Are there enough cool moments in this game for someone to make a post like the GTA V one where people talked about all the small details in the game?

Already mentioned this but try to shoot Ocelot with the tranquilizer gun, he can say some fun stuff.

Including a popular MGS2 quote.

Did a few side-ops with Quiet, which consisted of her killing literally everything that moved while I completed objectives.
I think this is the start of a beautiful partnership.

Just done a mission very similar to this.

Was a complete stealth one which meant no reflex mode and any sort of detection was an instant mission fail. I quickly realised though that that only applied to me. Quiet was free to cause as much chaos as she wanted, which she duly did, allowing me to freely wander around an empty outpost to complete the mission.

Felt like a massive cheese, but what the hell.

I mentioned this yesterday, but one of the most annoying things about this game are the beginning intros to a mission. They spoil the damn game for you... I don't want to see "Starring Skullface" or "Starring Important Character X" is going to make an appearance.

I have no idea why they would do something so dumb like that.

So question for after chapter 1.

Do I have to do these subsistence missions? This ones kind of dumb since I have to take out a dish but have no explosives and the only weapon around that will work is the rpg one of the guys is carrying.

I don't even pay attention to the words on the screen when those intros pop up.

Is a 100% completion file from GZ needed to unlock all the bonuses from uploading your save? Because I am at 90% with all trophies completed, but I have yet to S-rank all hard missions.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

I have a feeling a lot of shit went down between the developer and publisher during this game's development, some things just doesn't seem right.

I can't believe I'm back here, again, with the same fucking complaint, but here goes:

THE SKULLS ARE THE FUCKING WORST MGS ENCOUNTER OF THE SERIES. There, I said it.

Every encounter with them is the most infuriating thing this game has to offer. I'm now just finding Code Talker and am trying to escape, the chopper's down, and I have to kill these fucks. Only they're faster than the speed of light and no matter how many rockets I hit them with, they don't die. I don't get how something like this gets passed off as "fun".

Holy shit I'm frustrated.

/endrant

Any. Tips. Please?

Question about a certain sniper everyone knows about but spoilering anyways, it's the first time you meet her:
If I take her down with a normal sniper rifle (deplete her red health) will she be recruitable still or will she just be dead?
Supply drop, that is how I did it.

Just met LATER GAME SPOILERS
Eli. "It's not over yet Snake" during the fight just confirmed suspicions. Also, motherfucker's got a conch shell and a pigs head. I half expected to find a fat kid dead outside on the rocks.

Firstly, make sure you have the correct gear. Battle dress if you have it, rockets, everything like that.

Secondly, keep running and put distance between yourself and them.

If they try to melee you, you have a small window to counter them and deal damage to them.

They are grim fights though, there's not a single SKULLS encounter I enjoyed.

D-Walker. It's basically a mini metal gear so remember to use it for what it's best at.

Miller just said something about no room for the rescue animals so they're being housed at MB and said something about visiting them, but I missed that part. Where would they be?

JJJJEEEEESSSSUUUUUSSSSSS, it's awful on 360.

20fps average, awful shimmering effects and pop-in, long loading times, etc.

Thank God last generation is on it's last leg.

Back to PS4, trading this in tomorrow.

Thanks, I'll try both of these. I just can't get over how jarring it is to go from going thru mission after mission after mission, no matter how challenging or simple, but having that sense of progress and accomplishment, yet as soon as I get to
these guys
, brick fucking wall. Every time.

When you fulton a container just get on top and it will bring you back to MB.

What on earth possessed you to buy this on 360 anyway?

I hate them too.
Because I'm a non lethal player so those regenerating shields are a fucking nightmare to deal with. I thought D-Walker's flamethrower would melt the shields away - nope... Plus they would just spam their rust gas on D-Walker to make it unusable.
For that particular fight I just rocket launcher and shot gunned the shit out of them. Sorry I don't have any better advice. Make sure to do the QTE's when they get close to attack, it takes out a nice portion of their shield/health.

I love that some missions can be done in a couple of minutes... or take an hour.

Mission 14
I ran to the interpreter, killed his buddies. Extracted him and the prisoner, then ran near the town sensing 'oh shit I gotta find him before they kill him', DD saw a prisoner a ways away, sniped the guard. Extracted the prisoner. Mission over, 5 minutes. S Rank. Madness

Just unlocked Quiet so I'm trying to figure out how to use her properly. And need to build the bond so she eventually gets the supressed gun. Then the true game begins.

My experience also.

Each of the hardest missions in the game I can remember off memory involved encounters with them. Brick wall is exactly right. I fucking DREADED it when their name popped up in the intro credits.

There is one encounter with them which is absolutely awesome though. It's not all bad.

Haven't had time to play this yet, but to the people who have played both this and The Witcher 3.

Which would consider better?

I read sumit saying the zoo platform only becomes visitable after mission 25. But I can't verify that myself.

I noticed there is a random platform to the north-east of my command platform on the idroid map. Its not connected to anything, no bridges or anything. What's that about?

That has nothing to do with Konami disputes, it's just part of the TV/episodic approach Kojima is going for in this game (vs. the overtly cinematic approach for the previous games).

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

They are pretty different. Witcher's world is amazingly complex with NPCs, MGS doesn't have that. MGS takes the cake in gameplay options though, it is so fluid in how it can transition from stealth to action depending on how you go about the tasks.

I didn't even think of that...I feel dumb.

Hope it works for you.

Go on top of the hanger, pick them off one by one.

Done.

Well i completed the game, got the "true" ending (got around 75% and some side ops left, maybe some secret missions, did a lot of the side ops as well before i did the story)
(no, not skull face ending, but the ending that Big Boss discovered he was a impersonator for Big Boss ending, lets see what they wrap up next (but i don't expect much anymore). Btw the whole "you are not really Big Boss" was so obvious from the beginning, it was the shitty part of the story, the rest was good, shame they went this way instead of a Outer Heaven game.

Story was/is good, love all the good explanations for all the events, even the ones that cant exist (in the real world), compared to games using the "magic" or "nanomachies son!" trick

Well, ill just see wat happens next, just some side ops left.............. :(

Unlimited Capacity
This game plays well and all but.... I don't really like playing it. I dunno, I am basically forcing myself to go in. It seems every little thing bothers me to no end. The mission objective thing bothers me, long travel distances, having to listen to tapes, constantly going back to mother base and just everything. Even now I am sitting in the chopper idle because I just don't want to do anything on offer.
