Really nice screens that make me want to explore every single setting of them.
it looks pre-rendered and ass as phuck.
somehow it looks like a better ps3 game than a real ps4 game...
this game wont hit before fall 2016.
Are you f---ken kidding me? -sigh-
Is that hard to ask for a very sandboxy Final Fantasy that's like Skyrim/Witcher 3 in terms of open world, quest system, and story progression.
Yeah, but a lot of my complaints have been fixed by the new additions in the DX11 client. Shadows saw a massive improvement which improved the appearance of the game a ton, IMO.Really? I have some really amazing shots.
But remember Luminous lighting was also set for the original Versus engine as well.
I don't understand the point of this game? Is it just a stroll in a car? Lol

We already know the cities will be completely different from each other. We have Tokyo, Venice and Havana so far as the bigger cities and there will be smaller villages as well that might have their own differences as well. That would really suck, cities should feel quite different from each other.
Square Enix listens to the public a lot, I dunno where you have been if this is news to you. They still won't reveal the release date just because people are whining, as they already have plans for when the big release date reveal is going to be, but they are probably releasing a bit more information since the Gamescom stuff was underwhelming.Could this be a knee-jerk reaction to the (deserved) bad reactions they got from their lackluster and anticlimatic Gamescom showing? Could it be Square Enix is actually listening?
It's not necessarily open world in the same way as GTA or Elder Scrolls are open world. You don't just start the game and go where ever you want. You might not have the full world open to you from the start, the story can kind of dictate some limits, especially early on (i.e. a bridge might be broken at some location until you do something, the car breaks down and the game doesn't let you advance too much further before you've fixed it and stuff like that), but it should open up as you get further along and there will always be vast areas like Episode Duscae's to explore. So it'll be like past FFs with world maps where you were on this somewhat linear path, but with some room for exploration, until at a certain point of the game you will have the full world open to you and then you can go (almost) where ever.Didn't Tabata say it was not full open world?
XIV has an amazing lighting system in the background, but it's not that much use when your polycount is low, you don't aim for a realistic look and thus barely use normal maps, microsurface/specular/glossiness maps. XIV is very artsy, with a distinct style that you either like or hate.
I'm already so sick of looking at these wanks.

Same for me. I'll gladly take giant cities with personality that you can get lost in over an open world.Mmmmm yes, I'm feeling it. Something like that beats a big open field any day of the week.
If I remember correctly, ARR is using the Luminous engine for the lighting (same engine as FFXV lol).
I would buy FFXV just for the HD towns.
Let JRPGs be JRPGs and WRPGs be WRPGsA decent idea
The Dawn trailer did that for me, somewhat. *shrug*Looks ok, I guess. This game urgently needs a story trailer so I can actually feel invested in the adventure and want to explore those places. The screenshots do nothing for me because none of that means nothing to me, I'd be more excited with a new armiger move shown in a screenshot than any of these.
A decent idea

Mixing things up is fine.
I do agree that it doesn't make sense for Final Fantasy though, given that it's always been a story- and character-driven series, and open-world gameplay like Skyrim doesn't lend itself to telling a strong story.
Now if SE wanted to make a crazy Japanese open-world game like Skyrim, I wouldn't object, and would be interested to see what that looks like, but I don't think it'd make any sense to use the FF brand with it.
I have the opposite opinion, that the screenshots look terrible enough to come from in-engine. lolit looks pre-rendered and ass as phuck.

Love the idea that square released these pictures because of the bad reaction the game got.

Second screenshot: hopefully the game will give you a hint or a clue that there's something interesting around you. It's not like I'm going to stop and visit what looks like outisde like a normal forest.
Third screenshot: the architecture share something in common with FFVIII visual style, I like it.
No things can mix and be inspiredLet JRPGs be JRPGs and WRPGs be WRPGs
Im talking about witcher 3. Man if had a more eastern style of that sort of game. It would be the jamIf you like shitty world design and quest design then sure
A decent idea
You'll live

They look okay. Probably realistic to expect in the final version as well.I have the opposite opinion, that the screenshots look terrible enough to come from in-engine. lol
So 1080p or not 1080p? At the end of the day, this is the only thing we want to know.

The IP is already there, all Square needs is make a big budget game out of it
These look great.
And I really liked their exploration/material collection video.
Lmao, its really weird how right you are... Wow.I just hope that "open world" doesn't result in a story that seems like it's over before it's begun.
