Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

Great O.T. Can't wait to get home and try 2.0 out.

The Destiny companion app just got an update for iOS for those of you that use it like I do.

Glad to see they're continuing the trend of making the maps from the previous expansion available to everyone.

In my games & apps what is the total size of Destiny after the patch? mine still sitting at 25GB and I got the new stuff, UI, updated tower...etc. thought this was like an 18gb update?

I actually have no idea. Is there? I was ballparking it.

So, where is the 60 dollars of value exactly? Just one zone? The fuck.

For $60, you're getting the original Destiny, The Dark Below, House Of Wolves and The Taken King. That's a hell of a lot of content.

Strikes, raid, subclasses, quests, more loot than the base game.

$40 is not a ridiculous asking price.

Isn't GS running a promo for $20 trade in for the base Destiny game? That makes the Legendary edition $40.

Can you rent the Legendary Edition? Is the DLC content including TTK included on disc or are they just download codes that come with a regular copy of Destiny?

I'm sure I know the answer but I can hope.

Very informative! I'm anxious to get home and see some of the new changes. I might be worth noting that there's a typo in the New Player Economy! section. Legendary Marks has an extra R.

I'm curious as to what the exchange rate will be when converting Vanguard & Crucible marks to commendation packages.

Nice, Still deciding on which version to get, Already own Vanilla and 2 DLC but would love to have all Digital.

I paid 60€ for a criminally barebones game last year. I don't feel like that's a 'hell of a lot of content' for 120€. Weren't The Dark Below and House of Wolves very minimal in terms of content?

The Dark Below was, but House Of Wolves was a great piece of DLC in my opinion.

Either way, the Legendary Edition is designed for newcomers to the game, not you. $60 is still a good deal for you though, you get the original Destiny back along with the ton of improvements, two expansions and The Taken King.

Yeah, no. I'm out then. I straight up refuse to put that kind of money down for an expansion with two new zones and a handful of quests.

You can trade in your copy to GameStop for $20 off TTK Legendary Edition, which makes it $40 with all the expansions

Yeah you keep saying 'good deal' but all I see is Bungie giving me the finger. I don't raid so i'll blow through the PvE content in a day probably. Not worth spending 60€ on a single zone.

Carry on.

bro, you were never that interested lmao

The fuck.

Haha whatever, Bungie aren't giving you the middle finger. Your loss.

There's a lot more than a single zone.

Edit:

I just realised you're the guy who posted this: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=177857660&postcount=13

Why are you even bothering?

Does anybody have any info on this?

I imagine it would be useful to know for people with slow internet/data caps as well.

If you're not even interested in half the content, stop complaining that there isn't enough content.

this is page 2 you should have been asking this weeks ago lol
You should see how foolishly I spent money on Destiny

got the white Destiny bundle last year

sold the disc to gamestop for like dirt cheap

last month got hyped about the changes so went and got a replacement copy at amazon for $20

later Pre-Ordered the digital $79 TTK from PS store

I don't even play PVP but Destiny had been the only FPS I could get into

to me the plan seems to be a Destiny fans will spend $40 - $80 per year to keep up with the updates (DLC / Expansions)

you should get out now if you are not a fan, it might be harder to catch up and get in at Year 3 or 4 unless the community has died off

I heard they removed public events or something in old zones? Is that true?

They removed the Pack of Wolves public events from the HoW dlc, but I'm pretty sure vanilla public events are still around. Or they've replaced them with Taken ones? Someone else probably knows better than me.

My update is still downloading....

Gamestop's not showing me this, only that my copy of Destiny is worth 7 bucks. Is this only for Xbone and PS4 versions?

The offer is not available until the 12th, that's why you're not seeing anything on their site.

For those of you playing crucible right now, can you rank the top 5 exotic primary weapons?

From what the streamers have been saying, Suros Regime and Hard Light are competent now. Thorn doesn't appear to be nerfed much aside from the 2 shot kill.

Read the OT but slightly confused. This is the patch that changes how the story missions are presented now right?

Yes.
