When I started the Truth episode I was like "Ohhh shit the bandaged dude must be the real BB" and then the jumping and stumbling happened and I was like "Nah, weak, brah, weak. That ain't no Big Boss".

For what it's worth, Ishmael's performance in the hospital is the first time I really felt like I was witnessing the legendary charismatic Big Boss. Especially when he goes "I'll run interference" and jumps off the stairway shooting his gun sideways. The same way Solid Snake didn't feel like a legendary hero until viewed through a third person lens in MGS2.

This game needed more Big Boss. The Venom twist is fine. Good or even great. But this is about Big Boss... we needed more of him, player character or not.

What does this all mean?

Yeah, pretty much. This dude makes MG1 Outer Heaven, Big Boss makes MG2 Outer Heaven.

You have to go to the Medical Bay to see the Paz cutscene. It's a door near the top floor. Use your night-vision goggles to see which door.

Also, I don't think I ever said she had been raped. As for "busting a few nuts", she kills 2 soldiers by shooting/stabbing them in the perinea. The others have their throat cut / chest shot / etc

Hypnosis. Ocelot is an expert at it. They say something where the Medic experienced everything Big Boss has through some hypnosis. They Manchurian Candidated a comatose medic. And probably some Metal Gear future surgery to modify his voice.

Well, then the plot twist of the original MG makes no real sense then.

Paz is on the third floor of the medical bay, to get the cutscene you need, obviously the medical bay and to have completed the first wandering mother base soldier side op.

To get the full story complete all the other wandering mother base soldiers side ops (10 in total) I'd say return to base to see Paz after completing each one.

After all of those there will be a last memento just outside the room Paz's in, collect it go and see her and you'll see the whole story.

I'm still enjoying the story. Just like in Peace Walker, I like the tapes. They make a nice cooldown period after going on an intense mission. My biggest problem is that VS is so mute. Did anyone catch when Ocelot completely dodged VS' question to who Ishmael was? Or, if you have the subtitles on, when VS says Huey's name it's presented as "Doctor Emmerich?" with the parenthesis? The twist is not hard to spot.

Yeah I really loved that about the intro, and the intro in general was just awesome. Easily the best opening to a MGS game I think.

Man I disagree. It's horrifically paced. First ten minutes you're a guy strapped to a bed. Next 10 minutes consist of pseudo-gameplay of just pressing forward. Then it becomes a tutorial for the next 20 minutes.

Nah. The pre credits timeline says Big Boss was still in charge of MG1 Outer Heaven. Thats what we assume he went off to start.

The Phantom was just who Solid Snake fought and killed. So we have to assume BB and Venom meet again after MGSV.

But that level of hypnotherapy versus fooling yourself to be a different person is like comparing a puddle to a lake.

No. Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow are still crazy powerful with little explanation as to why.

For me The Sorrow's abilities are akin to Psycho Mantis's, as in he could feel what the dead could feel, in a more fine tune than Psycho Manti's who's blocked on "RAGE" setting.

As for why, parasites that evolved to five him these abilities.

Parasites pre-1995, Nanomachines after.
