Quick question: after you complete a side op, is it ok to just hit the menu and return to ACC? Does calling a helicopter do anything?
its fine thats what I do to blast through side ops

Do you still pay for the chopper?
I guess major props need to go out to Python Selkan for finding that Hair Shadow thing in GZ. I guess that means we can consider it a simulation for Venom, much like the Tanker being VR for Raiden. Damn these games are so similar...!
Hey, he wasn't a terrorist, he was a freedom fighter.
The big picture in this game shouldn't really be the global threat possessed by Skull Face or Eli. Just like the big picture in MGS3 wasn't really the nuclear war, it was the politics being played around Snake and The Boss.
Freedom fighters don't fight for the sake of fighting. All BB wanted was a war economy including non stop war. He ain't no freedom fighter.
I think it supposed to be like Darth Vader. Fall from grace and rise back up (the whole /zero thing).
I like how 3 and 4 end it and I feel are the real endings to the series,
3 and 4 kind of show he was REALLY fighting Zero the whole time, even though it ruined his rep. Kind of like The Boss, ruined her rep though secretly was doing good.
Of course PW and 4 just seem to drop back in that he really is just a war loving bastard.
Questioning Huey [6] was incredible, by far my favorite tape in the game. Miller and Huey's VA killed it.
One thing that doesn't sit with me. In the "Truth" we are still shown Ishmael/Big Boss gunned down in the hallway AND gunned down by the attack helicopter. In the first instance we're clearly seeing him get salt and peppered in the first row of people then fall to the ground, then we're instantly pulled aside by him from another room. What gives? Just another case of unreliable narrator?
Agreed. For as many problems as I have with this game, Miller absolutely is not one of them. To me he's the sole saving grace. Robin Atkin Downes knocked it out of the goddamn park.
You are clearly overthinking this. It was just someone he thought was Ishmael because of the bandage. He wasn't sure were he actually went because of the crowd.

Miller is a problem for me.
There is no question his voice acting is excellent but he won't SHUT THE HELL UP. It's not Ground Zeroes bad but man it is still really bad.
EVERY TIME you finish a mission....Boss, we have received some new job offers. I have sent details to your iDroid. One of the CFA Knight agents sent in to monitor the Ki Long Go river Arms Trade was captured by rebel PF forces. My guess who funded them? Cipher. If word of his capture gets out it could spark ethnic conflict throughout the region blah blah blah. He is the single most annoying character in the series. Some people will say Rose but you can skip EVERY piece of Rose dialogue except for a 1 minute scene at the end. The only way you can interrupt Miller is with more Miller.

The worst:
You're extracting, him?
Why yes I'm extracting the damn person I'm supposed to be extracting! SHUT THE HELL UP KAZ

Don't destroy their anti air radar
The bit about Cipher is the bit I hate the most, like Zero literally tells Kaz that it wasn't him who attacked them 9 years ago and that it was a branch of Cipher gone rogue. He then tells him that he's keeping Snake safe and he'll be up and running in no time. Yet All the way through the the game Kaz is like "we need our revenge against Cipher" "Skullface is Cipher" "Cipher did this to us".Miller is a problem for me.

Nah. The worst is when Quarantining 200 people.
IT'S A TARGET IF I WANT IT TO BEDon't destroy their anti air radar, it isn't one of the targets.

Lmao.Spend 30 minutes doing that. Absolutely terrible. Might as well not given a fuck.

I hated it anyway before I heard the tape, when I eventually heard the tape I wanted to throw the pad at the TV.

Huey is absolutely a fucking cunt. But his dialogue about DD was amazing. Could really feel that he was grasping straws there. Everytime he was exposed with something I lol'd. But the Dogs disappointed me at the same time, they should be ruthless, they should've waterboarded him as per the trailer. And shot him when they judged him. The men asked for his head, it would make for a weak leadership if they don't act accordingly. Which they don't. I was with Miller there, the ass got away with it and probably survived as well.
It's kinda funny how Venom Snake is literally Skull Face when you learn about the twist.
Venom literally had his life stolen from him by Big Boss.
"His country, his family, his face, all stolen from him".

In a way, Venom kind of gives us that fall from grace thing we wanted from Big Boss in that it implies that BB already turned into a self-righteous motherfucker we all know long before TPP - at the very least, right after the first ending Peace Walker. Willing to pull this shit on a random MSF member as a means to an end.
Actually, now that I think of it, self-righteous motherfucker or asshole wouldn't be the right word but rather BB is just incredibly optimistic or to full of himself about his mission, enough lay it on another guy just like that and expecting him to pull it off for him. Eventually, the gamble turns on its head Venom becomes the demon as implied by the ending (well, that's what I got from the ending, visual cue wise).
That's wishful thinking from people who really want BB to turn evil, but so far nothing indicates he's turned into an asshole, and the cut audio scene even doubles down on both he and V just wanting to build a better future, but seemingly unable to do so in the end.

You don't think leaving Kaz to die without even telling him anything was not something an asshole would do?
No, he had him saved by V. Plus, Kaz is an asshole and worked for Cipher anyway, boo hoo.
On an unrelated note, I'm pretty sure BB never goes back to Foxhound. The whole 1984/Big Brother stuff with Kaz in chapter 2, and the fact that he is outright dressed like BB in MG1's concept art (trench coat, tie, etc.), it makes me think Miller will go work for the US and use the BB name for their end. It parallels Big Brother and how he is a myth, a legend, where his true origins or if he event exists is unknown, and INGSOC uses Big Brother for propaganda purposes.
I enjoyed aspects of the story/ending. Doesn't mean I have to either like/love it all or hate it all and I'm sure others are the same as well.

But Snake knew both Master Miller and BB as separate people.
We don't know that, we don't know how BB is involved in Foxhound exactly. For all we know he never meets him face to face, he's just the CO of the organization but runs things from behind the scene. It remains to be seen. In 1984, Big Brother is never seen by anyone directly, yet people think he is alive and in command, but in reality he's just a fabrication used to control people.

It's weird because they murder people for their job but they don't want to execute someone who betrayed them 9 years ago, made weapons for Skull Face, betrayed his wife and murdered her, betrayed Diamond Dogs again by making the parasite mutate and killing even more people.
I can't believe Venom would let him live after all that. At least I get the satisfaction knowing Huey died horribly later.

edit: Plus, I think the LE manual or some such says the BB in MG1 speaking to Snake might be an AI. I don't know how literal that is supposed to be, we'll see. I still think the INGSOC website is related to all this, so we should get some sort of hint soon.
So did Emmerich actually know the nuclear inspection in Ground Zeroes was a ruse? His character is so full of shit that it's hard to know what he actually knew and didn't.
