Tom Brady's Suspension Appeal News

I'm sure this was an inside job by the NFL to smear Tom Brady and the Patriots. I mean after Kraft and Goodell had that falling out, Roger was furious. Roger is just taking his ball home and not letting Kraft play.

Sucks that Kraft money won't have the sway it once did.

Kraft and Roger had such a tight relationship it's disappointing to see it be destroyed in the public. Years and years of friendship and back patting all gone in a blink of an eye. They stuck together through all the rough times, Kraft out there doing work and Roger coming along to cover it up. Sad indeed.

Stuck in the middle is little Tommy, just as innocent as can be. Throwing balls to Gronk, oblivious to all of it including the balls prepped by people he thought he could trust. He's the real victim of this public divorce.

Your posts in this thread are legitimately awful. You aren't commenting on any evidence nor the court appearances. If anyone is running a smear campaign, it's you. You're being juvenile and immature.

You can hate on the Pats for being the Pats all you want, obviously can't stop you, but I'm not sure why you're bothering to come in here if you're just going to flood the thread with salt filled posts full of ad hominem and satire. Seriously, what's the point? You're not learning anything, we're not learning anything. There's no exchange of ideas, you're simply blasting non sequiturs out into space (probably in the hopes of getting a response like this one).

Do we know what he ("the deflator") said when Wells questioned him on it? Or if Wells even questioned him about it in the first place?

Given that he was only referred to as "the deflator" 1 time in the ~1200 text messages reviewed by Wells, and the one time was nearly a year before he was interviewed, it's also pretty likely that he didn't remember the context of that particular text message.

Not to mention unless we have a transcript of the interview itself, any commentary on the context should be taken with a grain of salt based on Wells and the NFLs penchant for manipulating testimony

He can't enjoy watching his mediocre choke team so he has to do something about that.

The fact that we caught Goodell blatantly lying about Brady's testimony in the appeal should have us question the Wells report - did Wells intentionally misrepresent a testimony. I hope the transcripts from Wells interviews become public, it would be an interesting read.

You should get the thread title changed then to, "Patriots fans who agree Tom Brady would never cheat and are now experts on gas science"

The fact that there isn't a single Pats fan in here who even suspects Brady cheated a bit and is trying to get away with it - is kind of amazing. Phone destroyed on that one specific day out of 365 other ones? Coincidence. Everyone does that. "Deflator" texts? Just some word most people use, regardless of whether they handle NFL footballs a lot or not. Bathroom side trip? Just a complete coincidence. Fact that Tom does in fact prefer his balls underinflated? Weirdest coincidence of all. Stats and science? All bunk, unless they support Brady in which case dead on.

The worst part is that I won't even get a Pats fan in here to admit all the coincidences look weird. The goalposts will be moved, one of those coincidences will be dismissed, the science of the Wells report will be lambasted again. Infinite loop.

You can complain about his posts or mine all you want, but you're basically demanding an echo chamber with no dissent or even suspicion.

He did it. He might get away with it. Did it really make any difference to W/L? I doubt any more than any other minor shenanigan they or their opposing teams made, but this bubble you guys have created is crazy.

Excuse me, hi, I'm a Pat's fan who thinks balls were most likely deflated.

I've said it before, there is a difference between arguing against Brady's side and for him, and basically saying outlandish things that will obviously get a sports fanbase all wound up and mad.

NFL GAF trolls, it's what they do. I would rather not have that in this thread, I would very much like this thread to be about the specifics of the NFL case, Brady's case, league politics and other peoples opinions within the league.

If I have to make a new thread I'll do that, but I would rather not. I've asked people like Godslay to not shit up the thread, if they want to keep on doing it then so be it.

I'm demanding discussion not an echo chamber. You criticize this thread and then bring up old arguments that have already been debunked. You urge for objectivity and yet I can reverse your inane argument right back at you because it's way too easy (which is one reason it's completely bunk): the only reason people are hating on the Patriots in this instance is because they're the Patriots. They are numerous other examples of teams cheating systematically that have not had this level of vitriol leveled at them. Simply is what it is.

But you're responding to my response to Godslay and arguably defending him. You may want to look up what you're actually defending:

I can hear an echo in here.

Nothing I can do to change the narrative.

Court of public opinion convened a long time ago.

Now it's just a matter of how and how long does it take for the Patriots to clean up their tainted reputation. At least they have the future to change their ways.

Will they? I hope so. It's like rooting for a junky that was once a good person. Will they get off the smack and stop sucking dicks for crack? Can't say for certain, but hopefully Brady corrupting the game will scare them straight.

Don't let me interrupt your circle jerk.

There is nothing to say.

Verdict is out on the Pats and has been for a long time now.

I have no tears. My team has regularly defeated them both in the regular season and in the postseason. Even with the shady shit they're known for.

If anything I feel sorry for the Pats fans, having to go to bat for a shitty org really takes the fun out of the game.

Well...you thought right. Pats fans are the delusional ones. Right up there with Barry, Lance, 9/11 conspiracies, denying climate change and evolution, young Earth people, the list goes on.

I could go on...Why are you defending this? This isn't discussion. Again, you're responding to me this way because of how I feel about the subject. If I was on the other side of this argument you wouldn't have bothered.

Because he destroyed the evidence..c'mon man, your trying to tell me you ain't skeptical?

I'm telling you there is no evidence whatsoever that the balls were tampered with. If we accept what was gathered there's in fact evidence the balls could not have been tampered with.

And this destroyed evidence nonsense is irrelevant anyway. They have the texts and his logs. They know who he talked to and when, and they have the associated texts already.

still haven't explained why he was called the deflator.

He was called a deflator in may... In November he's complaining how the refs over inflated the ball after he checked the next day.. If he's deflating balls after the refs check the ball, why would he even be saying this?

Plenty of us think the coincidences are weird and there is a possibility of cheating. However, given that there isn't a precedent for ball deflation and the penalty in the NFL rules is a $25k fine, this whole thing has gotten way out of control.

I think the most likely scenario is that the balls were prepared a little below the proper PSI (probably not intentionally, but idk), approved by the refs, and then the game went on.

Pats fan here and I think he cheated. Full stop.

Can you now stop flooding this thread with shit? You are acting like a 5 year old in this thread when I have come here for new news on this issue and a sound debate. All you have done is shit the thread up with "nah nah nah pats fans, nah nah cheaters". Grow up seriously.

I'm sure you'll just reply with something childish instead of acknowledging your own immaturity so why did I even bother...

The fact that there isn't a single Pats fan in here who even suspects Brady cheated a bit and is trying to get away with it - is kind of amazing.

Wow, I could say there is not one Patriot hater who thinks otherwise.

Phone destroyed on that one specific day out of 365 other ones? Coincidence. Everyone does that.

Read this and get educated. http://deadspin.com/the-full-story-of-tom-bradys-destroyed-cell-phone-1722190784

"Deflator" texts? Just some word most people use, regardless of whether they handle NFL footballs a lot or not.

Did Brady type this? Was that word in the 10k words in his text messages and emails? Even once?? (Hint: No)

So how does this involve Brady?

Bathroom side trip? Just a complete coincidence.

Did Brady go the bathroom with him? He has gone the bathroom before, so his testimony says.

Stats and science? All bunk, unless they support Brady in which case dead on.

This is stupid. Even Wells and Goodell ignored the science in the report during the testimony because they know it was wrong.

Funny how you call Patriot fans non-objective, yet you spew this crapola. Even Berman said there is no evidence against Brady. Of course we know you have not read a single piece of paper from this case. We know you watch ESPN and Chris Carter for all your news.

You're both blind and defending shitposters like Jabbee and Godslay. Plenty of Pats fans question what happened. I just did it a mere few posts prior to yours.
I'm not a shit-poster. I think the Pats cheated based on their history of getting caught cheating along with the "coincidences" that happened in this case. It's weird that holding that opinion makes you a shit-poster.

I just find it homorous that it seems people are willing to believe in Brady and the Pats. They are franchise known for bending the rules and cheating. The detour to the bathroom cemented the cheating. Brady's face when confronted with the accusations cemented the accusation being true.

I believe the Patriots cheated their way to three Super Bowls in the early 2000s and I believe they did so last year as well. Football is a game of inches and the Pats pushed the needle as far as they believed they could do so. They were caught and they are being punished.

The Pats believe they are above the game of football. Kraft thought he had a side deal with the commissioner. It's ridiculous.

It might be my issue. After the Pats were caught cheating their way to three Super Bowls, I don't give them the benefit of the doubt. You guys see coincidences, I see the cheating.

So the balls just deflated themselves? Ok.

Because this thread isn't about your personal grudges about the Pats.

You post like the Patriots kicked in your door, punched you in the balls and killed your dog, laughing and driving away waving their rings outside of the car with the middle finger up.

You are DERAILING the thread with this shit. I want this thread to be about news and actual discussion, not your constant hyperbole that's par for the course in other NFL threads.

"caught cheating" means "they once filmed from a place in the stadium you're not allowed to"?

That's the cheating that lead them to their first three Super Bowls? Seriously?

That loss to the Pats when your QB puked all over himself still hurts, eh?

So the balls just deflated themselves? Ok.

You do know that balls will deflate without anyone doing anything to them, right?

Derailing what? This is a thread about Brady being suspended. I am saying he deserved the suspension. I disagree with those that say he is innocent.

Yea, by saying the most ridiculous non-fiction things you can think of.

Don't pretend that you're not just trolling. I have Godspeed saying Patriot fans defending their team be the equivalent to saying Global Warming is a myth and you acting like the Patriots have killed your entire family, which ends in the same exact results of people quoting you saying the same shit and you responding with the same shit.

I am going to step out. I have said my piece and what I truly believe.

I can't believe this is still going on.

You could lift posts from either side from months ago and no one would know.

It's ridiculous.

If he did it, so what. If not, so what. NFL, Brady and the media have made this a way bigger deal then it had to be. Deflated footballs or not still doesn't matter after that beating.

Yeah, eventually. Days later..don't know about minutes later though unless it's a bad ball but theb it would deflate pretty bad/unusable.

You don't actually know what the hell you're talking about. Temperature deflates and inflates balls with air in them. This is basic science.

No, it's actually minutes later if the conditions they're in change drastically. Like at an NFL game where the balls are in 70+ degree temps and then moved to below freezing temps, and then back to 70+ degree temps. Isn't science fun!?

Blaming Brady for this is victim blaming.

One thing I'm curious about. Some QBs like Eli Manning have said they can tell the difference between 2 psi. Have any come forward saying the can tell the difference in .5 psi?

This story really brings out the idiot in a lot of people. Jim McMahon was on Dan Patrick today and accused Belichick of being a cheater because back in 1995 he brought McMahon in to be a QB for the Browns and then cut him three weeks later. Obviously the actions of a cheater.

Guys lets just try to keep stuff on track. if you see something that's obviously not going to result in some type of constructive discussion about the news of the appeal just ignore it, lest we have pages and pages of the same things being said from five months ago.

Colts routinely sweep for bugs in their locker room at Gillette.

Never found any. Belichick so deep inside of their heads it's hilarious.

Did they sweep for bugs when they played at Metlife and got trounced by the Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks have revealed that a good part of their defensive strategy at the Super Bowl came from the fact that they were able to decode Peyton Manning's hand signals on the field.
Controversial corner back Richard Sherman said that he and his fellow defenders cracked the code that the Denver Broncos quarterback was using, meaning that they knew exactly what to expect for each play.
'We knew what route concepts they liked on different downs, so we jumped all the routes. Then we figured out the hand signals for a few of the route audibles in the first half,' he said.

Um, the Broncos aren't the Colts?

The original source of the claim (unless i misread it) was that Peyton Manning, when he was playing for the colts, would insist on talking in the hallways at Gillette stadium as he thought the locker rooms were bugged.

Belichik had the hallways bugged the whole time instead of the locker room.

You can't fuck with a mad genius

Idk where the myth came from that Pats fans aren't critical of Brady. Sure some people may not be, but I think most of us are to an extent. I didn't buy Brady's testimony in the press conference following the the Colts game, but I also don't think the Payriots and Brady are running some serious ball deflation scheme. I also think the punishment to the Patriots organization and Tom Brady is excessive.

My guess is that Brady knows he likes the balls a little below regulation and asked the equipment guys to try and get the balls to pass inspection under inflated, which may or may not be that difficult considering the lack of consistency in actually checking the balls.

Can anyone explain why the NFL would go after the Patriots and Brady for such a minor infraction?

Your posts in this thread are legitimately awful. You aren't commenting on any evidence nor the court appearances. If anyone is running a smear campaign, it's you. You're being juvenile and immature.

The old you hate us because you ain't us defense.

I don't need to run a smear campaign because John Q. Public knows that you run a cheating fraudchise hellbent on breaking any rules that stand in the way of illegitimate victories. That's the same M.O. that fueled Barry, Lance, and the like. A legitimate disdain for any rules that govern the game and provide integrity to said sport.

It's not my fault that I don't share your opinions or those of your franchise to win at any costs, including that of tarnishing reputation.

I don't have to post according to your guidelines, and I should be able to freely share my opinions as long as I am not attacking individual users. You are entitled to share your opinions as am I. Difference is you guys seem to not want to hear dissenting opinions, and feel that all of a sudden they must be squelched in the name of remaining on topic.

Nobody said anything when that albatross guy shared his crazy conspiracy theory of the world having it out against the Pats.
