I don't get the excitement for this reveal to tell the truth. We all have some idea on who it is already, her name starts with K. I am more interested in the announcement of the next beta date. Hopefully with PC cross play implemented.

Even if we know who it is, we still have yet to see the character's changes in looks, moveset, or seen in the SFV engine. Come on son.

For those of us that plan on playing the game, gameplay is exciting.

If it's Karin, it's a character that hasn't been playable in 17 years, I want to see how she plays like in a brand new fighting system, how her EX moves will work, what new moves she would have specially her VSkill and Trigger, etc.

Then shouldn't you be more excited about the beta like me? Especially when you already know who is the character (99.9% sure).

I'd be a lot more excited if we at least got a date. That's pretty much the main reason I keep checking on the news & this thread.

They nerfed Bison in the recent build?
Apparently, Spooky said Psycho Inferno is negative on block now. What the hell is the move even for now? Trash, just like Psycho Blast.

the whole cast isn't even out yet...

man, you really hated that Psycho Inferno nerf haha
It upsets me because even though SFIV had a massive cast, I didn't like anyone. SFV Bison was perfection for my playstyle. Slow, patient, defensive, chip oriented. Now the chip is gone. :(

I am so goddamn picky about characters. I was relieved and excited to have someone.

With the amount of chip you can do in this game now, that move was too good. If Bison gets you in the corner you basically have to burn a bar of V-meter or eat a ridiculous amount of chip.

It's a combo ender.

The move was complete bull as a + move because you just put the opponent into perma-blockstun that left you in your scissor kick range after the strings completed. The only real option was Alpha-countering out of the pressure.

hopefully at the show tomorrow
I hope so
TGS is (was?) a big event, one where I'd expect lots of info about SFV aside from just showing off the new character. I believe V will release in February so TGS is the biggest event for V until PSX in December.
February would be great. Didn't 4 release in February as well?
I'm not expecting anything at TGS. I would guess they would do that on Unity whenever they're ready to announce something.
Hoping unity says something soon lol

Sim will probably suck like always. Can't make noobs upset that they can't mash buttons at midscreen.

You couldn't even chain them safely on block.

Also, having to burn a bar or V-Meter or EX a move to leave a bad corner situation is really fair.

Um, unless they changed it, you can't combo into Psycho Inferno outside of V-Trigger.

You clearly know jack about the situation. Perma blockstun? It wasn't even a true blockstring. It was a strong frame trap move. You could DP right through it. You couldn't chain more than one after Knee Press hit. Your opponent got pushed out. It was only deadly in corners, and that was what made the Bison meta so interesting.

Also, Knee Press is negative on block. A guaranteed blocked Knee Press puts Bison in an awkward situation in SFV. It wasn't guaranteed, either. The opponent could bait it with a neutral jump and punish for massive damage.

The move was fine. So many goddamn scrubs.
Twelve and Q GET HYPE
That would be great! "We'd like to introduce two classic Street Fighter characters. You knew they were coming, they need no introduction, please welcome back series veterans Twelve and Q!"

i never got the point of bashing people that care about story in fighting games, it can be done and if you're going to do it do it right like injustice

look if you only want MP then just ignore the SP story like people do in CoD but no need to rip into people that wouldn't mind a decent story mode for once

You can see them here! In the background of this new stage!

And the roster size iirc.
I think he meant specific characters that Ken Bogard knew about. But yeah, besides the characters themselves, he knew about the roster size, the number of newbies, & pretty much everything else about the game except Necalli & the veterans.

I think the main difference is that fighting games are at the core 1vs1 head-to-head competitive games, but that's not necessarily the case with shooters. I get the appeal as an addition, but I always thought it was silly as a main selling point of the game for those who wouldn't be interested otherwise. Especially for something like in MK and Injustice where so many people only play through story once and never return. It's nice, but ultimately superfluous in those cases.

What irks me is how an updated story mode is used as a defense for needing a brand new full priced games in fighters like most ArcSys games, when the actual meat of the game is only a slight upgrade.

I legit bought the last two Blazblues for the story tho. The actual game had passed me by a long time ago.

I also buy damn near every fighting game but still.

Wouldn't it have been much nicer if you could have just bought a story update instead of a brand new game you aren't playing?
