You are absolutely correct to say that MGS3 is paced a bit differently than the others.

But it's still not the pace that appears to be here in MGSV which is fairly slow and seemingly sparse in story.

Naw I tend to get into the message board comment wars thing too much. I agree that MGSV from what I've heard seems to be a new direction. I'm just thinking it won't bother me as much cause the story is obviously still there just much more sparsely paced then ever before. From what I'm hearing the first part of the game is incredibly story heavy then it's building mother base for 40 hours then the game ends. It is a bit worrying but I'm willing to reserve judgement.

Coinciding with the Scarless big boss "truth" achievement theory. I'm sure we are going to have scenes of venom snake coping with his scars and bodily damage, just like we see Kaz doing in one of the trailers. We will find out a shit ton of the scarring and damage was directly from creating venom snake.

So a scarless, perfectly normal looking big boss in the "truth" ending will be more shocking.

"I should've known all along that all that crazy damage to venom's body meant more than just a chopper crash!"

I wouldn't say waste. I'd say a necessity in bringing down Zero. But man, to put a human...thing through all that. BB is truly a monster, even if it wasn't by his hands.

Also, I like the theme, if these spoilers ring true.

MGS1 was based on the dangers of being overly focused on your genetics and how it's an easy target, either by manipulation or as a weapon.
2 contained the dangers of not passing down those genes (even figuratively) and just modifying them instead.
3 was all about losing your identity to your nation.
And 4 detailed the dangers of technology (NANOMACHINES).

So V is, I guess, a combination of all that - making your modified soldier do all your dirty work without giving consideration to life through the advancements of science as he blindly follows orders.

It's kinda funny how none of that shit above can be corrected. Genetics are forever, sometimes people can't even pass the torch (Raiden, but he's not really following in Snake's footsteps at the moment), being crazy for your nation will forever be a thing, and technology is still ridiculous in the MGS world despite the AIs being gone.

And with V, a man is created, lied to, and then killed for some petty ass revenge, alongside his soldiers and the people that trust him.

Not the happiest place.

What does Grey Fox not being in PW have to do with anything? Considering how much PW wound up overriding PO, it was only a matter of time before Kojima would deal with the one big character that has yet to be explored on his own terms.

Everyone is saying that the medic is Grey Fox, the guide alludes to us playing as the medic which make it seem like we are playing as Grey Fox.
How is the medic Fox when Ground Zeroes took place straight after Peace Walker? It doesn't make sense?
The only explanation of how Grey Fox came to be with Big Boss is that Ground Zeroes was a simulation, which seems extremely unlikely.
