Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

I'm a returning player and I just boosted a new Hunter to level 25. How do I kick off TTK quests? Someone said I needed to go to Phobos but it's not on the map.

*Edit*

Ah. There's a cinematic hidden on the map. I guess that's it

*Edit2*

Nope

*Edit3*

Phobos is open now. Phew

What did you need to do exactly?

Man the way the light levels work now is too addicting.

I am finding myself play with weapons I dislike just because they raise my light level.
I just stick the weapons/armour I don't like into the ones I do like and continue to use them. No reason to use a weapon you don't like unless you don't have one in that class to upgrade. It is addicting though. Now I actually care to look at the blues I get from engrams, because sometimes there will be a 295 piece of gear in it.

I got a blue armor with 299, I said what

keep it for boosting a good legendary item if you find one, I see a lot of streamers bin blues because they are so used to legendary or nothing.

I really like how blues can now be top tier outside of a perk or two, you can really make your character how you want now.

I'm using it now actually, the perks aren't so different from a legendary

Just got the Red Spectre Auto Rifle out of a Crucible match. Something seems... special about this gun, I still don't fully understand Infusions, either, but it has one of those options.

Infusion just means you can make, say, a gun with 250 attack more powerful by "infusing" it with a more powerful gun of the same class. So feeding your 250 gun a 280 gun will raise the 250 to just below the one you fed to it.

I just got back into Destiny with TTK and am still sort of a novice, so I have a question about subclasses: Is it feasible to switch back and forth between subclasses on the same character?

I'm a hunter and I love gunslinger for PvP because it fits my play style so well, but I'd like to also play as Nightstalker when I'm playing PvE with friends though. Are the downsides just that you have to hold onto two styles of gear, or is there something else that would prevent me from doing this?

Lucked out and got a Zhalo Supercell, love this gun. Fun seeing a horde of Thralls run at you and just fire endlessly as Double Kills give you ammo in the clip and super.

No downsides. In the long run you'll want to have everything maxed out for all of them anyway.

I've been grinding the game like crazy since it came out to try to prepare for the raid and I think I'm almost there. I've got 287 light and I just got my first 300 attack weapon: The Dealbreaker, which is a legendary exotic auto rifle. I know 290 is the recommended light. For those that have played it, will I be ok with that or should I try to top 290 before I go raiding?

Used about 30 3oC to boost me along with some new exotics. I feel a little dirty about it but I ended up getting sooo many duplicates. I had 4 claws of akamhara (?), two crest of alpha lupi, two gravitation forfeit (great helm; love shadowstep).

I got a bunch of year one weapons I already had too but also a few new ones. Hawk moon, Telesto, 4th Horseman, Suros, Monte Carlo. This game has me hooked again. Still can't stand PvP for very long though. It's just not very fun for me which is odd because normally I'm very PvP/ multiplayer focused.

Did Bungie make vanilla slightly harder, want to start again.

I don't think it actually changed, but since you level up much faster in the game, I found it to be much easier. Doing the all the missions with some strikes in between and completing bounties put me over the recommended levels. I think maybe ignoring the bounties will keep you closer to the recommended levels and keep the challenge?

Technically it's recommend but not required. I started kings fall raid as light level 286 with another 288 in the group. We manage the first few parts completely fine. No issues and there is a loot drop before the first boss. The gear I got during the first few parts of the raid bump me up to 291 light level.

Whomever was lead design on the new raid... Specifically
the platforming across Hive tomb ships
... Deserves a gold star.

It's actually pretty easy if you go into the side room and crouch there. You can pick off adds as they come by and Oryx just floats in the middle and shoots widely at you. Beat it solo that way.

You got lucky then. His accuracy is actually pretty great and more often than not he put the lightning store right in that room.

Did the Remnants of Darkness quest to get a legendary heavy weapon that's barely better than the one I already have

Got The Last Word in an engram last night... this means I have to do that stupid crucible quest now, I guess. Any tips on how to complete it? Just kill shit?
TLW has been beaten with a nerf bat. Use to be one of the best weapons but not anymore. Now you have to hip fire, the range and aim has been nerf while ads. You want perfect balance, don't hold the trigger, tap it. Only hold down the fan fire when you have to spray a lot of bullets in close range.

P.s check out the destiny thread in the community section as well. Moves a lot faster, seems like a lot of the regulars are hanging out over there..

Anyone else experience major sound issues in the Tower? I often only hear ambient noise, but not the sound of opening my inventory or dismantling gear.

I'm no good player just barely averaging 1.0 K/D but fuck this shit. Bungie's new matchmaking is worst thing to happen in the crucible. All the fucking damn time I'm paired up with people can't shoot for their damn life because the other team wipes the floor every single damn time. And why? Because of the daily legendary marks which is one of the worst decision bungie ever made. Forcing PvE only /new/noob players to play crucible dragging other players down. I'm struggling to complete my faction win 10 crucible matches quest.

Take example....todays daily is rift and I'm having a loooooong time finding players for control and clash because everybody is doing rift for the marks, I joined rift and guess what? I'm paired up with a bunch of feeders and the opposing team slam dunks and slaughters everybody.

I never have this problem before TTK finding matches for control and clash easily but now 1/12 searching for guardians for 10 to 15 fucking mins.

On which platform? I've never had to wait more than 20 seconds for any mode, PVP or PVE on PS4.

I haven't had so much trouble with time, but definitely with noob players. Unless I play rumble, which I win pretty much every time, I get paired with a team of 3/17 K/D players in the pursuit of "balance" which is usually 1-2 good players with 4 horrible players. How am I supposed to carry them?

Ps4 but South East Asia which is surprising dead after TTK. It's either nobody bought TTK or Bungie stupid matchmaking but I blame the latter.

Not just the tower. I had the pleasure of going through a completely audio-less PoE last night. Thankfully we were massively overleveled for everything in there so it wasn't a problem, but MAN I was getting blindsided left and right. Really hope they fix it quick

question i want to ask gaf. Can we get year 2 exotic weapons and armor from doing the vault of glass and crotas end or does it only give you year 1 stuff?
