Star Wars: The Force Awakens Final Trailer

The aerial combat is fantastic. Despite being CG, it is really reminiscent of the original trilogy's space battles. There's just this kineticism to it all. While the CG of the prequels was very advances, the battles themselves felt dull to me. Just from the few clips from this trailer, the camera zips around like you are in the battle too.

I made a thread a while back, discussing my love for the space battle of Return of the Jedi: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=152139476#post152139476

This was from that movie 32 years ago:
Hell yeah!

Just going from the trailer, it feels like the Force Awakens has matched it.

So much rich color. But it doesn't like like, fake. Can't wait to see how this movie looks. Definitely not just aping the OG trilogy in terms of looks, it looks like as far as the artistic design it's bringing new stuff to the table.
They are using practical effects and location shooting for everything possible. Not green screen shit.

Oh piss off, you leave.

After all, this won't be real Star wars for you as soon as a throw-away line you don't like is uttered or a coreohraphy looks fake if you put in slow motion and run a frame by frame analisys.

I'm trying to have fun here. Star wars fans will discuss the prequels, the originals, the trailer, the EU, the clone wars, and rebels. deal with it

Yep agreed..

Honestly guys if you don't want any part of this movie spoiled. Just leave the thread. Others literally have no consideration.

How can people still not grasp the concept of a cross-guard on a sword...?

i love it. between that crossguard and the weight behind adam driver's movements i hope we get some sword duels that are more like aragorn vs. orcs rather than fucking jedi-flip-kwon-do from the prequels.

oh of course. To be real, if you weren't on one of the handful of planets that saw conflict between rebels and imperials, much less the actual presence of a Jedi *in action*, it'd sound like bullshit. Period.

Only those from The Old Republic would have been used to the presence of the Jedi and other masters of The Force.
Even a lot of people in the Old Republic probably didn't believe in the Jedi considering how few there were and how big the galaxy was

But during the clone wars Jedi were known to literally everyone. Barely even one generation and they've become unicorns? I get it for ancient civilizations but these are star faring civilizations who record history and share information
George Lucas fuckery, I guess. That's not really on this movie. Empire probably repressed all information on the Jedi, but yeah, it's a little thin. If we go by the OT, then by the time ANH begins, most people have never heard of/don't believe in the Force or the Jedi. So following that it makes sense that the skepticism pervades thirty years later, assuming there's been no resurgence of Jedi or whatever.

More like 50. No one was left alive who saw Luke and Vader fight and pretty much any stormtrooper who saw Vader and Ben fight were blown up on the first Death Star. It looks like Leia never trained in the force. That leaves the Clone Wars.

Now what if your grandparents told you stories about beings who had superpowers and helped save the galaxy back in 1935. Only there were just a few dozen of them so seeing them in action was super rare.

Would you believe them? Would you see how over time it could be dismissed as just legend and myth?

These aren't the middle ages. These are advanced cultures. Do they not record history. It's insulting to think they're that dumb

Edit: feel like I'm thread shitting. Loved the trailer and super hyped. That's all that matters

Que? Where may one get these spoilers.

They've been out there for months now. Who knows if they're true, but they've lined up with everything we've seen pretty well. I can't give you a direct link, but I'm sure if you google it you'll find it.

lol no kidding. I should probably just leave this thread.

Yep. It's amazing how "perceptive" people are with this movie. The tiniest thing in every piece of promotional material results in people here fucking nailing their predictions. It's impressive!

Return of the Jedi's final space battle is mindblowingly good, especially the Falcon barreling through the Death Star tunnel. There's a reason I always choose Lando as my Falcon pilot in X-Wing, and it's that scene.

So who are we thinking is doing the narration about the Force towards the end? Leia? Or some other female Force user/ghost?

Speculation is not spoilers.

To be honest, if you don't want spoilers, cancel your ISP for the next 2 months. Because everything is goign to speculation and spoilers until release day.

I guarantee nothing I come across on any major news site will have headlines like I just read in this thread from people who clearly know what happens.

@ 0:52

Is that a probot outside of the bridge? I thought it was a space shot but that looks just like a probot.

It really bothers me how stupid it is having. Hopefully we will have some explanation for it.

THe hilt is growing on me, but I can't explain how much more pumped i'd be just to see a fucking SW villian with a normal fucking lightsaber for once. All they needed was the 'imperfect' beam he has going and that would have been badass enough. The hilt just looks silly, especially how it just happens to be perfectly parallel to the camera in every shot seen to far so it's easy to see it's shape.

Yeah, even though the dialogue was wonderful I'm caught up on that... it's supposed to have only been like 30 years right?

That is an assumption that the Galaxy was saved. What if its more instead of a small rebellion it enflamed into a massive civil war type scenario and there are no good guys per say depending on who you talk to

Actualy i dont beleive he is Kylo but maybe join the Dark Side and is with him. Its not Kylo we see say " i will finish what you start" , its another dude with another mask... Which might be ...Luke?

Andy Serkis is lurking in the shadows.

The Empire literally could have changed history. Literally in ANH Luke didn't know what The Force was.

That one commander that Vader choked out. Literally called it "A sad devotion to that ancient religion."

A lot of these civilizations were kind of in shambles after the events of the rebellion, and didn't seem that advanced before that happened. I don't think anyone on Tatooine was meticulously recording what was going on in the galaxy around them.

A crazy motherfucker destroyed EVERYTHING they had recorded in the temple.

The few surviving stuff was stolen by Jedi artifact collectors who didn't even know how the stuff worked.

Lol @ all the fucking clowns in this thread playing speculation detective based on dark objects on the corners of some shots.

Good trailer. Had to watch it a couple of times to figure out what was going on but I'm more excited than ever!

I don't understand how everyone is ignorant or forgot that they saved the galaxy. It's all stories and myth now, even the jedi? Not buying it

1) In the outter rim worlds, even at the time of the original trilogy, jedi were "myth". The common people don't know a Sith is the emperor, they never did. Order 66 happened 50 years ago?

2) This is 30 years after the original trilogy where Jedi were already a myth.

Jesus christ calm down. I know some of you got real hyped by this but let's not get crazy and say ridiculous things over a trailer/

To be honest only a few episodes give it any real competition. It looks great and the acting looks way better than it ever has. This is not silly speculation.
