The Frame Rate of Fallout 4 in Interiors is horrible [PS4]

Either PS4 can be fixed up with patches or Bethesda has made a hell of a bad call when deciding where the focus of their next gen engine needs to be!

lol this thread is ridiculous. videos look fine to me. find something else to "worry" about, GAF - maybe curing cancer?

I wish I had standards that low.

All hell will break loose if XB1 outperforms PS4. Got my popcorn ready. Is the actual gameplay and story any good? That's what matters most to me.
I wouldn't be surprised at all. I suspect the ps4 version it's a straight port of the xbone (as always from them) and considered the different RAM setting, it's something could happen if not optimized properly.

So the videos posted are from relatively early in the game and I experienced the same exact slowdown in this area. There is another "indoor" area not that much further in the story that suffers from the same, if not worse, frame drops. What the videos aren't showing is how badly this affects combat. Aiming is out of the question entirely. You must use VATS or retreat to a place where the frame rate levels out.

Still glad I bought the game and happy to have it early (I live in Germany), but I must say that I am a bit disappointed with the overall performance compared to the visuals. Sometimes it looks like an upscaled/remastered PS3 game, and other times it looks stunning.

I will just say this, the opening scene is jaw-droppingly bad. It surely must be an art direction decision because I just could not believe how awful it looked. I will be interested to hear feedback from other's on Tuesday.

The guys at Digital Foundry should just stop what they're working on and focus all of their effort on this game. Just think of all the hits they'll get lol.

Are people just going to ignore other people saying the Xbone ver is just as bad?

Because they're most likely trolling. No evidence has shown that the XB1 version struggles.

So in a game where the only thing that can cast a shadow is the sun, interiors are a problem?

You can forgive Fallout 4 for having sub-standard graphics. You cannot forgive Fallout 4 for having shit performance while displaying sub-standard graphics. This is them being lazy and assuming you'll just gobble it up regardless. And if you do, they were right and have every reason to keep being lazy.

In my opinion, this is yet another example of Microsoft paying off the publishers to provide inferior experiences on PlayStation consoles. The Xbox has sold poorly, and it quickly becoming irrelevant, so Microsoft are resorting to cheap tactics such as having PlayStation versions deliberately gimped in order to stay relevant in the eyes of consumers. Assassin's Creed Unity, The Witcher 3, and Resident Evil Revelations 2 are examples of this awful practice. I'm sure when you play this game on the Xbox One All In One Entertainment System, this game will be 1080p at a locked 30FPS, with mods available from the get go.

I've got BINGO! What did I win?

Him typing out "Xbox One All In One Entertainment System" makes me think that it's bait but I can't tell anymore, people say some truly stupid shit these days.

I'm glad that I went physical on PC. If I see that it's a technical shit show on PC I won't even bother opening it and wait a few months to rebuy when there are patches and mods.
