Nothing indicates Gief/Sim except a lack of imagination for what "Characters you'd expect to see in a SF Game" means coming out of Matt Dahlgren's mouth.
There are far more reasons to think Sim isn't in this game (playstyle doesn't fit, characters given anti-FB spam tools, we have a new Indian character coming) than there are to think he's in it.

depends on your definition of the word, Urien as a playable character was in late 97, around 18 years ago, seems pretty classic to me

I dunno, if he actually does have that information, that's useful: We'd then know what's up. It's not like having a wrong guess is a terrible, horrible thing. There's nothing on the line for any of us in here simply speculating. If we're wrong, so what. It's just goofing around while we wait.

No matter how you twist it Urien isn't a character you'll expect to see in a SF game. Call it misdirection, or just plain bullshit like Ono's "only a few have guessed the last Ultra character" comment. But don't try to spin Urien into a series staple, he's not.
I doubt it...why reveal him so early then? Not to mention that they didn't say it. If anything, it'd be Bison again as he's old.
I'm not saying it's Siliconera (I'd expect Urien as a boss, not a playable char on day 1)- just that Sim is absurdly unlikely.

If the bet is as he said, i.e., I win if sim and gief aren't in the launch roster, I will absolutely take the bet.
If he was revealed last everyone would've thought he was the last boss... I doubt he's the main boss but he might be like Akuma/Gouken and get a Shin form as a secret boss...
he might have a form where he has absorbed bison or some illuminati character to further transform

I'm betting on an unplayable boss character. Non of the last rumored characters sound like a good fit and we probably need some strong Illuminati associate for the story. I hope it's not Gill, though.

But anyway, I think they could easily give him an even more powered up unplayable version or something. There might not be a single "boss" in this game because of how story works, you just need a scary character to face in the arcade ladder.
Although unplayable Urien would work too, maybe mixed with Necalli or some shit

Seth had an evil masterplan, he was intelligent. Like a typical boss character. Actually every boss character in Street Fighter ever, if I remember correctly. Look at Necalli's win quotes, he's a mindless beast.
I could definitely see a powered-up form of Bison, Urien, Necalli, or Akuma (ugh) as the final boss. I don't think Capcom will go with a totally separate, non-playable character this time around. It just seems too wasteful (making a playable version of the character later available via DLC would rub people the wrong way) and unnecessary (Bison/Urien/Necalli all could be tied strongly to the story).
Yeah, if Mika throws a crouching opponent there's a different animation/properties for the same input. Like Tekken's side/back throws or Alex's back throws in SF3.

Yeah, Necalli still have a chance to be one of those bosses, along with Bison and Urien. I'm fine with any of those three for now.
For Vulva and NotSafeNetwork, they implied that they have insider information about Gief and Sim. I don't think we should make a huge deal out of it right now. Just wait until NYCC and see what would happens.

I cannot picture a big final showdown against Urien.
