There was no way to know which spelling Capcom would be using, there is no "correct" one. Rachid, Rashid, Rasheed etc are all correct spellings. In Europe "Rachid" is a common way to write it (frenchified version inherited from colonial past), thats why he went for this one. There is no "error".

Right? And we still don't know what's the deal with North Africa (Rachid is clearly from the Gulf).

North Africa = Maghreb = Arab countries. Odds are he knew the character was Arab but didnt know exactly his origin.

Honestly I'd rather they just rework Dhalsim if they want to reuse those sort of concepts. SF5 hasn't been a game they just shoehorn characters into and making another Dhalsim-like character seems like a waste.

If reworked Dhalsim doesn't resemble Dhalsim, putting him in as a fundamentally new character will just make people mad.

Reworked Ken still feels like Ken because he's always been the more aggressive of the two characters and all the changes play into that.

He flies, strethes, tranforms, turns invisibe, has ground projectiles and air dives: what more could you want (other than winning). Give him invisibility for his v-skill and let him call in other twelves for his v-trigger: he can choose to use it as a shield, absorb it to heal himself, or have it copy him to increase damage and extend combos (f, b, neutral). Give him good priority + air dash combos and he's top tier.

Yea, in French, the letters 'ch' make the same sound as 'sh' does in English, so Rachid is totally fine transliteration.
