At this point an MGS game that time jumps from era to era, I think, would be awesome. Not sure who'd you'd want as the main character, but similar to Black Ops I can see a game that has numerous chapters with each chapter taking place during a different time period, fast-evolving a character we are already familiar with.

Also D Dog's fulton can be used to extract prisoners from about 50m away. I zoomed in on a prisoner out in the open, told him to extract and he went in past five guards and he just got the prisoner right out of there without an alert.

But Solid Snake wasn't in the game. David Hayter didn't keep us waiting. It was #TeamReal. The mad Doctor was just actually mad and not a Kojima publicity stunt. Chico wasn't Quiet.
Yeah, they were right on something that a lot of people guessed or speculated since long before the game was out, that there was something up with the Medic having Kiefer's voice but pitched down and Ishmael also having his voice in trailers when we knew Kiefer was the voice of Big Boss.

I'm watching some MGS4 cutscenes, and even though they're not as well directed or serious as MGSV, they're so much more satisfying. That layer of cheese makes it much easier to suspend my disbelief and not worry about the more questionable plot points.

I wish the game had more epic scenes like the one at mission 45.
There were way too many kill random dude, steal random stuff, free random guy missions.
I would be ok if that was for side ops but the sad thing is most of those missions were story missions too....

Complaints about MGS4's cheesiness in cutscenes is completely valid, but no one can deny that the cinematography itself is the best in the series. Camera angles, transitions, closeups. It was the peak of the series. Not the bullshit "shaky camera" Kojima abused for MGSV.

Man, fuck mission 28 on extreme. Managed to make progress by taking out two skulls with the anti-materiel rifle, then got instantly one-shotted by another one of the assholes.

On the contrary I thought MGS4 has the BEST directed cutscenes. V's insistence on getting everything on one take is so tiring after a while.
The shots where the FROGs assault Snake in both Act 1 and 2 are perfect and the composition of the graveyard scenes is masterful.

By well directed I was talking more about acting and subject matter than camera framing, sorry about not being more specific.
I can't stress this enough, you don't have to do a single extreme mission.
I finished the game without doing any hard missions.
If you don't progress in story just do more side ops.
Edit: ignore this if you finished the game already.

Shout out to the soldier with the parasite power of tunnel vision and selective hearing who didn't see Quiet's legs when he was shooting that snake or hear Boss yelling out after getting bit or Quiet twitching.
