A video flickers into action. David Cage appears on screen and begins by apologising for not being there in person. In the video he talks about his new project, but just before he reveals it, the video freezes. There's a moment of pause and David Cage walks on with a controller in hand. As he continues from where the video left off, he rotates the computer generated David Cage on the screen ...

'Ladies and gentlemen, here is Kara.'

I'll be happy just to have the option, i don't rally care about whether i can use my old disks or not. If they disallow people who have already bought PS Classics on PSN from getting the games they already bought for free on the other hand, that's just being an asshole.

This.

Not recognizing old PS2 DVDs is one thing, but I already bought all those PS1 (and some PS2) classics on PSN, and would just like to install and play those in the PS4 as well.

The new game from Quantic Dream will be interesting just to see what direction they take. The reception they get tends to be very positive when they take a more grounded route. People love the first half of Indigo Prophecy, but hated it when it went into a Matrix-like direction. Then people really liked Heavy Rain, which is also fairly grounded. But Beyond is very over the top and wasn't nearly as well received.

The same is kinda true for their tech demos. The Casting was grounded and received positively. KARA isn't really grounded in terms of the idea of creating a cyborg that acts human, but the way it was handled in that demo wasn't over the top. And Dark Sorcerer, which started out be anything but grounded, turned out to be about a low budget fantasy movie being filmed.

Quantic Dream's new game ALONE should be enough to hype the PS faithful. That's a big AAA title that's going to get announced - cause it has to. Everything else is gravy and boy does the gravy look good.

QDs new game is all I'm expecting from PGW and I bet it'll be a PSVR game.

I definitely think an Uncharted 4 MP reveal is likely, but I think campaign demoes are over for the marketing plan of that game.

Id like to see more Horizon live gameplay but I think we'll just get a trailer.

Quantic game and Dreams will have decent reveals.

Price drop for EU.

ONE big surprise.

Hec of a conference right there. I don't think we'll see as much VR as you're expecting here, nor a PS+ title announcement, other than that... decent prediction.

With their account system, they should have a real track of things across platforms. They should really want to unfiy their platforms even more with cross buy, crossplay stuff, so being able to buy a PS1 title and play it across PSVITA PSTV, PS3, and PS4 would be amazing

There's not a huge amount at PGW that I'm really hyped for - mainly refreshers on stuff we already know about, like Shadow of the Beast, Rime and Alienation. PSX will probably hold the juicy surprises that I'm really interested in.

People are ignoring the giant bleeding refrigerator in the room.

The only way to make PGW as big as E3 or PSX would be to announce Kojima and del Toro are making a horror game for PS4.

I would go with Screaming Valley, but the name isn't what's important.

I'm just hoping they make 2016 more concrete. We know it's stacked, but we don't know how exactly all of those games are going to be pieced together. Especially that Spring period where everything seems to be launching.

I'd be surprised if we have a Horizon demo. They just showed a lengthy gameplay at E3. PSX and E3 2016 for two more trailer/gameplay seems more reasonable. I think Sony will unveil one AAA game (maximum 2 but that is unlikely). While the main focus I think will be on the tons of the smaller games Sony unveiled in the previous year since it has been a long time since we heard anything about them..

I don't think Quantic Dream games have that much universal appeal. Should be interesting, but I hope there's something else.

All I want to see is:

Rime release date.
No Man's Sky release date.
Aliennation footage.
Shadow of the Beast release date.
New Ratchet & Clank trailer.
WipEout HD/Fury remaster announcement.
PS1/PS2 Classics coming to PS4.

I can get behind these suggestions, as long as there are a few new announcements as well :)

I think Wipeout would make a great a great VR title, Wipeout VR just sounds right. I have been wrong plenty of times before, but I can see No Mans Sky launching with VR (as well as non VR version)

Any chance we might get any sell-through numbers on PGW?, we can safely assumed it reached 25m as of July (25m shipped in end of June), so we have a good 3 months worth of unknown sold units for the PS4.

My bet is they announce they have sold more than 30m on PGW.
(Mind you no one believed me when I said PS4 had sold 10m before Gamescom 2014 and they announced it)

Hmmm. Maybe. But don't you think they'll announce something like that at PSX since it'll be after the holidays

Surprised at the lack of hype for the conference. The TGS thread seemed to be running for weeks before the event.

Anyway Puppeteer was announced at GamesCom, Puppeteer Remaster Encore Edition would be great if it's announced.

A lot of people are asking why do this conference when PSX will be 5 or 6 weeks later. I believe Paris will focus on European developer's and PSX will be considered a Victory lap for the year and bring into focus all the content due next year.

PSX is before Christmas though. I see an update at PGS and another update somewhere around January to add in all the massive holiday sells.

Wasn't there an update January of this year?

I actually don't see an Uncharted MP reveal being likely for the event I don't think there is actually any precedent for it. What I think is actually more likely is they will have an MP event beforehand and it will be revealed before the event and just end up being playable there.

I actually think a gran turismo announcement is very likely as well as the announcement of the next quantic dream project.

Do you guys really think that PSX is going to be bigger than Paris Games Week? I've seen a lot of people suggest major announcements be held off until PSX, and while I do think God of War 4 will be there, I'd expect PGW to have the bulk of any planned reveals.

PSX seemed like a 'nice extra' for fans last year, whereas PGW is essentially Gamescom being done a few months late.

I feel like an MP event would be announced by now if they were planning on for PGW. Good idea for PSX though.

Granturismo would be fantastic, quantic is quite likely. Shu chuckles too hard when asked about it.

I see PSX as a smaller event with the potential for one or two bigger announcements. The focus is clearly on games that are coming soon next year and small titles that will be launching the following year.

I'm not disputing that at all; the Uncharted 4 demo was a big deal, too. Other than that, though, there's no real precedent for gigantic reveals - unless I'm forgetting something.

There was also the announcement of a localization for Yakuza 5. That was huge as it was undeniable proof that the Third Party Production teams absolutely is listening to fans. So I think it was more than a nice extra when you look at everything together.

Since this is a European show, and Guerilla is European, do you think we'll get more Horizon footage?

I'm kind of thinking how Sony is going to split up PGW and PSX.

I do expect new footage of FF7 remake at PSX, thats for sure.

I'd put PSX on the same level as gamescom honestly,

this is the stuff I remember from last year:

Uncharted 4 - first gameplay demo
Ultra Street Fighter IV announced
Street Fighter V announced
grim fandango remastered
New Fat Princess game reveal
Order 1886 gameplay
Until Dawn gameplay
new katamari creator game reveal
kill strain announcement
drawn to death announcement/reveal

I'm kind of thinking how Sony is going to split up PGW and PSX.

It's possible, but the producer of Horizon has noted that he likes there to be mystery with games. He mentioned how he was disappointed that Bethesda showed the nuke go off in their E3 demo for FO4. So I don't think that we'll see a lot of pre-release footage.

I do expect new footage of FF7 remake at PSX, thats for sure.

It'll be there or at Jump Festa which starts on December 19th.

Wouldn't really have that much precedent considering it's the second event.

I feel like we'll get announcements catered to the Playstation audience so for example if there were to be a sequel to Dark Cloud in development that would be the perfect place. Most won't care but the fans will go nuts.

Maybe bends project because everyone has been wondering what has been up with them if you've been in the loop.
Those things seem the most relevant to that audience.

With Uncharted I feel the PSX reveal would be to late they want to show the game a good amount before the beta to entice people to pick up the collection. I was thinking it might be there VR showcase most of the teams work on it from Europe. Showcase it price it there as well (Shu said to look at what they did with gamescom events in the past) and show a lineup including Gran Turismo, No Man's Sky, and other games (maybe even quantic dreams game)

That would be a really big push I think.

Sony knows the audience at psx doesn't want to see a focus on VR there.
