Why wouldn't Big Boss sneak a gun or armor into the hospital if he knew shit was going down and he was there to protect Venom? Tons of luck went into the hospital escape.

If anything went wrong, they would just hear a faint "i'm in hot" as take on me starts playing and a helicopter lights up the hospital. Perfect backup plan.

I have some for you guys...

I'm from Portugal, time zone here is the same as UK.

THE countdown on that site ends at 1.19Am from here.

So 11/9 =)

Take it with a grain of salt.

It's extremely interesting if this teaser does in fact have anything to do with MGSV or Kojima/Konami has there are a ton of people who are trying to avoid absolutely any and all spoilers about this game, including press people. This conjecture has been going on for a week now, and there's been a slow trickle of people trying to avoid spoilers coming into the thread after completing the game, but I'm sure there are a ton of people who are completely unaware of things rumbling around.

Code Talker's tapes about the parasites are some of the most boring, useless and unnecessary things in the entire franchise.

I'll gladly take bullshit nanomachines over these overexplained parasites that only ended up being used in one game.

A lot of the tapes, I listened to them right away. Code Talker's though, I basically had a backlog of those just sitting there because I got so bored. I thought it was just because of the way he spoke, but the content I realized I didn't care for.

It's not too soon however to say that IGN is trash.

It's a legitimately great game though.

I actually enjoyed his tapes because for one, the voice acting is excellent and two, he actually made it seem convincing despite how stupid it sounds.

Because he was an illusion and Kojima changed it mid-development to suit a dumb twist.

Why doesn't he have any facial hair? Why does he wear hospital scrubs instead of dressing like a soldier and covering his face? Why isn't an escape planned beyond "I guess I'll steal an ambulance".

It's like they've been caught with their pants down but they've been planning for the better part of 9 years.
What makes you believe this? Yeah some things don't make sense, but it's for the twist sake. I mean, the "twist" was hinted at in the very first trailer of the game back in 2013.

The entire parasite/Skull face arc is inconsequential. Feel like it was there just to give Fake Boss something to do. Something to be a hero of. But in the grand scheme of things is completely forgotten about and never mentioned in future timelines ever again. Which is fucking crazy because of how ridiculously powerful the parasites and metallic archea are.
I'm missing 2 blueprints the Macht and something else I know where the macht is but no clue what the other one is its not listed in any mission, Can anyone help me its listed under the KABARGA 83

Macht blueprint might be the one in War Economy. Gotta shoot down the chopper. It will be where the chopper crashes.

If you use the fast forward button in the tape player, it skips to the beginning of the next line of dialogue. You can read the subtitle and then skip to the next line. It makes the boring tapes a lot easier to handle.

Speaking of the chopper, I upgraded it while playing, never used it, but finally did on mission 45, and it still blew up nearly instantly. And my chopper was playing Anvil of Crom, so it should have been more awesomer.

IIRC the one under Kabarga is the only one I'm missing as well and it's a shotgun or something with the blueprint coming from 'dispose the dictator' dispatch mission or whatever. Literal dice roll blueprint.

And fuk all y'all the code talker tapes are good. I want more lore about experiments on The End and Cobra Unit backgrounds.

I just realized, in the E3 2014 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfoPfF2u1to

At around 3:53 where Snake is on his knees, the 'horn' he has seems to be similar to how it is at the end of the game, so that must have taken place after mission 46. Any idea why it would look like that? It's a shame it was cut from the game.

I believe that's from the cut Mission 51. He does the same "NOOOO!!!!" in the leaked cutscene, and it seems to have the same trees and surroundings.

Are people serious?

Do some of you actually think the parasite storyline is completely throwaway?

What?!

It's the precursor to the Nanomachines. Information pulled from this incident fueled the R&D for the nanomachines.

Huey took that shit and gave it to DARPA.

I swear, most of you don't even pay attention. No wonder you think the story sucks when it's actually damn brilliant.

Let's be clear, I see issues with the story, but it's not nearly as bad as most make it out to be... now I have proof as some of you apparently don't even understand a single thing going on in the narrative.

I honestly still don't know how to feel after V. I'm going to need some time to let this all sink in.

That small, inconsequential fact, doesn't redeem the shit

The whole game is a throwaway. Precursor of what? Kojima's ass? Hell, he pulled off the MGS4 Nanomachines being the answer to everything out of his ass in that game as well. The fact that there wasn't anything stated about parasites in the other games is enough proof.

Everything about this game is unnecessary. It doesn't even need to exist.

Parasites gave The Boss super CQCreflexes. The spooky ghost strain of the parasites gave The Sorrow the ability to die and come back as a ghost. WOLBACHIA MALE TO FEMALE.

Also The Fury's anger fused with Volgin's thirst for vengeance turning him into the Man on Fire

The only thing the events of the game explain is Miller's hatred of Big Boss.

It contributes nothing else to the timeline.

Now record it in Code Talker voice and send it to me pls.

Oh, we understand the parallels fine. It's still completely throwaway though. What does the parasite revelation add to our understanding of anything else in the entire series besides "nanomachines were based on bugs" and "the cobra unit used bugs"?

Opinions are fine, of course.

If people legitimately hate the story, fine. However, apparently some folks don't even understand half of the story and then still call it shit. At least know what you're hating.

Do you really think linking parasites and nano machines makes the story good?

Your sauce is weak.

Some people apparently have already made up their minds about the story to the point when even someone else comes along and explains everything clearly, filling in supposed plot holes and the like, those stubborn people simply say "Yeah, well... uh, it sucks!"
I see very little weight to the arguments against this story other than "twist was unnecessary," which I agree with. However, just because the twist was unnecessary doesn't mean the twist doesn't work, and doesn't mean the entire story was unnecessary.

Everyone knows parasites are supposed to be the precursors/origins of nanomachines.

But do we actually need to know about their freaking reproductive cycle over and over again?

What did the events of the game contribute to the canon?

The whole parasite powers is ridiculous. Most players hate facing against the Skulls with their powers such as: Teleporting, shield, shield regeneration, rock throwing, and super speed. All this because of parasites? Not even Nanomachines can make the enemy that powerful. The MGS4 Vamp nanomachine retcon does not even come close. The frogs were based entirely on the SOP Nanomachines and they were chumps. There is no reason not to use parasites in the other games. Reason why it's not in the other games? Kojima didn't think of it at the time. He pulled it out of his ass.

MGS3 bosses had little to no background on their powers because the fans bitched about MGS2's cutscenes on the boss backgrounds. He didn't need to shoehorn in parasites like it's the new Nanomachines son.

You're doing things just as poorly, if not more so than whom you're lambasting.

You're essentially saying that "yeah its okay to not like the story but you're fukkin dumb if you don't and you must be blind"

The Parasites are shit.

Make them a super-power giving organism that came from space or whatever, or a virus that kills people based on the language they speak.

Do you really think linking parasites and nano machines makes the story good?
I didn't say anything of the sort. The "brilliant" part of the story is the twist, whether people can admit it or not. Maybe I just love "meta" shit, but that works so damn well for me.

With regards to the parasites leading to nanomachines, I didn't say that was what made the story good, I was stating that the parasites at least had a purpose... my entire post was sparked because we had 2 or 3 people in the last 2 pages say they didn't get the parasite thing and/or said it had no consequence to later games. Explaining where the nanomachines came from is pretty linked to the rest of the series... Again, whether it was necessary is for debate, but it DID literally link to the rest of the series, which some claimed it did not.

Why is this a bad thing? Aren't most things in the series "pulled out of his ass" aka made up by him.

Not only that, they make for the shittest MGS bosses as well. I'll take MGS4's bosses over these and I hated those.

The difference is that this game is in the past. Things were already established. You are limited by what you already established. Pulling something out of thin air and making it vanish makes for a terrible story.

I liked the whole parasite thing, and the message about language, culture, "Englishization". But that whole super-power gig, yeah... Too much.

Not only that, they make for the shittest MGS bosses as well. I'll take MGS4's bosses over these and I hated those.

Quiet was my favourite sniper battle in the series, Eli was fun but not much of a fight, and Sahelanthropus was the best mecha fight in the series, in my opinion. But the Skulls, yeah, useless and annoying.

Bad taste confirmed then since MGS4 is not the best game but has amazing bosses.

MGSV bosses are whatever but I liked the Skull snipers at least.

How doesn't this apply to Peace Walker and MGS3 coming after 1/2 then?
