The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Hearts of Stone |OT| Heroes of Gwent

Just ONE of those boars #rekt me so I probably won't stand a chance vs. 4-5 of them. I'm on Death March and I just loaded up the game for the first time since mid-August.

The expanded area in NE Velen where this takes place looks so nice/is so well made. My hype level for the next expansion with a completely new area is through the roof.

Touissant is gonna be so exciting to explore *Blood and Wine anticipation intensifies*

Hope for a Bruxa contract at some point.

I can't even describe how my skin crawls when they move ,and I wasn't exaggerating about the amount. I agro'd more of them and fell of a ledge, so I couldn't climb back up.

FFS the fight right after the first boss is hard as shit too. The combat in this game really isn't cut out for this level of difficulty.

Playing on Death march, I've found a lot of the difficulty in Hearts of Stone seems to stem from the fact that melee combat isn't a viable solution anymore because everything counters like crazy and instead you just spam signs and jump around while they recharge. Since switching to this style of play, I killed the first boss as well as the mini boss right after with ease. A successful Igni hit on the first bos took off 30% of his health and it obliterated all the mini-boss adds with ease. Once they were down, I just spammed Axii on the mini-boss and it was cake.

Deflection on armor also seems to trivialize a lot of the fights as well.

holy sh*** at wild boars

Boars? Boars b... bbb... bb... ... *sweating*

Xb1 version runs so bad in one of the side quest. Hit single digit framerates, then the game eventually crashed. I should've just went with the PC version instead of being obsessed with getting the achievements lol.

This sounds really bad.

playing on death march the difficulty is about the same IMO. The first boss wasn't that difficult once i took the poison immunity potion after that it's just dodge in get a hit dodge out before he does the jump. Rinse and repeat. second mini boss was harder imo. But yo these spiders are the most annoying enemies in the game. They keep range so good that it's insane to catch up to them as melee build. Gotta use axii to get any hit in. Or some northern wind grenades.

good lord I forgot how to combat in this game lmao

cant even kill some level 34 nekkers

maybe I should just go with the pre made geralt

To be fair with the game, nekkers are the hardest "little monsters" type in this game. Way harder than your average drowner or wolf. And level 34 is not a joke.

The first boss is beatable but not with any strategy that's not tedious as hell. Just terrible design.

yeah i died once against him until i remembered about the poison immunity potion. It took me good 15 min to beat the thing, the fight dragged on for sure. Also if you mistime one dodge wrong you will eat that jump move he does. You will not lose a lot of life but it gets you stunned. Which allows him to follow up with a tongue swipe that takes some good life away.

Maybe it was because I was level 34 with mastercrafted Feline gear and the best runes in all of my gear but I really didn't find the first boss that difficult. I beat it my first try, then again I've played quite a bit of the Witcher lately. I just realized that I had to keep my Quen up against him, made good use of my bombs and attacked him in melee as much as I could before I got knocked back.

Builds make a huge difference in this game because dodging barely works and Geralt is slow as shit. The utility that signs provide is enough to trivialize end-game though; more broken melee/crit and alchemy builds are possible too.

Apart from that absurd first boss fight this DLC seems fantastic as expected. The character interactions are top notch in surprising ways. The Shani relationship rewards Witcher 1 players but not to the extent where you can't infer what the history there is. And they play with her relationship in fun ways that are a lot different from the sorceresses in the main game.

All the characters seem really entertaining so far, and I like the way they made Oxenfurt more relevant. Overall I like it after getting past that damn boss. Almost soured the whole thing for me. I think part of that comes from my Geralt being speced to be melee heavy, which this DLC punishes a little bit because you can't just plow through the higher level enemies and absorb a bunch of hits with Quen.

Enchanting seems like a pointless gold sink.

Maybe those advanced tools would make it better but getting 2x vitality from food or keeping grindstone bonuses isnt very exciting

I thought the same, it's an endgame goldsink, from the very start when you need 5K gold to just be allowed to spend even more effort and resources to runecraft.

Still I needed one, I had too much gold on me.

Was going to load my save after downloading this but it's telling me I'm missing the Beard and Hairstyle and Missing Miners dlc necessary to load the save.
WTF?
Went to check the dlc (GoG) and the free dlc program box wasn't ticked for some reason. Now it's downloading another 611mb... I had all the dlc installed.
Was there a patch that made it necessary to re-download the free dlc?

Do we have a list of the enchants somewhere? My Witcher is...well...rich. Blowing 30 or 40k wouldn't leave me without money for hookers, is what I mean.

I had to do the same, apparently they put all the dlc in one package. that's a good thing but you need to redownload it.

The season pass is 24,99€ and says it's for 2 of the paid DLCs. The DLC is 9,99€ and if the next DLC won't be over 15€ why should i get the seasonpass?

Been playing with a Feline build. I'm not getting the damage I want in comparison to how much I'm taking and whirl seems to get more useless by the minute, so I'm respeccing in Ursine.

The story is pretty great so far.

I liked fighting the spiders and boars, but the nekkers were really buffed. Enjoying the increased encounter difficulty. Death March.

First boss felt like it could have been designed a bit better, but I feel there's some nuance I never cared to learn because I could power through it. Heavy attack seemed to be more effective in terms of range and timing, but I was a light attack build at the time. CDPR feel like they're on their way to making decent action game mechanics. That could make them unstoppable if they keep getting better.

Edit: Just saw the Gametrailers review. Yrden is more powerful than I could ever imagine.

So if I really liked Witcher 3 and played the shit out of it, also collecting all trophies except the Death March one, but I want to avoid buying DLC after the disaster that the Destiny Expansion Pass was.
What should I do? :(

What are you talking about? What does Destiny have to do with The Witcher or CD Projekt?

Not all DLC is created equal. DLC is not inherently a bad thing, in fact it's often good.

Got the first boss on my first try but I'm level 34 and have mastercrafted wolven gear.
Even though it's mentioned that the monster isn't afraid of fire, Dancing Star proved to be very effect, the monster actually remains paralized while the fire damage is in effect, leaving it wide open to attacks.

Loaded my old saved game ready for this expansion and the full crew trophy popped even though I missed Vernon Roche on my play through. Is this a known glitch? Saves me some time I guess!
