It's a pretty weird thing. It makes the character worse than she already was. I do not believe I will be mourning Kojima's swift ejection from this series.

Huey stuff is pretty dumb too. Why did Kojima give MGS the Star Wars prequel treatment? Not everybody and everything has to be related. It feels like something a child would write. It's amazing what a hack he is.
 
Normalmode, you said the tapes we get fill in some questions we had between MGS3 and TPP. But do we get any of our questions answered between TPP and MG1? (e.g questions like how Big Boss returns to the U.S and leads FOXHOUND/Solid Snake despite Outer Heaven being a thing).

She's not really deprived of her words if she's choosing not to speak, Kojima. Sniper Wolf costume, though! I'm a bit confused if she sacrifices herself for The Dude, or if she lives on, and wanders off into the desert? I hope she lives on. Go forth, Quiet.

In a series of really really dumb things Quiet seems to be the absolute dumbest.
 
Hey normalmode I have a quick but crucial question.

Can you turn off in-game music ?!

In Ground Zeroes you can't so you're fucked for trying to play your own songs since in-game background music is still on.

Or can you finally select your own custom music(from USB) on your iDroid ?
 
This is all so fascinating! Never really paid too much attention to the MGS games, even though i found them interesting in a wtf kinda' way.

Anyway, just to ask here - got Ground Zeroes, playing with a controller and the cursor won't fuck off! Anyway to fix it? Hope it's not in MGSV.

It's a real shame, because I find Quiet genuinely compelling - I've really liked everything I've read about her mutual respect comrades-in-arms relationship with Venom Snake, and have loved what I've seen of her as a companion in missions. (Her crash landings plus her movement at high speed is awesome.)

It's just that between the outfit (the bikini is important for her powers and photosynthesis!), her chosen lack of speaking ('respect', my ass, Aretha Franklin would not have approved), and the whole 'she doesn't have breasts, they're magically aesthetically pleasing tumors!' (???!!!), I'm a a bit flabbergasted. I think I'd be doing less of an eye-roll if Kojima hadn't tried to justify it, and had just gone full Mistral.

Still gettin' that Sniper Wolf costume. The thought of Quiet dyeing her hair between missions is a bit funny.

Well her being the mother of one of Huey's kids was a thing people should have seen coming a mile away in Peace Walker.
Honestly, Emma is the AI specialist in MGS2 so I always assumed that Emma was going to be her daughter, and since Strangelove is indeed called "Strangelove" I figured if anyone was going to have a sexual relationship with her own step-son, it would be her.
 
Oh deary me, Huey sounds like a downright unpleasant person in those spoilers. Kojima just wants to break all the PW characters doesn't he. At least Cecile doesn't have a bad end, yet.

Memory's rusty but didn't MGS2 establish that Huey met Emma's mom fairly late in the timeline?


One other thing, I've been rewatching the trailers and I did notice that the E3 2014 trailer had a logo for Outer Heaven that was otherwise not mentioned ever again in subsequent previews/trailers. I wonder if that's some heavy foreshadowing on Kojima's part.

Didn't he see Venom and act stratled in Greg Miller's lets's play. He also sees the Skulls and identifies them.
 
Quick question about recruiting The Eye and the Finger from GZ: Do we simply have to have a GZ save, or do we have to have a save where we extracted them both?

Noone is blind from the parasite that we know of so far. The eye change just signifies who has the virus.
 
Hey normalmode, can you continue using Quiet in gameplay after she leaves in the story? Also, do you permanently lose all/most of your staff at any point, and is it possible to recruit more?

this matters cause it decides whether one should finish all the side OPs before continuing the story and things like that.
 
I keep seeing it thrown around a lot, but has there been any confirmation that Quiet's breasts are actually tumours caused by the parasite stuff.

With or without confirmation of that, is there *anything* redeemable about Quiet as a character? I don't think I've ever seen a worse character in a game.

No it's not confirmed.

Quiet is justified with her Sniper Wolf outfit and her boobs. Of course there will surely be other redeemable factors that we just don't know because the game hasn't released yet.

It was in the FOB demo, Hand of Jehuty pulls people to you from a distance, like say a guard is on a platform across from you and you can't get to him, you can shoot out an electrical thing that pulls him straight to you within CQC range.

Watch the end of the FOB gameplay demo, I think it was from GDC 2015, and you will see it used in gameplay. Its an R&D upgrade im sure.
