told my bro to go find her and the event didn't trigger D:

I think you have told be told some information about local events first.

I found her at the ruins, during the mission
where you gotta get huey

it then jumped to a main mission event

that sniper battle's really fun!

cheers lads. I already experienced it but it was early game and i bossed it with the tranq pistol lol. Glad to know he won't miss it.

Need help for a mission, but it's super deep in the game - around the 35 hour region, so it will be tagged.

Who has done Mission 39, Extraordinary? Where's that fucking film, the intel photo is too fucking vague

God damn this game. I will spoiler tag this post as I'm unsure what is and isn't considered a spoiler and don't want to ruin anything for anyone

That fucking intro was amazing. Is Ishmael dead then? I really wish more games did this whole extended intro thing (Last of Us intro was also excellent). I'm probably on main mission 5? Can't quite remember, but it's around there. I have mostly spent my time on side ops trying to get a hang on the stealth gameplay. I can get decently far into clearing an outpost or base without any alerts, but shit usually breaks loose just before the end and I have to switch to full auto hahaha.

My interpretation
is that Ishmael is a figment of Snakes imagination. The shrapnel has damaged your brain so that you hallucinate (which is also confirmed in a very early tape). He is just something Snake makes up to manage to get out alive when he is so weak. A lot if things in the intro makes me believe that a lot that happens is extremely exaggerated by the damage in snakes head. Like the fire horse and the whale; it's either hallucinations or illusions made by young Psycho mantis (god I want it to be Psycho Mantis).

On one of the rocks/pillars right in the middle. Equip night vision goggles and you'll see a tiny object stand out.

Also did not like the prelude, it was really boring.. it looked nice and was cool but it felt like a waste of time honestly.. The debut trailer was basically an edited version of that and was better lol

Seems I'm one nvidia driver behind, hopefully that fixes this.

I want to ask you about Dragon: The Game.

wow. Thank god I never watched any trailer then. For me it was a totally fresh an genuine experience!

I think my only reason for existing in this game is to be shirtless with Dhorse, stampeding into outposts with a shotgun and killing everyone

Just press R2 beside them. It's not a salute but the staff still appreciate it.

I like to grab them in a chokehold, put a knife at their throat, and ask them where my fucking diamonds are. It's hands on leadership like this that makes me such a beloved, respected figure.

I'm about 26 hours into the game. Some stuff about Mother Base, side ops, and story:
On the Medical Deck, I noticed one of those red doors turn green, and going through it led to some big events, which fed off one of the sidequests. Advancing the sidequest chain opened up small scenes there.

Upon further investigation of the base, it looks like every deck except the Command Deck has at least one of these doors. For me, most of them are still red. I wonder what it will take to open up the rest...

Did 4 missions and a couple side ops. Also found D-Dog along the way.

Tried to tranq a bear and it fucked me up good. Felt like a good place to stop lol

I just randomly entered one of the doors on my mother base and got a completely unexpected cut scene
(it was in the medical bay)
. Are there any more of these doors hiding around in my base that I should know about?

I already visited Huey a few times as well.

Probably the weakest opening few hours of the main games IMO.1, 2, 3, and 4 all had me by the balls with their openings but this one fell flat even with all the spectacle. Then most of these initial missions are very simple with unimpressive scenario design that would probably feel like busywork if not for the sublime mechanics. After ~8 hours I still haven't had that little moment of "Yeah this is why I'm playing MGS." Haven't even had a single gunporn cutscene or conversation :(

Could someone please pin point me to where I can find Quiet,
Ive just completed mission 6, Which I beleive is the mission you're supposed to find her? but she was nowhere to be seen.
Thanks.

Downloaded in the morning - steady at 21 Mb/s - finished in ~ 13minutes. But i have to work till 5pm :(

3 hours to go.

Is there a fast travel of some sort? I thought you could take the chopper from one lz to another but I tried it and ended up back at mother base

Played 5 hours, and it's pretty damn good. Prelude was a bit slow till the end, but I enjoyed it. Game overall plays better then GZ. Kinda bummed I haven't been able to get my save transfered. Hopefully that will be fixed by the time I wake up. Onto mission 5 when I resume.

Loving it so far. played about 5 hours and it seems like there is so much to do :). Has anyone on PC been able to get online?

It will come, man. All those first missions are basically tutorials.

Seriously, shit steps up on all fronts, and I'm only at 14 hours or something.

Edit: that said, it really doesn't feel like an MGS game. Only has moments.

FUCK ME why are you saying this!?

I wish I could just buy a European ps4 and this game and play it now but I'm traveling and won't be back until October!

;___; this thread is painful to watch.
Same here man same here, not going back to the states until 1st week of Oct :/

Srs question because I have work all day and things to do with gf later. If I sit her down at the end of the night and present the intro of TPP to her as a movie, will I get away with it? She gives no fuck about games, so minimal controller use would be ideal.

It's pretty obviously a game, but it is very bloody cinematic.

Somebody in the review thread said their GF watched it with him and they played it together all night, she was hooked, and she wasn't into games

It has a plenty of controller use.

Are the day one pre-order weapons worth it? Caved in and bought a digital copy but still have a pre-order on Gamestop. Still undecided if it's worth getting a second copy. :/

not that i know of,,

The moment you take the chopper (as in pick up from battlefield), you then have to pay for gmp for your next deployment..

the best thing is just wander around picking up side quest and main mission as you free roam, then use a supply drop if you ran out of ammo, way cheaper than going back to the chopper.. if you choose a main mission while free roaming (not at the chopper or at the mother base), there will be supply at the mission start point,,

but still, you need to go back to motherbase often to boost staff morale.. i just had an uprising back at the mb because i spent to much time on the field..

edit : one thing i notice is that the enemies literally adapt on how you play.. i use tranq gun and headshot a lot, then one time i overheard enemies talking to each other about this helmet shipment.. then my next mission,, a lot of enemies are using helmet.. which cannot be penetrated by the tranq gun..
