Solid didn't believe he was a hero or believe in legends but any outsider could see he was.

Big Boss, in his own words, completely bought into the whole mythos of 'Big Boss' but any outsider who knew the truth could see it was hidden in lies and exaggerations.

Could almost see Medic Boss being angry enough to eventually try to taint the BB legend, leading to the world domination kick in OH.
 
Now that the whole game is spoiled I can skip every cutscene and establish my god emperor impenetrable FOB while people are still watching story sequences.

Spoilers confirmed the REAL way to experience games.
 
This whole thing is a veiled critique on the Great Man theory of history.

The theory says that every remembered hero tends to be have his image overinflated. Things like luck, unnamed allies and networks, support systems tend to be ignored.

Thomas Edison is good example. We think he's just one man tinkering in his lab. He was a businessman with many employees working under him.

For Big Boss there's Kaz, Ocelot, Venom Snake and of course Zero all helping him create this image of legendary solider, yet he gets the credit.

He was Big boss.
 
Eva followed Zero's orders to hide BB at Cyprus despite having been on BB's side of the 1972 schism.

SIGINT took over the whole Patriots operation when Zero died, facilitating the growth of the AIs.

No, it shows that anyone can be a super soldier/hero/leader. Legends are all pointless. Just tall tales used to influence people.

The clones are even more pointless but that's the tragedy of LET. They're a futile attempt at manufacturing fated traits and even knowing so they fought to break free from it all.
 
I literally used my hand to block the posts, and clicked post reply. I'm playing and have done a few side ops and up to the 6th mission in the campaign.

I want to know, is Quiet "hidden" like D-dog was? Meaning, by just doing the mission you won't see them.

Didn't Snake get sent back to his cell after each time he got tortured? Prime opportunity to go to the bathroom.

Also are we 100% positive there is actually a third ending? I forgot where that info even came from. A guide? Was it translated correctly or is it just speculation?

I think the real ending can be only unlocked fi you do sth special the japanese way like always, like in DMC3 and DMC4 where you need to beat many enemies while the credits are rolling to see the real ending or the rest of it.
 
From Fox two phantoms were born. Ahab is the first Phantom , who si the second? Or maybe Ahab was Big Boss' phantom until the latter became his own phantom by doing the job under the curtians? Or is there really another phantom ?

i got what happened, i just don't understand whose pin it was, why did it mean so much to the Boss. I just checked the Boss's wiki, and she meets David Ohh (Zero) that year.
