messages, a 400 page report, some shitty science and the irrelevant coincidence of Brady destroying his telephone on the same day he was to be investigated how do you explain away this important testimony?

just read some articles on the leaked emails, all I gotta say is hol-y shit. NFL league office dun fucked up.

except that the leaks were in fact lies.

I don't see a way that Brady doesn't win this. It's looking more and more probable that the NFL didn't have real case, and only held true to the original, already unjust punishment before to look strong.

Oh well. Jimmy G can get his chance later.
Then traded to the Rams to lead us to 10 chips.

Mike Kensil has been removed for the NFL operations website

For background, I believe it was Friday when he was reported to have been the one who leaked the incorrect info the Chris Mortensen.

rofl, NFL trying to sweep it under the rug during the weekend, yet announces their shit in prime time for the world to hear.

The Patriots have a perfect opportunity to shift the narrative, they need to go on full out attack now and pounce to get this into the news cycle.
