I cannot fathom how stupid that ending was. I'm not big into Metal Gear but boy did that whole story feel merely supplemental by the time those credits rolled. I liked the game part of the video game, but I could not avoid covering my face with the palm of my hand after they pulled the curtain.

What an ending. I hate how it makes sense in the twisted logic of the series.

Finished the game and did all ten Paz memento missions, but I didn't get any payoff cutscene. Anyone have any idea why? Every time I visit her room, she's reading Galvez's book, drops it on the floor, and I can give it back to her, but that's it.

I had this, check for a photo hanging on a wall outside her room. Pick that up then see her.

Good if only hiimdaisy were still making let's destroy the metal gear comics.

My time to steam the concept maybe

someone tried to do an MGS4 one and she ordered to take it down, she has more or less disowned them for reasons that may or may not be related to Tumblr.

There's an 11th Memento just outside her room.

Lol really? Dang peachi, that's cold.

I'm kinda really bummed how much the story stuff is bumming me out from actually going back and replaying stuff. I want to do mission objectives and side ops but without quiet and playing as V it just doesn't seem as appealing anymore

So does anyone know why the colours fade away when you're close to death but then heal yourself? Also it makes a really weird sound when you're close to death. I almost got killed by a bear just now so this is my first time seeing all of this. The only other time I've noticed other strange sounds is when you turn towards the sun/walk into sunlight from a room or a tent.

am i missing any of the coma/resurrected crew. i'm not counting the boss ai.

I think that's pretty much all of them.

yeah but then Kojima can't use him to explain anything in the MSX games because Grey Fox infiltrated Outer Heaven, was captured, and then helped Solid Snake before disappearing (not into a coma), unless he says there's 2 Grey Foxes.
I know, I'm just saying its funny how he and Venom have the same role in regards to BB.

regardless as far as I'm concerned the only thing that actually happened in MG1/2 is Solid Snake beat some guy calling themselves Big Boss twice and everything else is unknown. I'm long past the point of caring if something contradicts those game.

It's really a shame how this game turned out, because Episodes 30 & 31 really had that "Metal Gear" feel that the rest of the game was terribly lacking. Easily the high point of the game, if you ask me.

Mission 30 proves linear levels with multiple pathways is better than completely open levels.

Still, it commits one of the worst sins by having a cutscene where you walk slowly and listen to a character talk. That is absolute trash in any game.

Also, I really was like "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK" when Code Talker explained his bacteria transformed the male parasites into females and induced changes in the host.

For a moment, I was expecting for the whole "Farewell sausage" theory to be true

I'd rather take this than the actual plot Twist lolilol

Lol I thought the exact same thing!

Also Big Boss wan in three comas. The one where Zero started LET project without Big Boss' permission, the one in GZ and the one post MG2:SS.

Especially when you can catch up with him and have to wait until you can move again when he is a certain distance from you.

That first one you mentioned was just a translation error in MGS1.

Kiefer face capture too expensive tho.

Well, his (probably literally) phoned in lines are seemingly too expensive too. Since he barely speaks in the tapes as well.

Yeah. I remember Greg Miller saying that Kiefer spoke a lot more in the tapes. He clearly doesn't, at least not a lot more than the cutscenes.

You can also go back to Paz later and she will give you a cut scene. :)

Now I have two questions about the ending and I would be really happy if someone could answer.

1. Eli got the 3rd tube of the language parasite from flying boy. What did he do with it? Cant remember it coming up in any other game.

2. What happens to Phantom Big Boss after MGS5: TPP?

Also I dont get all the hate for the story. Its a MGS game, they usually go like this.

1) Nobody knows. We will probably never know now.

2) He goes on to command/handle Outer Heaven's fortress in South Africa, and he gets skilled by Solid Snake in 1995.

Yeah, mission 30 its probably my favorite because of that. That awkward silence being padded out by sins of the father was kind of odd though.

Sometimes I really think I'm living in some kind of weird bizarro world. Not only do I think the story is freaking brilliant, and of course I'm referring to the twist more than anything, but I just don't see how anybody can have any gameplay complaints about this if you like other metal gears, because it basically takes what was great about them and amplifies the shit out of them.

Also, not only do I like the twist but I'm actually thankful for it. Instead of viewing this like we've lost part of the BB legacy, I see this game as really just adding another great Snake character to the series.

Venom Snake is all kinds of bad-ass. He's better than Big Boss.

You like what you like. Don't sweat it. Just enjoy it :)

I can say without a doubt that watching Snake and Skull face stare at each other for minutes on end as Sins of our Fathers played ranks as the third most awkward gaming experience I've ever seen.

The other two are watching the intro to FF X2 as a 12 year old, and watching Quiet strip down and dance in the rain with Venom.

This. I was spoiled on the Quiet eventually leaving part so as soon as I saw that the 45th mission in the Guide was called "QUIET EXIT" I fucking saved my game so hard onto a USB stick.

I've completed the game and have unlocked the final tapes... Should I just keep playing as I am, or backup my current post-ending save, reinstate my pre-Quiet Exit save and keep playing as though everything in the world is still peachy and that I didn't just lose one of the best companion characters in video game memory?

Because how the fuck am I supposed to choose?
