Pokken Tournament for Wii U (Spring 2016 WW) Announced at Pokemon World Championships

Its that Lugia in the background a statue or something?

Its not moving.

Loving the backgrounds, seeing Tentacools and Sharpedos swim around is so cool.

Pokken looking amazing. Didn´t expect I would like this much. Looking forward to hearing opinion from top FGC players.

This looks a lot better with people who have some idea what they are doing as opposed to randos :P

BTW, I feel like people are grabbing and throwing a whole lot less than they should. Do throws just have insane recovery in this game?

Early gameplay footage actually left me lukewarm. About to watch some of the stream, hope all the positive opinions I'm hearing are right.

MUCHA LUCHA! MUCHALUCHA!!!

Machamp, Gengar, and Pika Libre, 'er day! Get wrecked regular Pikachu!

I wonder if there will be a downgrade for the WiiU version, since the version shown now is the arcade version. Not sure if the arcade hardware is better then the WiiU one.

Either way, the game looks way better now that it's not shown at 240p :P

If I recall, the arcade version was based on Wii U hardware. I wouldn't worry too much about any downgrades.

It looks OK, but my fighting game days are mostly behind me. As long as there are cool ways to unlock more pokemon and some kind of leveling/skill system I will pick it up. Story mode would be nice also.

So this is one person playing on the Gamepad vs. the other person on the TV, right? That's how they can both have their own perspective?

This is the arcade cab on stream, not the Wii U version. Meaning they're both playing on their own arcade cabinet and therefore have their own screen.

There theoretically could be downgrades for local multiplayer if they're doing the gamepad/TV screen stuff.

Shouldn't be as bad as it was with Hyrule Warriors *shudder* since the two screens won't be that different, but if it downgrades anywhere, it'll be there.

The controls look different from other fighting games. Especially the movement options. Strafing looks good here.

blaziken's super reminds me of abel's ultra 1: commentators guessing whether or not it has done enough damage to take the round.
