Local player really ruined low tier god's day last night :( @ 25:42

yo damn... i gotta say he kept on using far fierce when the opponent already punished him once for it from that distance with the block string lol. other than that, when you use rolls consecutively to chip out, a good player will find a counter measure quick. after that, he had no options to escape since anything would have killed him. he needs to disrespect hugo more and just walk up and grab him on wakeup to mix it up.

I like Talos' new command grab. It definitely is way better than the original standing command grab. That said, I still wouldn't say Rising Thunder is good. It's still very 'meh' in terms of execution but I think it has the potential to be good... But that's going to be behind a paywall. The more interesting special moves/supers that would help you in bad matchups are going to be behind a paywall.

Nah, if they are smart it wont be behind a paywall it will be behind a time or money wall.

What were the FGC made fighters. I'm definining FGC as made by a tourney successful player or major name.

First one I think was

Anarchy in the Nippon (Japanese VF2 masters made that and even put themselves in the game)
HDR
Skullgirls
PSAS
Soul Calibur 5 (Daishi was a top SC1 player in Japan)
Rising Thunder
Divekick
Fantasy Strike (in alpha)

Does KI count? I know buktooth and some others were on that double helix team although I don't know in what capacity. Keits is now involved of course.

The community making its own games is an awesome thing I hope the trend continues.

Trying to play Rising Thunder consists of me fighting 300-400 ping Brazilians while looking across the room to a friend who's playing perfect connections.

Yeah, it's funny. Most of those games were abandoned or they were ass or incredibly divisive.

FGC dudes were part of the consulting process but it wasn't exactly designed by them. Iron Galaxy isn't exactly FGC, they just have experience porting fighters.

Rising Thunder Chel dlc parts. I can see it.

Do it!

rookiejet how is Yomi on steam?

Pretty good! Cross-platform play has been seamless; I've always found matches, and my (terrible) stats were tallied and synced on all platforms under the same account.

The game in general is a lot of fun but I have been caught up in too many things and too little time to play it as much as I'd like. My board game nights are also restarting, so hopefully I'll get more irl matches too

Tempted to pick it up

Praying they go the cosmetics route or something; I don't know. They're going to have to be very careful about how they handle it, though.

I have been looking at a lot of rising thunder. Anyone else just not find that game super visually appealing? It looks super...dull

It's western

You all alone on that one. Plenty of western video games I like. Also i like KI and MK.

You're not the first. Even as a big fan of robots in general I find their designs lacking.
It looks like some first draft design on the bots. Dull, generic, and the backgrounds aren't much to look at either. The robot with the weird cross ups, looks sort of neat. But even then its in comparison.

maybe the interesting visuals will be paid DLC. it's F2P model afterall.

"If you all buy enough dlc we'll get actual art direction"

Hm, what about Guilty Gear Accent Core and Blazblue with Pachi?
Also, definitely interested in Anarchy in the Nippon now.

So whoever wins the online tournaments Topanga is running on the 23rd will get invited to Topanga B League. They're going to announce the members of the B League next week on Topanga TV.

I was at a little tournament thing on Saturday and had to play a Hugo in GF's..

tell your friend thanks for the matchup experience, probably would've got bopped without it.

I'll let him know. He went 0-2 at EVO for the first time ever (bad matchups) so he was pretty salty about the whole trip, but at least some good came out of it haha

I'm very interested in where Sirlin will go with his game.

I think the gameplay designer was a 3s chun player of some note.
Umezono? Yeah, he's a 3S player of note and is still active -- hell, he managed to get 3rd in the Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax side tournament at Evo this year.

This also serves as an another example that it is impossible to escape the anime.

SKD's BBCPEX tier list, cause the AFGC were all making tier lists. It's pretty easy to say SKD is the most advanced BB player in NA, and beats the top JP players who come over. I don't always agree with how he goes about things, but I'd trust his observations about games.
