Made a new warlock and am a bit disappointed that everything is about the same
sans the new VO and things are a bit more "questy lorey"

gonna play my lvl 26 titan during the weekend and hope things are better with the new content :p
 
Man I'm so disappointed my PS4 didn't download the pitch in rest mode while I was at work...

Now PSN is being a piece of poop. :(

I remote played right when I first got in to be sure. Glad I did or that monster wouldn't have started. Try the ol pause and resume til it picks up speed. Usually works for me.
 
So, pvp still gonna be a lag filled mess? Been playing the trial to see how its shaped up, and ive had a LOT of issues with connection. It is most likely not on my end too, since ive got a solid 20-45 ping on any other games.

Patch notes mention networking improvements, although how much remains to be seen.

Networking
Reduced latency of kill notifications in Crucible
Improved damage validation systems to reduce the effectiveness of players with extreme lag
Improved accuracy of network quality meters slightly

Platinum just popped for me as soon as i logged in...all i needed was crucible points and that changed to level 1 which i've already been at...nice...

Ah.... Well, I hope the pve is real fun then. I'll end up playing pvp regardless, considering its the closest i can get to halo for now
 
Is there anyway to trade in armor mats for the new universal one yet?

Also anyone still opening up the menu to check quest/bounty progress? xD
 
Anyone having problems in Canada downloading the patch.

I read about all these issues on my way back from work, got home and learned my PS4 was out of space so the patch did not download.

I cleared up space and the patch downloaded quite quickly
 
I'm excited about almost everything in 2.0 except I'm dreading using The Last Word in Crucible after the nerf. That gun was such a beast.
 
Releasing this patch in the middle of the day was a truly terrible idea. Everyone is trying to download it all at the same time. I downloaded the FIFA 16 demo in about 7 minutes, but the Destiny patch, now that it has finally gotten past 2%, has been actively downloading for nearly three hours now and still has 15% to go.
 
Anyone having issues with the Defender subclass mission? It tells me to get Ward of Dawn kills inside of it, and I got 8/50 but now it won't update.
 
17 fucking gigs? Also, what is the point of having standby / updates on PS4 if it never fucking works? This update didn't start downloading until I came out of standby and logged in after work.. ffs.

Cause if I recall correctly, the PS4 only checks every so often. It doesn't check every second if there is an update.

Trading in original at gamestop if you have it physically once the deal starts and then buying the physical TTK package. It will be $40 for everything.

Did this thing work for anyone today? The Driveclub patch downloaded just fine today but this 18GB monster just sat there waiting for me to get home.
 
Joined my buddy who rolled a new character to see how changed up the leveling and quest system is, and found it to be largely the same. Not a good first impression but still have TTK on pre-order and will give it a fair shake next week, but I'm expecting to be burned again.

Pause the download, test internet connection and then resume it. Should help on time
 
So were all of the exotics supposed to become fully leveled even if you didn't use them much or at all? Three of mine went from barely having any XP in them to being fully leveled when I logged in after the patch. Maybe it's just the year 2 exotics that got the full bump because one of my chest pieces didn't. Everything else did though. Kind of weird. Oh well, saves me the trouble of needing to level it up.

And shotguns seem like they still wreck in PVP. I didn't think the patch would change much as far as that goes.
 
Gorgeous OT and very informative. I look forward to the new changes brought on with year two. I was kinda lukewarm on Destiny in the weeks after purchasing, but recently this summer I was able to play it and get into it for the first time. Going to take advantage of that Gamestop deal for sure. Hope to see you guys out there next week.

Just grab bounties and get to 20 as soon as possible, even though you get a free legendary weapon when you beat the gamw

Pause and resume, mine said 28 hours 5 minutes ago, now it says 18 minutes
 
Soooo to get this straight, I have Destiny + the expansions but not Taken King. If I start a new character now I get the 'new' levelling stuff?
