So the medic is OBVIOUSLY venom snake.

It says there's a flashback scene of when Paz was on the helicopter and there are clearly 2 versions of big boss.

The medic and bog boss. That HAS to be why the medic's face is intentionally covered. They don't want you noticing/remembering him. I didn't even notice that after playing through it several times. I had to have pointed out to me.

And another key point, the medic has the SAME voice as Big Boss.

The proof is in the pudding.
 
BB turning up in that way would be cool. He'd still be a monster for allowing everyone else to wage war for him while he builds a Outer Heaven but maybe he's been in contact with Kaz and Ocelot, manipulating events to keep Zero's interest away from Outer Heaven, then the virus is unleashed on MB and as Venom panicks, have a breakdown after finding the tape with the truth, Big Boss is like that guy who killed

Aside from the numerous people who have been comparing them and ripped the model out of the game only to find that their faces are the exact same, just without all the hair, and a cleaner skin texture.

Also, there is a major issue with the "placeholder" thing that only just occurred to me, I feel dumb for not thinking of this earlier, the Fox engine use face generation for all the guards and stuff, there's no such thing as a placeholder in a game where every "nobody" character has a face generated by the engine, so him having Big Boss's face shape should have immediately been obvious there was something going on.

Yep. This is how I'd like to see things play out, given what we know:

- Venom wakes up/is born (V has come to), and Ishmael/Big Boss guides him out with the help of Ocelot. The whole thing is intentional mindfuckery to sell Venom the confusion that he would naturally be feeling.

- Big Boss disappears until late in the game. He continues establishing Outer Heaven. Kaz and Ocelot are in on the ruse, and agree to build Venom up in BB's place to draw Zero's focus.

- Over time, Venom of course becomes invested in DD. So does Kaz, and this is exacerbated by the fact that he is captured and mutilated. He now sees DD as his personal arm of vengeance and strength.

- In one of his last acts of defiance against Venom and Zero, Skull Face unleashes the virus on DD and personally infects Zero. The only way to stop it is to kill the hosts. Zero sets out to establish the Patriot AI to continue his vision of The Boss' legacy.

- In an exposition-heavy scene, Venom finds out the manipulative truth, possibly from Big Boss himself. He has managed to obtain one sample of the cure from Code Talker. Rather than trust Huey or someone else to duplicate the cure, Big Boss makes Kaz take it, curing him. Big Boss murders Venom. Kaz protests and roars at BB to stop (that he doesn't have to do what he's about to), but Ocelot (who is either immune or also cured, and hadn't fully bought into DD as much as Kaz) restrains him and takes him away (plus, he's Ocelot, and gets a raging boner any time Big Boss shows up).

- Big Boss kills everyone in Diamond Dogs and destroys the base. Through this act, as well as the Zero-levels of manipulation prior to this, he becomes the "monster" Kaz refers to in MG2. Also, post-main story, you can seek out Quiet and murder her, too. She's a loose end and Big Boss has no personal connection to her.

No, because BB doesn't have the shrapnel horn, he gets burned on the face but the shrapnel is embedded in Venom's head.
The only confirmation anyone could give is from press events where people played, and considering how Kojima tends to operate, I wouldn't imagine any of those people actually knew what was going on, we'll only know once the game is out.

It would also give an excuse as to why he had to rejoin FOXHOUND. If the virus from Code Talker/Skull Face causes BB to need to exterminate Diamond Dogs then a huge portion of his forces are gone yet Zero is aware of him, but not of Outer Heaven, so he needs to bide time after his master plan has failed because of the virus, rejoins FOXHOUND and builds it up in secret with it coming to a head in Metal Gear 1...

Skullface killed all the dudes you collected in Peace Walker and now Big Boss kills all the dudes you collect in this game. Mother Base is a terrible place to work.

Also, you are condemning anyone you Fulton to a grisly death.

I hope DD survives...
 
Theories sound plausible but a little weird as well. How do you hide outer heaven from Zero / Cipher of all entities while building up its forces? Is killing everyone in DD necessary? Just fulton them all ~

1. Well that's the point of DD. draw Zero's attention away, he doesn't have the AI yet and isn't omniscient (if that's the right term) was probably going to use DD troops to staff Outer Heaven when it was ready.

2. If they're infected....yup.

That's if any of this is true or if it's The phantom Pain GAF Edition
 
I'm so out of touch with the MGS plot at this point, I didn't play Peace Walker for one thing. Is there anywhere I can catch up? I mean how did, Major Zero (who seemed like just a normal guy) from MGS 3 to where he ended up eventually?

I'm confused.
 
Yeah I really like the direction of Big Boss coming out and nonchalantly shooting Venom in the head and then hunting down Quiet, would get a lot people to turn on him. I hope it happens.

Throw in him killing DD and people will start burning MGS3 copies.

We did and Ishmael has both intact, although this is somewhat of a moot point, as Big Boss could have easily popped in a glass eyeball.

His missing right eye would be kind of a give away if he knew people were actively hunting for him.

I still don't get how Big Boss goes from loyal and elite soldier to fighting some goobers in South America with his own army to crazy person who brutally murders everyone to military dictator to regretful dad.

Fuck yeah. Big Boss takes his most loyal soldier, has him brutally put through crazy fucked up gene tberapy, reconstructive surgery, and psyche therapy to force him into being a body double that doesn't even know it.

The body double goes through the emotional roller coaster of the game's storyline, including losing characters and having to kill everyone on mother base, only for him to find out that his closest friends were manipulating him.

Ocelot is always in the know, and he intentionally ignores venom snake's question of who was ishmael.

I want to see venom snake crushed by the realization that everything he went through was by design for a greater goal. He was the fall guy, only to be killed by the real big boss in the most cold-hearted way possible.

1st two are self explanatory just from MGS3, country manipulated him into killing the Boss, ruined her name, used him as pawn. He went fuck em and started a new group with his buddies so they can fight and have a purpose without being used as pawns.

He kills everyone because he has to stop the parasite from spreading and destroying the world, not cause he's a crazy person, the event still affects him though and hardens him even more. He's becoming an old man and is tired of shit getting screwed up so he's going to go all out to realize his dream, cue MG1/2.

He sees what the world has become in MGS4 and how he and Zero are pretty much responsible for it and becomes Regretful Snake.

Para-Medic is dead
Gray Fox is dead

Liquid his clone/son is dead

I agree, these spoilers have just made me wanna play the game even more.

And I don't think a Ground Zeroes save will make a huge difference to the story, just a few extra Mother Base staff/items.

Up to you though if you wanna get the full experience ;-)

Wait, wait, wait. Why are the eyes on this mask too, when the mouth isn't? What if it is actually a mask maybe-Big Boss is wearing to throw Surrugate off (and everybody else who cold see them). There are shurely ways how the can make the something that enables Boss to see through the eye. I mean, I could be wrong, but we never get a clear shot of Ishmaels eyes. Enough to see that he seems to have both eyes, but not enough to see him blink or move his eyes, right?

Oh, maybe that was even your point. Anyways, I really hope that the guide spoilers are not true and that Kojima put the´m out himself.
 
Just realized that we have no idea what happens to Miller and Ocelot, literally two of the three most important characters in the midst of all of this.

I feel like we only have 50% of the plot in volume as of right now.
 
The only two things I want answered in the game is why does ocelot yells at gray fox,"you can't even die right" and if there's any underlining beef between miller and Eli

Well...yeah, it is a spoiler, but apart from the fact he probably had a senior moment (unless that means something else) we saw that BB in the trailers so...ehhhhhhhh.....what is the pic from anyway? I mean I recognize the BB but...

No, those faces are not structurally the same. The medic's nose, eyes, and ears are distinctly different. I think some people in here are putting all of their eggs into one basket with this strategy guide. This is all STILL speculation and fledgling hypotheses as far as I'm concerned. We should wait for the actual results, a.k.a., the game itself.

Maybe both if the game has alternate story arks. Imagine if you install Ground Zeroes and the Deja Vu files make it so Gray Fox was swapped as the main protag.

Fox should be dead after MG2:SS, he was exaggerating because he actually knew Fox was alive.
Just like he actually killed the DARPA Chief(Sigint) on purpose.

It's the achievement picture, I believe. I could be wrong though. If it's a bot, then I would feel bad for him. All the effort he went to prevent spoilers, just to be foiled by a twitter bot.

It's from the last shot of the GDC reveal trailer.

The thing is, in the trailer, BB has the horn but his face is fine - no stitches or other wounds. What people are thinking is that for the purpose of the trailer, the horn was just inserted to throw people off the scent early on.
 
That's just some badge with Big Boss, not exactly a huge spoiler. "The Man Who Sold the World" is a song that has been featured through the game. Plus he didn't have a horn in Ground Zeroes. Seriously we have no idea what that picture even refers to or what it's from in context of the game.

Also the language trailer really hints heavily at Skullface's parasite plan. "Sans lingua franca, the world will be torn asunder." That's literally his whole plan right there.
 
Zero turns into a vegetable
Miller gets killed in the middle of nowhere by Liquid
EVA worked herself into a shoot over Solidus and killed herself
SIGINT gets tortured to death
Paramedic gets killed in some lab by Gray Fox
Big Boss dies in a graveyard
Ocelot fist fights Solid Snake on top of Haven


Ocelot won in the end I say.
