Soooo I've just made the silly connection as to why it's called Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain... V stands for Venom Snake, and of course we all know he's also eventually referred to as The Phantom (even in the hospital scene the doctor says "tomorrow you become a phantom")

I believe color is set for each arm type.
Default - red.
Stun - yellow.
Blast - black.
Wisp - blue.

This is the part of the game where you'll mostly be replaying earlier missions on harder difficulty settings, though. Expect to see the streamer be stuck on a few for a while, LOL.

How does the story progress if you just do old missions with a higher difficulty? I want new missions. :[

That's the thing, they technically are new missions (at least, that's how they're presented) but content-wise, they're identical to earlier missions, just with a more difficult "rule set". So, the story won't progress at all until you do them. You'll recognize them by their extra label:
- [EXTREME], which means very hard difficulty (and no Buddies, IIRC)
- [SUBSISTENCE], you get send in naked; weapons and items are all OSP (No Buddies, too)
- [PERFECT STEALTH], getting detected is an instant Game Over (no Reflex Mode either)
I struggled the most with Perfect Stealth (although DeeDee definitely helped me out there), especially as the missions with that label featured LOTS of soldiers. Subsistence was easily the most fun.

Good lord, the "Phantom Pain" song is incredible as an original song made to feel 80s.
A trailer with that would have been amazing, should have been in the launch trailer.
Reminds me so strongly of Mass Effect, because it's very similar to M4 Part II Faunts, the thought of MGSV having that feel makes me even more hyped.

She can be hit with the water gun, but the skin/parasites absorbs it like the shower. Ocelot explained that she drinks by showering.
Isn't the water gun supposed to be super effective against her and the skull units?

Yes, there's also the photosynthesis aspect that's explained in the same conversation. Everyone who called it out for being fan service should be ashamed. It's totally unlike putting Paz in her underwear for the final battle of Peace Walker, and it was important that Quiet be a naked woman with an important story explanation totally unique and unlike anything we were given with The End in MGS3 (the only male and consequently fully clothed sniper we've gotten in an MGS title, who also used photosynthesis for energy but without the necessity of being stripped down to his undies).

The end had lungs and was able to breath normally, Quiet doesn't seem to be able to breath normally, I think that has something to do with the parasites. So there is a difference :>

it was safe to assume thats what happened. but yea unless a flashback comes and shows it, its a off screen death. Amanda didnt seem too torn up about it according to the Cassette tape. Hell Snake was more upset about than her in that tape.

Not really the point I was making. As far as I am through it, she still seems at odds with the story's tone. She fits with the campy melodramatic MGS1/3 vibe but feels wildly out of place in V when you start extracting child soldiers from war zones in Africa.

Well the events of GZ did happen because of Chico's actions if you think about it. Also a 13 (14?) year old kid surviving a helicopter crash at how it was shown in GZ? Unlikely.
yeah snake said the same thing "he knew the risks joining us?" yet he was kinda forced by snake in PW if i remember right. he just grew into it.

I beat the EXTREME version of the Quiet boss fight by having Mother Base drop sleeping gas on her.
