Oh most definitely, no question about that. Horribly utilized though. I have no clue how that happened.

The entire section actually has great music.
OKB zero theme > sins of the father > sahelanthropus

That makes sense. He knew from the beginning but decided to play along because he saw an opportunity to build up DD and get revenge.

He didn't know from the beginning, only ocelot knew.
The lines at the end refer to him being done with BB's bullshit and he's off to find Eli and David, train them and have them take down BB.

There is a scene where Quiet gets the child's necklace, where it seems like Miller is thinking about Quiet's ability to heal her wounds, as if he is thinking about using the parasites to get his limbs back. You can read as much from the way he acts at the end of the cinematic.

I wonder if this is a dropped plot point that will come back eventually. Maybe he infected himself with the parasite in some way.

That's reading into it a bit much.

If anything he's thinking "She just risked her life to save a child's necklace, maybe I was too hard on her", or "Wait a second, why haven't we interrogated her yet", or "God dammit, I can't figure out how Code Talker wants his hamburgers".

If he knows beforehand, why does he feel personally betrayed by Big Boss? It'd make more sense if he found out afterwards, as he'd be pissed that BB went into hiding while he got his arm and foot hacked off.

if the post credits scene also takes place before Venom wakes up then what the fuck was this game for? Everything important already happened!

Why does skullface wear a mask in this game? Does he think he look neato?

really the only quotable moment we got out of this game?

Code Talker tells Venom to watch out for Miller, too. And his eyes look super weird in that one cutscene.

He always knew. He was in on the plan from the beginning

Ocelot, Zero and BB were the only ones in on the plan, it was zero's plan, ocelot helped him do it.
Miller was contacted by zero, but he was never told about what was going to happen, just that big boss was being kept safe for now.

The mask is actually worn by Skull Face as a trophy - it's made from a piece of the original MSF flag from the Mother Base that he blew up. He wears it to taunt Snake every time they meet.

I made this up and it didn't actually happen but it could have been real. #TeamReal

Nobody must know his secret identity!

Maybe he has a split personality disorder, considering his characterization darts between Good Ol' Kaz and Miserable Asshole Kaz.
Could be, but I like the parasite theories. Where he was a spy all along without knowing or that infused himself with parasites to get limbs back and dance with Venom in the rain.

Another thing that really bugs me is how the botched the truth reveal. When the scene comes where Miller asks what happens to Medic and the doctors say he has shrapnel in his head, everything is already clear.

WHY THE FUCK DO YOU MAKE ME PLAY THROUGH 45 MINUTES OF NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE AND TUTURIAL, JUST MAKE A GODDAMN CUTSCENE OF THE DIFFERNCES TO HIGHLIGHT THEM, WHAT THE FUCK??

Does this look like a non parasite infected man to you?

He never answers V when he asks what's wrong with his eyes.

I have finished it today and oh boy I really liked the plot twist at the end. Yes, a lot of people speculated before that Snake in MGS V TPP won't be the real Big Boss, but what really happened is I forgot that when I started playing the game. You are building the motherbase, gameplay that convince you that you are controlling the legendary super soldier Big Boss and the feeling that you are in charge made me convinced that I'm Big Boss. Kojima made me sad in Quiet's last mission and made me laugh at myself in the truth mission. . Too bad some missions and cut scenes were cut, but this is certainly my GOTY .

"You destroyed their anti-air radar? That wasn't one of the targets..."

The hospital sequence was a great intro, but I thought we were gonna get a proper Kyle Cooper designed, actual MGS2/3 style intro after you escape on the whaling ship. Kinda disappointed there.

And watching the MGS2 intro again and seeing Snake and Raiden fighting back to back against arsenal tengu makes me wish Big Boss played a bigger role. However subtle it might be. Even when you were playing as Raiden, you still had Pliskin/Snake there in the background. And at the end it's full on you teaming up with Snake and its awesome. Maybe having a Naked Snake/Venom Snake team up is too much to ask and really compromises his cover, but I wish Big Boss made some appearance in the present events and not just in flashbacks. Maybe some hints as to Big Boss doing his own espionage work to help VS with his missions so that it doesn't just seem like Big Boss doing his own thing while VS does his own thing. Maybe Ocelot going "we got this intel from a...'reliable source'." and he's really talking about Big Boss. Something that makes him at least an active element in current events.

But Miller was there on the day of the explosion and saw Medic get the shrapnel to the head and lose an arm, whereas BB merely went into coma with no significant scars. Millar was fully conscious on the hospital bed looking at the other two characters. And than 9 years later "Big Boss" shows up with scars very similar to the Medic's. Surely he must have suspected how Big Boss got a shrapnel to the head and lost an arm during his coma.

Yeah I said that too before, he says it's just bright. But someone posted a picture showing his eyes seemed fine earlier on. That being said, who knows if the eyes are always like that, if he was infected already when V saves him, etc.

But yeah Miller is set up as some sort of villain.

Because they ran out of budget so they could only copy paste the intro again

They kept sedating him, who knows how much he remembers from the Emergency surgery, when he woke up BB and V were already moved.

I would imagine Trauma like that would fuck with your memory and perception.

Well there's that and the mirror reveal. Those are the only differences that I can remember. Which sucks, because I sat through all the cutscenes again trying to see if there would be more differences.

They couldn't atleast cut out those scenes where you're just moving at snails pace for 15 minutes. That shit is so damn anticlimatic.

It's like "Oh wow, it wasn't the real Big Boss all along, and now watch as this random medic crawls through a hospital and the real Big Boss explain how to play the game you've been playing for the last 40 hours. Also please focus a lot on this Volgin on Fire guy, who's never really gonna be explained at all. Yay, the end."

Yo, if this Black Hound thing turns out to be real I hope Black Hound is a fucking awesome character.

WHAT IF BLACK HOUND IS QUIET'S XOF CODENAME

So uh, without having to go through 400ish pages, who wants to give me the cliffs on this 9/11 announcement Kojima ruse thing?

Confirmed to be a bust?

Yeah. This also really sucked. Totally took the hype out of the reveal when I realized I had to play it all again.

Black Hound sounds like Gray Fox to me!

Also notice that everyone else seem to notice that this Big Boss is not quite right Huey, the Boss AI, undead Volgin, the MSF soldiers (they recognize the box and the song, but not us). Only Kaz doesn't seem to notice anything.

Kaz could know since he was brought back to MB really.

He says he'll use V.

That Ingsoc thing is BS I think but 9/11 + we never got that promised GROUND ZEROes mission makes me hopeful ;_;

They explain Volgin, along with most of the other stuff in the game, very thoroughly in the Cassette tapes. It kinda boils down to "Psycho Mantis is god" but they do make an attempt to explain him.

so what are the real nanomachines of this game, parasites or Mantis?

Eeeeh, they explain him, but it's not really all that conclusive and his plot line just kinda ends without ever being fleshed out AT ALL.

I feel like Mantis is the real victim in this game, I mean, he went from having the coolest hair out of any character to looking like a freak by MGS1. Poor guy.
Adopting the personality of a criminal killer through mind reading is pretty brutal too I guess
