So Kojima ruined MGS2 and MGS1 with MGS4 and his nanomachines shite he pulled. He has now ruined MGS3, PW and MG1 with this game and the whole nanomachines as well as a body double theory.
Holy fuck. I'm glad I read this here though because if I would have witnessed these revelations while playing on Friday I would have smashed the PS4 up, killed whoever owns the shop I'm buying the game from and went prison, free from Kojima's bullshit.

I don't get how MGS3 got ruined, PW story already sucked who cares about that.

and MGS4 doesn't really do anything to MGS1

I'm surprised, Ishida. This twist is so Metal Gear that I thought you'd love it.

I love a lot of Metal Gear plot twists.

But the fact that we are not playing as the real Big Boss but instead a nobody in the final game of the franchise, the game that was supposed to show us Big Boss descending into his own personal hell, is too much to take.

And no, I don't swallow the excuse of "Big Boss working in the shadows make him just as evil!", that's just mental gymnastics. I wanted this story to be personal. I wanted to PLAY as Big Boss as he fell into madness.

It also wouldn't be as bad if not for that final statement that Big Boss was a fake in the original Metal Gear.

Bigger drama queen than anything I've ever seen come out of popGaf.

It's called being stealthy, Big Boss took it to a whole new level.
This is a stealth series... I mean...what do you want.

Ha stealth! He gets a fake to bust his ass in Africa and Afghanistan building a cool ass base, stealing all kinds of goats and wildlife, taming bears etc all the while risking his life looking like boss.

Medic is a god damn hero, that has mental issues.

Boss is, a scardy cat.

These reactions remind me of MGS4's spoilers all over again. The Metal Gear fanbase really tore through shit with the revelations in MGS4. It even made MGS:TUS close down because the admin was so disappointed with MGS4...

I would've prefered a more straightforward approach. Skull Face was set up nicely in GZ and did horrible things to Chico and Paz. It seems that BB isn't dealing with him at all, though he did put them in hospital.

Big Boss said this to Solid Snake in MGS4

" You have already killed me twice...today will mark the 3rd"

Sigh. MAJOR RETCON. Really kills MGS4's ending.

Did you rike it?

The Big Boss ending for MGS4 was insisted by the Staff but Kojima wanted Solid Snake dead from what i can remember. So technically the big boss thing was never supposed to be part of MGS4.

I was admittedly mad when the switch happened in MGS2. That tanker mission was so good. But this doesn't bother me in the slightest. Maybe it's because I always preferred Solid over Big Boss,

I like BB over Solid. The switch in MGS2 shocked me more than anything.

MGS4 was a total fucking mess but I still love the game. It had great moments. Kojima started retconning it all with MGS3 when he mentioned the wiseman's committee.

People do themselves a disservice when they take this story too seriously. The themes in MGS are honestly the most important aspect.

Guys.. My head is gonna explode from all this info.

Could someone please give me the short version?

Is the player BB? If not, Then who?
Where is BB?
Who is Venom?
Is BB the Skullface character?
Who did we play with in GZ?

What is the plot here?
I know its much to ask for, but if any of you could give me the short version I would really appreciate it.

Like who controll who. Gray fox. Fox hound. XOF.
I know BB controlled Outer heaven. Did he give the order to destroy it?

Did GZ actually take happened?

Thanks Kojima, I cant sleep now. looool

Sure, and I wanted to play as Solid Snake in MGS2. Subverting my expectations is one of the things I love about this series. It also takes a game story I don't particularly care for (MG1) and at least imbues something slightly more interesting into it.

yep this is a Raiden reaction, Raiden all over again

Kojima you did it again, good thing he's off MGS because no one would ever trust him again and the fan theories would be more insane than ever.

First of all, that's not true. The staff was only against having Snake and Ocelot get killed in the end. We have no proof that they suggested Big Boss to appear. As far as we know, that was Kojima's idea.

Hey Ishida. Kojima's reason for replacing Hayter - "we are going for serious themes"

MGS5 seems like a parody now.

Ye sure lol lol lol

Hilarious how Kojima leaves the fanbase with one final troll before leaving the series for good. lol.

I'll have to see this retcon in its context before making a judgment call. I think that would be best for people in here losing their shit about it.

People disliking MGS2 for the switcheroo is something i can't really understand for being too young to follow things in any capacity. It's just funny when you play it yourself.

Medic from Ground Zeroes cutscene.
BB is Ishmael
Venom is medic. He's made a body double for BB
SF is not BB
GZ was true Big Boss.

GZ did actually happen, it put them in hospital where they planned to create a body double for BB since everyone wanted BB dead. Zero was in on the ruse too, as were Miller and Ocelot. The raid on the hospital was staged, so that Venom Snake was put in a situation immediately.

Venom/Medic controlled Outer Heaven. Real Big Boss gave Solid Snake the order to assassinate him.

Yeah. I've always, ALWAYS said that ever since this game was announced. People were gloating about how this game was going to be less ridiculous, and more realistic and down to earth. And from the very beginning I knew that was nonsense.

But I gotta admit, I never expected Kojima to pull this level of bullshit.

From /mgg/
Big Boss and co. came up with this crazy body double scheme and brainwashed a loyal soldier into thinking he was somebody else for years.

Venom lives as Big Boss, truly believing in it all. Building Mother Base, making comrades and all that.

Suddenly Big Boss sends him a tape after Venom has lived as him for couple years and it explains the whole lie. Big Boss probably thought Venom would take it better than he did, but he underestimated how much it would fuck with him to find out he's not who he thinks he is.

Venom can't sort out which memories are real or not. He can't trust anyone he thought he could. He goes nuclear and makes Outer Heaven, intent in exacting his fury on the unforgiving world.

Big Boss didn't plan that part, and sends his agent Solid Snake in to kill Venom, knowing full well that Solid will see him as Big Boss and Big Boss will be blamed for all the war crimes and terror.

He does it anyway and accepts it. His toying with the mind of another man and stealing his sense of self backfired on him big time.

Venom doesn't peacefully accept he's not Big Boss, he is mad and confused he was lied to and suffers ptsd and mental breaks.

The last part. WE ARE LITERALLY VENOM SNAKE.

KOJIMA HAS DONE IT AGAIN
BRAVO

No different than the "bullshit" in MGS4?

To all those that have the game, does it have any gamma issues like Ground Zeroes did? Night scenes looking all washed out and such?

No different than the "bullshit" in MGS4?

I don't know why you single out MGS4, when pretty much every game in the franchise has been full of bullshit. Hell, bringing back Gray Fox as a "Cyborg Ninja" was bullshit, as was the whole "clone" thing that Metal Gear Solid started.

But this game is on a whole different level.

I am honestly very happy Hayter is not a part of this bullshit story. He is a screen writer and Kojima's story telling has hit an all time low with TPP, it seems. He would have not taken role of Snake if he would have known the script lol

Yeah, I don't see how Big Boss is "evil"

I don't understand why Kojima wanted to paint him that way to begin with MGSV. The idea that Big Boss was fighting against a global Illuminati and Solid inadvertently murdered the opposition of the Patriots in MG1 and 2 is more interesting than turning it into a black and white, good vs evil.

Bringing Big Boss back from the dead at the very end of MGS4 rather than have Snake just die in the graveyard was bullshit. Even Hayter and Kojima himself said they would have preferred a different ending from the one that we got.

It sounds like it's pretty much exactly on the same level.

I'm glad Hayter isn't part of this because his voice acting went to shit in MGS4 and Peace Walker.

I was wrong. It CAN get worse.
So you're telling me that Outer Heaven, everything that Big Boss lived for, is now created by a random dude on the wrong helicopter at the wrong time. PLEASE STOP THIS MADNESS.

Big Boss in MG tried EVERYTHING to stop Solid when he finds out he was too good. He even tells him to abort the mission at one point.

Yes, it was. Still nowhere near the level of bullshit as playing as a nobody in place of Big Boss, though.

It sounds like it's pretty much exactly on the same level.

None of those involve playing as a body double.

Metal_Gear_MSX_Screen_75.png

Don't forget the post credits part of the first Metal Gear game, in which Big Boss apparently sends out a radio message, with the intent that Solid Snake will hear it, claiming that he isn't dead and that he'll get even with him some day. So, if these spoilers are true, the real Big Boss would be getting even with Snake for killing a body double that was either pretending to be Big Boss or brainwashed to believe that he was Big Boss.

Oh man, see this is why this nonsense is great, because that's how I saw it.

Ha ha sure. -__-
It objectively did though, in MGS4 I liked it, it made sense for Old Snake, so it was fine.
But in PW there was no excuse and at times it felt straight up like I was getting a sore throat listening to him, MGS2 and 3 were WAY, WAY better.

Sooooooooooooooooooooortaaaaaaa this. I mean i don't really mind we don't play as the real BB but the final stuff is just...it's not like Kojima's going to remake MG1 and MG2 now so there's no need for it.

Go back earlier in this thread. I posted that the PLAYER for the most part is Venom Snake and we would feel betrayed when we found out our "Hero" Big Boss was manipulating us from behind the scenes.

Look at the reactions in this thread. LMAOO. PLaying the games for so long and knowing Kojima this was ALWAYS going to be the end result.

That makes even less sense. I desperately hope this one is just someone screwing around with the spoilers we already have and putting it into the wrong context, because how do you explain Snake still killing the real Big Boss in Zanzibar that is still in the timeline? If he was good the whole time and didn't intend for the events of the first game why would he go on to repeat them and express guilt at the end of MGS4?
