Man, I just realized that Parasite people makes Senator Armstrong look like a normal guy in comparison. I used to consider his abilities the height of bonkers MGS wise.

I don't know. I think all parasite conduits could do is dash around and shoot at his "harden" skin until Armstrong gets one good punch in.

I just realised I completely forgot I can just use MGR ost tracks as custom music for going HAM, maybe even put it on speaker to let the guards know pain is coming.

that's a silly nit pick. They are both 'Metal Gear Solid V'. ground zeroes is the new tanker chapter. That said, it's perfectly valid to prefer ground zeroes but your insane if your reasoning is 'i get to play as big boss and the story is better' lol the story is non existent. rescue chico and paz, get fucked over'. It's still part of the story from MGSV. the twist with the body double is STILL PRESENT at the end of ground zeroes, it's still part of the story so I guess Ground zeroes is a steaming pile of horrible shit too lol.

I didn't say anything about Big Boss, I didn't say the story was better, didn't say anything about the twist and didn't call TPP a steaming pile of anything. Who the hell are you replying to, because you're sure putting a hell of a lot of words in my mouth.

Just thinking about how Ocelot is one of the founding members of The Patriots makes no fucking sense whatsoever. If he was, why does he jump through the hoops that he does in MGS2 and MGS4? At least I can understand why he killed the DARPA Chief in MGS1, but his role in MGS2 makes no damn sense on a replay now. Let alone why he betrayed Solidus and did the exact same thing that Solidus wanted in MGS4 anyways. This series man...so inconsistent.

made a thing
That is awesome, I want more !

Thoughts : the whole Venom doesn't differenciate between red and white when he gets head trauma was foreshadowed in the first mission, after getting blown up by Volgin his color perception is all screwed up.

Also, in the first mission, if you kill Ishmael, you get "Time Paradox" instead of the standard "Mission Failed".

Oh and the French translation is butchered, but well (by "Paradoxe Temps" which means "Paradox Time" litteraly)

Just like "The enemy sniper" is "La sniper ennemie", even though every sniper in the game apart from Quiet (and the female Skulls) is a man, they just copy/pasted the subtitle from the Quiet battle.

Well I found the mod I had been looking for I will start to mod mines right now. I can finally play the game as it should have been played, there is room for only one Big Boss.

Guys, now that i'm finished where should I go if I want to check on the modding scene for this game on PC? I've seen screenshots floating around but doesn't seem like the methods are really out in the wild yet? I assume it's different from GZ.

In hindsight I think I would have preferred if they had went the traditional linear with some room for exploration at times route for the game instead of this open world thing. the Mother Base stuff definitely hurts replayability I think because of the timers and need to extract people in side ops to build up your base for upgrades.

I don't even want to go through any more side ops, just FOB stuff since I absolutely loathe the helicopter and how long it takes just to get around.

At least with the FOB copter you can wormhole out instead of waiting for the thing to take its sweet time getting in for a landing.

I didn't even mind it at first but it really gets annoying the longer you play imo.

But yeah. Skullface was a very bad villain, he was cliche and one dimensional. To the topic of vengeance I had to remember Charles and Ray from Eureka Seven, who executed the theme masterfully.

It's somewhat funny that you post this now when I was just watching the Eureka Seven OPs for nostalgia purposes.

Eureka seveN is so awesome
Why is the Skull Face line a meme ? What is that people finding funny here ? Is there an inside joke behind it ?
Come on, he's ridiculous and chewing the scenery there

Just put my CE on sale. I can't see myself ever resenting a game as much as post ending TPP so I don't see the pointing in owning its merchandise.

Plus it's a pretty crappy CE to begin with.

Hm, I kinda liked that.

I like it as well but for different reasons. There is no right or wrong way to go about it when it comes to this.

I only got it for the documentary. Such a shame that there wasn't a documentary to begin with, just interviews, trailers and that cut episode.

So it's basically another LIIQUUIIIIIIIIIIID

I don't know why but when David Hayter says it in his snake voice, it sounds epic. Heck, my favorite one is in 4 where you could really hear all the anger and fraustration in his voice. It's a great callback to the first game as well.

I guess the history of these characters puts alot of weight in context when they yell out each others names. Chills all over for me.

Another thing I hated was the trailers literally showed everything from the game.

And some things ended up being bullshit. Like showing Eli and a clone, as if it was a teaser of some bigger plot point, but it was just a throw away shot with 0 story necessity. It's a cool shot, but you don't end a trailer on something that is irrelevant to the plot of the game.

Wasn't that the scene showing that Eli had control of Baby Mantis?

You can say that about every character in MGSV.
Everyone besides Huey, yes. But no other characters has such a great silly moment that could be repeated. The characters are so dull that Miller is the only one who is constantly quoted ironically because he is annyoing. The game is not every quotable. Aside from WHOOOOOO?
He was fairly menacing in GZ. I geniunely hated him in the Paz and Chico tapes.
Yeah, but sadly it amounted to nothing. He was just a sadistic coward.

Skull Face's tapes in GZ made him seem incredibly sadistic, and then we just saw nothing throughout TPP. It was a bad case of telling instead of showing. You better believe we knew how much of a scene chewing asshole Volgin was.

When Huey outshines you for most despicable character in the game, you haven't been menacing enough Skully. Your unit was more intimidating than you.

So did Huey help XOF infiltrate MSF or not? He was obviously guilty of all the other stuff but he still seemed pretty honest about the inspection after all the torture he had to endure from Ocelot

Yes, I was hooked on him as a character when he hear the tapes of him and Paz. He was basically a comic book villain.

Paz: Will you really kill Zero for me?
Skull Face: Not for you

I loved this.

Edit: Btw. what does Ocelot say when you tranquilize him the 3rd time?

Those Chico tapes really painted him as a BAD DUDE in a world where VERY BAD THINGS HAPPEN. But then Phantom Pain had nothing 1/10th of that scale, which just reiterates how disappointing it was that Venom Snake was a generally charismatic nice guy without a hint of legitimate vengeance in him and the game's tone lined up accordingly.

Although how do we know it's the real Skullface? I'm not talking about body doubles, but the flawless way he hid his identity behind a mask. O _ O

The way i interpreted it was that he did.

Ocelot said the hardest man to break was a man who is lying to himself, we then see later that despite the Strangelove recording he still swears it is suicide.

He was pretty convincing, wasn't he? Haha. His VA was awesome. Huey is a total clown though, probably the main villain of the game.

This. From Ground Zeroes, you'd expect him to be a dreadful nemesis, but ended up as a ridiculous cliche villain. Like many other aspects of the game, so much potential wasted.

And for the ending, is one of the stupidest plot twists I have ever seen. Totally nonsense and disappointing. I could rant for hours but for what I am reading here, everything wrong have been posted already.

They kept all of Huey's transgressions heavily implied but never confirmed explicitly, which I appreciated.

Sins of the Father is truly referring to that asshole.

I was waiting for a boss fight and then saw him get crushed. I then thought ah he will be already. Beat this MG then kick his arse. But then he was actually crushed in half.

Only moment that made me feel cheated in the absolute perfect chapter 1 for me.

His son is a sharp contrast to him. Hal is very selfless in comparison to Huey, who only cares about himself. At the end of MGS he even offered his life to help Snake get off the base safely. After that, he made an organization with Snake to stop the proliferation of Metal Gears.
