There were spoilers on reddit last month iirc, about Venom Snake wiping out mother base, a boss battle against Eli in MG and stuff about Quiet being sent by Zero.
I thought it was bullshit, but it does sound in line with whats being leaked right now.

I really hope the game/story wasn't written entirely before kojima knew he was done.
I would hate for him to have written it with intent for a sequel, the it ends up never getting made.

What, who the hell would come up with that, it's not like we recently saw Snake covered in the blood of his comrades in a hallway in MB or saw a scene of Eli in MG following Snake and getting stuck on a cliff.
Sarcasm aside, we saw all that in a trailer, it had no context but there was enough that anyone could look at that footage and think "Well this was probably that".
The sequel is already out, it's called Metal Gear, it's been known forever regardless of anything else at Konami, this was probably going to be the last main MGS game, the only direction he could go from here is backwards and make games about The Boss.

yeah probably. And Liquid in MG boss battle would be a safe guess as well, a throwback to MGS1. There was nothing on parasites and skull face either.

The real question is, WHO has undergone the treatment to become the body double. I'd bet my bottom dollar that it isn't a random soldier. It's going to be chico or gray fox or some shit. Right?

it aint safe to assume anything, the only thing we know for sure is the guide says Venom is BB(could be lyiing to not spoil anything) and that Ishmael's identity is revealed in the secret/real ending
I think it's safe to assume that yet. The main thing this theory seems based on, from what I can tell, is the entry from the guide on Ishmael, and while it definitely seems to point that way, it could very well be misdirection.
And why do we have to keep this gray fox nonsense alive? God guys, why?
Remember. WE have seen NO media of Chico in any of these new trailers. It's possible he died in the heli crash but it's shocking that there isn't a mention of him

The guide dropped some pretty big hints in the "who is ishmael" Section.
Ishmael has the same flowers from the boss's death scene.
When huey meets venom snake he doesn't recognize him, etc.

Because there's no way in hell a big boss body double would be John doe. Everyone and everything is related in MGS for better or worse. Especially something so huge.
Why gray fox? Because he was the only other playable character in ground zeroes. For a reason, I think.

Either way, my point is that IF venom snake IS a body double, the big twist is going to be
"Holy shit, Ishmael was Big Boss the whole time and ______ was transformed into Venom Snake, and we were fooled the whole time!"
Honestly, I think it's more probable that it's chico. Chico seems to have a thing for compromising his comrades and Big Boss is an evil fucker.

One of the spoilers said that venom snake has a vision of ghost Paz. Why would big boss even care that much, it was chico that loved and lost her.

I disagree. As 2 and 4 have multiple plot points that literally make me vomit in my mouth.
NOTHING is worse than Ocelot with liquids arm.
Gray Fox randomly being turned into Big Boss for reasons, then being turned back into Gray Fox all over again, all while being someone Big Boss barely even knows at this point is way worse. I would literally just stop playing the game at that point. As bad and dumb as some of the stuff from 4 was, at least I could see the logic in it, I could see where Kojima was connecting it even if it wasn't good. The Gray Fox thing is just plain fucking retarded and makes no sense to anything whatsoever.

Actually 4's fakeout about the arm is much worse than the original ghost arm.
To the point it pretty much ruined Liquid, though it did make Ocelot a much better character.

The Medic is Big Boss's most trusted guy. He has gone through reconstructive surgery and all that MGS science shit to be able to emulate the real Big Boss on the field.

I seem to recall there was some theory around the time of 4's pre-release that The Patriots was some kind of time travel device and they were going back to kill Snake at Shadow Moses (or something like that). I was stunned that people were seriously proposing that, and at least some of them seem to think it was possible. I group the Gray Fox thing into about the same thing.

But the medic is a nobody. In with 3 and 4, Kojima made so many unnecessary relations between characters that I just can't believe that Joe Shmoe medic is worthy to take up the mantle. And if he is, color me severely disappointed.

Liquid Snake, one of the best villains in all of gaming gets strung out in some stupid arm/hypnosis bullshit.

Anything is possible. Maybe GZ was a real event that did happen, and Venom Snake went through VR trainings for 9 years in that coma, going through those Camp Omega missions over and over again (just like us, the players did) in order to turn this medic into a guy that can emulate the real BB on the field.
All it takes is for Kojima to retcon Gray Fox into having medical experience, and not having been a child soldier at all.

What if Venom isn't Gray Fox, it is a nobody, it is essentially (you the player), and the real Big Boss kills you in the end and takes all of your accomplishments and turns DD into outer heaven? IDK, maybe Kojima wanted something symbolic

There just has to be a reason the medics face was intentionally not shown in GZ. Seriously the camera made SURE not to reveal anything above the mouth. Also it was Sutherlands voice just in a different pitch.
