lame, should have atleast been in medbay with Paz in those hallucinations.

Would have been nice if Amanda was in the game somewhere and we see her angry at Snake for letting it happen. How it's all his fault for letting Chico join his army and letting him go off and try and find Paz and how she's been holding on tot hat anger for 9 years.

But nah, we need to bring Paz back so we can put her in a ludicrous hospital bikini and tell you she is alive but not really she's still dead.

Don't understand why your FOB can be invaded when you're offline.

How does that even make sense.

I love that it can now as I have over 10 supporters to step in an defend me when I'm away and my defence is so good that no-one has got through in at least the last 20 attempts, but early on it's a bugger.

Once you're upgraded though, a successful defence while you're away means free resources when you next log on. It's wonderful to see 1,000 processed fuel waiting for you.

I developed everything I can for the base and bumped up all the automatic defence settings and it's failed 2-3 times.

this is kind of hilarious considering you spent 99% of the game not knowing he was a fake

unless, of course, you hung around the spoiler thread a before you got it. in which case it's still hilarious

There were many hints in the game without having to read a spoilers thread.

The green eye, the binocular-patch, the IA Pod and Huey saying "Jack, is that you? No..."/"Boss, is this really you?", the reflection in the chopper (your avatar's face shows up in the reflection), the fact that the real Big Boss never had any horn or missing arm, the e-cig, the fact that Eli's DNA Test came up as negative (it could mean he wasn't Liquid... or Venom Snake wasn't the real BB), the missing snake-shaped scar on his chest from PW when you select "naked" suits in the Sortie Prep screen. I might have missed a few of them, but yeah, I knew it the whole time, but still loved the "Truth: The Man Who Sold the World" chapter.

Especially when I saw: "Big Boss... Benedict "Kazuhira" Miller... Revolver "Shalashaska" Ocelot... Punished "Venom" Snake"... KNEW IT. But I loved how the original intro chapter was cut to make you doubt and put the blame on the coma and possible hallucinations. (it really sounds like I'm the only one who loved the story here...)

Mid range lethal and make sure you've got the last battle dress.researched as well, set them to use 5* gear and they should even have helmets to stop.headshots. I'm pretty good at infiltrqtion but my God, training on my base is impossible.

This matter of you're on PC though, too many cheaters.

You're not the only one although I liked the story for different reasons, didn't care for the twist but I went in expecting something much crazier and dumber.

So I just completed side ops 145-149. Got the cassette tape that says Eli wants to speak with "father". I went to MB... No cutscene. Where the heck do I go to speak with Eli. What am I missing?
I was confused by this too. Keep playing side ops and eventually it will just trigger. They send you the tapes implying major shit is going down on MB, then when you get there nothing still happens until you do more side ops and are automatically sent back to base... this is the same case for an incident with another character that will come up later, only I ended up triggering Miller sending me the same tapes twice for some reason before doing another 3 side ops with the third time actually triggering the cutscene of Big Boss finally intervening. I thought it was bugged at first.

I think it might be a disappointing ending on its own, but I like how it fills the gap between GZ and MG1 (even though it's not the real BB and all of this was a diversion for the real BB to found OH... but that's the whole point). I'm satisfied with it.

Really? Cutting parts out is such a cheap tactic. It's crappy story telling.

So too is all the stuff that makes no sense at all but we're meant to blindly except. E.G Ismail having two eyes or the medic having the same voice and skills as BB.

Don't you mean Zanzibar Land?

Has it been confirmed anywhere the "true" Outer Heaven is referring to Zanzibar Land? The credits timeline makes it sound like it could still be MG1's Outer Heaven with Venom taking over eventually, because OH is sure as hell not Diamond Dogs' Mother Base.

I took the timeline to be that Venom creates the MG Outer Heaven. The Snake kills him and BB comes back and does MG2 Zanzibar Land.

I just finished the game (70%), almost 200 hours. I'm still kind of stunned thinking about the ending.

quick question, when did i missed her in the game (
Screen-Shot-2015-06-19-at-00.30.52.png
), in which mission she appear? i think she was on the trailer right?

Visit the medical bay. The door that shows a blue instead of a red light.

Cut? Cut?! Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttt

Oh Cheers. Thank you! I was going mad trying to trigger it lol. Smoking cigars, leaving MB and coming back, etc... I'll just go do some more side ops then and the next episode and see what happens.

One more question: I'm at 3/4 for MB on all platforms. What's the best way to speed up getting resources? Just smoke a lot of cigars?

Yea I it's a bad way to do it when there is no evidence of unreliable narrator present throughout the game (Paz thing is a bit different from this so it cannot be directly compared). Remember how people shat on Heavy Rain for doing the same thing ? It's lying to the player by showing them a false happening of events (such as the reflection which is of BB when you play the intro, even before the surgery but when you play the repeat it's your avatar). Also making you go through the entire tutorial from tart to finish rather than a fast skip to the end was a bad idea. It even resets your camera settings and gives you the tutorial button prompts for the game you've been playing for several hours.

But I don't really care about the Medic having same skills as BB, it's never said that BB was unmatched in skills nor is it ever said that others under his training could never become as good (if you get the cutscene where Venom stabs himself he talks about giving his men "training they'll never forget" ...perhaps the best man i.e. the Medic received similar training from BB). Basically Big Bóss' legend and his skills are different things honestly.

The twist isn't about "some random medic" being Big Boss, it was about you. Phantom Pain goes from being a story about Big Boss to a story about you. That IMO is a great twist but it's a shame that nothing follows it up.

This is nonsense. "Meta" isn't a synonym for "good." It's a garbage story with a faux-meta narrative that has no impact whatsoever.

MGS2 is an example of a well-done meta story. MGSV is just bad. There is no redeeming quality to its story. It is lazy and hackneyed, reliant on hand waving, contradictions, cop-outs and retroactive continuity to tell a narrative that adds almost nothing to the overall mythology.

She's on the medical platform. Blue led over the door. There's a bunch of cutscenes with her... You trigger them by giving her photos after having captured wandering mother base soldiers. There's ten soldiers to capture I think. Once you've given her all ten, there's an 11th to unlock. So far I'm up to 8 soldiers captured. Waiting for the next two side ops to show up.

I'm sure Malak (one of the prisoners you extract in the earlier missions" refers to Mother Base as Outer Heaven too. It's a mess.

Look for a room on your medical bay platform.

I wouldn't put it past Kojima seeing as splitting Big Boss into two characters to explain his "deaths" isn't two far off from also explaining how two different military nations were created in such a short amount of time. Having said that, the timeline actually states "While commanding special forces unit FOXHOUND from a position in the U.S military, Big Boss (no mention of Phantom) establishes the fortified military nation "Outer Heaven" in South Africa. The Outer Heaven Uprising occurs, but is quashed by Solid Snake who kills Big Boss's phantom."

It only makes the distinction of one being his phantom when he's finally killed, not in terms of building MG1's Outer Heaven. Saying he did it while simultaneously leading FOXHOUND makes me believe it's referring to the real Big Boss, otherwise it's really poorly communicated... like there's no actual hint of Big Boss bulding his "true" Outer Heaven in Central Asia or referring to it as Zanzibar Land is there?

Holy Shit, how did i missed her LOL.

As soon as the doctor asked me to create an avatar I was like... Waaaaiiit a second. And then Ishmael is also voiced by Kiefer. And then vanishes completely just as Ocelot shows up.

Doot Doot Doot.

Oh yeah didn't notice either.

That Ocelot gif makes me even more annoyed because he did jackshit cool in V except shove Eli on his bony ass.

Didn't kill anyone, no gun twirling! nothing!

Well I suppose he did put a needle under fuckface Huey's leg I suppose... but he didn't even wound the sack of shit.

There was gun twirling.

I take the FOXHOUND stuff as being retconned without it having being stated. There is no way BB would go back to work for Zero and the US, and there is no way that Zero would have allowed it.

Actually ignore it, fuck the whole Foxhound part is the one annoying part left in the story, can;t retcon it without retconning the whole BB and SS relationship
