Guess I ended up installing the PC version after all.
The blurriness of the Xbox One port was kind of getting to me.

And if not, will they patch it in?
You can when he's grown up.
As a puppy? How!? HOW!?

I must know!

Edit: oh... it was a question -.-'
You can't As far as I know. You get a cutscene where you pet him though
maybe a dumb question, but how do you get your chopper to play custom music when it comes in for a landing or drop?

Not a dumb question. Trying to figure that out myself...
Select a song and press Square. You have to get the adequate helicopter upgrade first though.

Quiet spoilers :
they are blasting music in her cell...dat psychological warfare

I'm 20 hours into the game and only have a 27% completion, which I just passed
that GOD DAMN DIFFICULT FUCK YOU SKULLS mission
(Mission 29). Having fun with extracting soldiers for my motherbase and leveling up the groups. I'm gonna take a longggg time to play this game that's for sure!

So glad that Kojima's last MGS is a masterpiece as well. And not to mention the OST of this game....damn. Quiet's theme and Sins of the Father is sooooo goooood.

No mercy.

I for one love the Big Boss falls down a lot-show

I understand the need or want for realism but that part just takes forever to get going. Then there is the part after
the massacre where you're hiding from the guards who are checking the beds
. That just feels unnecessary and again crashes the pacing. Not to mention the Man on Fire sequences which kinda lose their luster after the third time.

Is it OK to let the auto-assign feature do the work with recruits? Does it put people in the best department? Do you need to go manual to get better results?

lol.

Bond not quite maxed out yet but nearly there
She'll give me a proper lapdance soon I hope

This is killing me. Kojima has no shame.

The game is so much fun. Even though it often recycles areas for missions, it really doesn't feel like the same place each time. The variety of guard patrols, different objectives, and methods you can use make each mission more unique than you would think. Tackling the same place at day and night makes a huge difference in your strategy. Some places are seemingly unrecognizable based on the time of day. Also I'm surprised at how much stuff I missed the first time I run through a place.

I really wish the MB development stuff didn't take place in real time though, or at least would keep going even after you close the game. It seems so pointless.

Its unbelievable this game doesnt have a toggle binoculars option. For something used so extensively, nobody wants to hold in a should button and click in a stick at the same time.

The funny thing is, what is on the tap right should button is a camera center - like anyone uses that in 2015. A huge misstep that still lingers from Ground Zeroes. This will likely never be changed - but no clue how it was ever missed.

Stellar game otherwise.

Fuck the daily log on bonuses.

Start game in online mode, oh I'm being invaded, oh I get connection error over and over when trying to defend it.

Oh, now I just lost several levelson my staff groups, in my single player.

Good riddance Kojima.

Welp. Good to know. That would piss me off to high heaven.

Man the intro-intro is soooooo good (Man Who Sold the World part). I actually deleted my save that was like 2 hours in just so I could play / watch it again. Has to be some of the best audio mixing in any game scene ever.... When headphones come off and you hear it to your left still playing.

Like...in a bad way? Kind of like the idea of Kojima just nonchalantly setting ablaze the whole MGS series and fandom on his way out the door.

Not in a bad way at all. Up until this point, all MGS games have felt like an evolution of the original MGS, but with V it feels like has completely changed for the better. Stealth, combat, and the game world have massively improved. That said, deep down it still has the essential MGS feel.

thnx, I'm quite bad at this game. Took me atleast 30 times to rescue Miller without the Soviets detecting me.

It assigns people according to their best stat. 95% of the time it's the best option.

Sometimes you'll want a particular item. Maybe it needs Level 20 R&D and Medical. You might have Level 21 R&D and Level 19 Medical. You might have someone who is an A Rank R&D, and B Rank Medical. So if you moved that person from their default assignment you might be able to level up your Medical, whilst levelling down your R&D, but enabling you to develop that particular item.

The prologue definitely has pacing issues and is too drawn out. They needed to have cut some stuff and trimmed other parts. As it stands, it becomes repetitive at points and boring at others.

I enjoyed it the spectacle of it all, but yeah, definitely too much hand holding, they took control away from the player far to often, only to give it back for 45 seconds, and then take it away again.

I think my GZ save is busted. It seems I got three or four troops, with the KojiPro logo on their face, but nothing else. My mate got Kojima, but he's not present in my file. Cannot be arsed running GZ to fix it.
You don't unlock them all at once. They unlock over time from multiple missions.

I am around mission 29 right now, so spoilers up until that point

This game became metal gear in it's truest craziest sense. Virus that targets language...wat !?

Put in 10 hours today. I think that's enough. Mostly fun, even if I'm pretty disappointed with some elements. Highs are very high.

It does ok most of the time, but I have noticed it not putting people in their best category, but that might have been because I was up against a cap limit. Most of the time, it's on D level characters anyway.

It's still useful, in case you have a guy with 2 really good stats, and you need him more in another department than where he/she's at.

Are there any benefits for being completely non-lethal besides the extra points? I had everyone in that first little town (the one before Miller) wake up almost simultaneously once I got the intel, so getting out was a bitch lol. I feel rushed to complete a mission when I knock someone out.

Yeah I found blueprints for some kind of riot gun. Can't develop it yet but it looks cool.

The lame thing is that it's a secondary weapon, so you can't equip your tranq pistol and the rubber bullet SMG at the same time.

I have an assault rifle that I've never used and carry a sniper rifle on my back. I can't wait for the tranq sniper rifle, that's going to open up a lot of gameplay possibilities.

There was some talk that the game automatically gets rid of your worst soldiers if your MB gets filled up and you keep fultoning people. Has this been confirmed? Cause I've been fultoning like a mofo

Two very early questions (not spoilers):

1. Where do I find an interpreter lol
2. Is there an easy way to pause and play tapes? It's annoying fumbling with the iDroid every time Kaz interrupts.
