The guy who made the ProjectOmega YouTube channel is a regular poster on reddit and confirmed yesterday that the videos on his page were fanmade as a personal ARG project, however, he also went to confirm that he is in NO WAY CONNECTED to the Black Hound website. He's just as curious as everyone else.

I'm not sure if his post still lives though since this morning the mods on the metalgear subreddit practically scrubbed all threads mentioning Black Hound despite it having relevancy to Kojima.

I see no harm in discussing what might be a timed announcement. And if it's fake, so what? The first thread on GAF about it was also locked and closed and now there hasn't been an actual place to talk about it with a large metal gear fanbase which is disappointing.

I'm #TeamReal and here's hoping to Kojima getting the last laugh.

edit: or #TeamReal technically since that was the more grounded realistic team. But in this case its reversed because I don't believe the 9/11 twist is real but ithat its fake but its a reverse of being on team fake but its still fake so thats why I put TeamFake instead of TeamReal

Nothing will happen. There is no point to any of this other than being one of the stages of grief. It'll be over in a week or two and then we can move on to acceptance or whatever is supposed to come next.

That's bullshit; the Ishmael video has a small picture of a black dog head flash on screen for a short bit. That video is 2 years ond. If you read the description of the videos in sequence, it says The Truth Is A Lie, Do Not Believe The Third Line. Those videos were posted a year ago.

Also that youtube page is still getting updated.

Actually I kinda like it. I wish there were more moments like this, not hidden in a corner of mother base. Showing how much they've all lost to actually show the descent into evil that we never really saw.
 
Didn't Solid Snake have 6 months to live at the end of mgs4 and some people thought the game would update 6 months later related to this, new cutscenes etc?
 
Not surprised to see /v/ flipping out about the fake ingsoc site.

Metal Gear and 9/11, it's like the perfect storm for 4chan users.

Ether_Snake should probably be banned if it turns out to be fake.

Well I don't think it technically said 6 months did it? the ending made it sound like he'd live for as long as the new virus kept the old one at bay, he would have died before the new virus mutated. But anyway yeah, people believed in a lot of wacky crap.

Next is to take a page from Mass Effect fans and send Konami Big Boss cupcakes so they can put in the full ending.

Don't forget the death threats of course, no gamer movement is legitimate without those.

No the new FOXDIE kept the old one at bay but his accelerated aging was still incurable and he probably had 6 months at most.

Even though some might feel sorry for Venom for being put through all this without asking him, the dude was super loyal to Big Boss, even going so far as to cover him from an explosion, and showing willingness to die for him. So I feel that he wouldn't object to becoming BB's Doppelganger, which he ultimately accepted at the end. The man was the perfect soldier.

Why should I be banned?

I made a good contribution today! I showed that the Zanzibar command post map in MG2 looks like the Twin Towers. Is it a coincidence, or did Kojima go "neat" when looking back at it and retconned it into something bigger? We'll see:)


Edit: Also I don't believe in any fancy patch, MS and Sony charge a lot for that, publishers don't want to waste money on them. A DLC ok, but there's no way you'll download extra MGSV chapters for free.

It really is the case isn't it. I really enjoyed reading all those fan theories before the game came out, so many interesting ideas which probably made this entire thing all the more disappointing for me.

The bit that I still don't get from MGS4 was how Snake wasn't cooked

Like, yeah FOXDIE isn't an issue anymore but he still got microwaved for a good few minutes.
 
So what were everybody's favourite moments overall?

My probably no. one favourite moment was wandering into the ruins and getting blasted off my horse and getting immediately thrust into a boss battle with Quiet. That was the fucking promise of an open world; wandering somewhere and then a cutscene just suddenly happening and OH SHIT YOU GOTTA DO THE THING. That was so fucking cool. Sucks that was essentially the only moment of that in the entire game. Also I managed to sneak up on her but you can't CQC choke her, fucking bullshit (makes sense tho, but you can't even grab her, wtf).

Second was Mission 43. The "Let's let boss decide what to do!" room really sucked. And by sucked, I mean it was powerful.

and sucked.
 
I don't see how people expected BB to shoot kids. He leads soldiers, he wants to give them a chance to continue to live as they only can, he's not a mustache-twirling villain.
Edit: my fav was the hospital, and any scene where V interacted with Liquid, the characters felt real, loved the dynamic.

Big Boss didn't kill any kids. Diamond Dog does, off camera, behind the scenes he's killing every child solider that BB rescues. He's really the demon of the story

Probably should have told Kojima that before he started the advertising, especially since the slogan in Japan was 'become a monster'. I genuinely thought we might get a dark story, but we didn't in the slightest. Venom might just be the nicest protag of them all actually.

I'm not sure what I expected from the scene, but with all the talk about taboo I figured Kojima might actually take a risk and try push gaming toward a broader future, where we can cover the details that other mediums can and do. He even went as far as to say the risks he is taking may see him out of the industry. Well none of them showed up at all. The guy really did sell us on a story he never made.
