980 ti...bought on PS4. I don't give a shit about waiting for mods, and this dated ass engine isn't getting miles better with whatever I can bump it up to.
You never touched a graphic mod I suppose. I played Skyrim and it's almost another game with the graphic mods.

How come you guys care so much what version of the game people are going to spend their hard-earned money on?

It's not like these people are saying something factually wrong like "I'm getting it on PS4 because it outperforms the PC version." Every single person has acknowledged that it's worse than PC (of course) but they want it on PS4 for other reasons obviously.

Sheesh, people with a PC preference who act like this are obnoxious as all get out.

Well, you could run it at 60 FPS locked rather than 30 with drops.

And actually have shadows further than 10 meters from the camera.

But hey, it's your choice.

I have. I just don't have the time to wait for mods to come out that would make the game not look like shit nowadays. Especially with a new kid, I have to be upstairs more often. So down in the office isn't an option for something like this late at night...the only time I get to play.

What on earth.

Can I use that 980 then in the mean time pretty please I'll take good care of it :)

Not only graphic modes actually. PC version will receive full mod support, while I doubt XB1 and PS4 will be able to access half of them...

Bethesda games are great on PC. In my opinion, in normal circunstances and with a great machine, getting Fallout and Elder Scrolls on PC will always be the best option.

Hey man, whatever floats your boat, but in this case I am really struggling to imagine why you would do such a thing. It's a single player game so there's no "my friends play on console" factor, you can connect the PC to the TV, play with a gamepad and get a vastly (seriously, vastly) superior experience. Is it a matter of brand loyalty or something?

Sorry, its fixed now!
In the end of the video!

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that those drops are just bugs/glitches/bad coding. The same with the drops on PS4 in interiors. Interiors are rendering much less than outsides so the game should actually be pretty solid in those cases.

I don't doubt it at all. I just wouldn't stick with it anywhere near long enough to take advantage of the mods.

No, not at all. I have XB1 as well. It was just that I got it for dirt cheap ot BB with GCU and rewards points I needed to use up. Came to 28 bucks after all was said and done.

I don't have a gaming pc but I have both current gen consoles. Decision is easy.

I got out of PC gaming 8 years ago. However, I'll probably build another pc near Christmas.

Eeeh. I need to buy a good PC first or later. But I'm scared about my obsession for the configurable options of the graphic setting.

DF analysis using a similar configuration has shown an advantage to the PC version.
Your configuration is VERY similar to mine by the way. But I don't know exactly how well it will run on our machines.

Thanks, I think I'm leaning this way.

PC it is. Any thoughts on how it will run on a 280x, i7-4770 and 8 GB of ram? I was hoping I could eek out some ultra settings.

Yeah, I just saw this last post of yours. Well, you're getting what's more confortable in ypour circunstamces, nothing wrong with that.

In Bethesda games it feels like when we were a child playing with Lego! It's just fun to mess with it anyway! =D

If people feel the need to let us know, we can comment on it. Just surprising to me that people who spend hundreds of dollars on a GPU would run it at sub 30fps instead of 60+/1080p+. But to each their own.

I don't tend to care when people choose an inferior experience while having the option of the better one. Unless they use bs reasoning, then you just gotta call them out.

Trust me, man, normally I'd be making the screw face at a comment like mine. But like I said, with the new kid, this makes more sense for me atm. Don't worry, the 980 ti will get plenty of use over the years on some good games.

So can anyone confirm if the texture streaming issue seen here on the pc version a constant problem or a one time oddity as seen in this pic. I know this isn't an Arkham Knight or Blops 3 PC fuck up butconfirmation would be nice.

Anyone pc guys think they can help me out. I'm really new to pc so I don't really fully understand the specs and stuff. I have an i5 4770k over clocked to 4.2, a gtx 970 not over clocked. Any guys can give me some info on what I'd be able to run at with what fps roughly.

Have you considered making use of the Steam Streaming function, maybe through a Steam Link?

1080p Ultra, 60 fps.

The DF review pegs a 970 getting 1080p all settings max at 60fps, with a momentary blip down to 55fps in one scene as stated in the video.

The i5 @ that clock rate will most likely not bottle neck the 970 IMO from what we have seen so far with NV drivers.

I wouldn't sacrifice it in this case, but the ONLY reason that comes to mind is heat (and that doesn't hold water in winter). During this past summer, the temperature was so high in Europe that my AC unit just couldn't keep up. Running my PC increased room temperature by some degrees. Playing on consoles would keep the room cooler so I tended to do more of that this past summer. The PC stayed cool, of course, but it was blowing out tons of heat.

Aside from that, I'm really not sure what the reasoning could be.

Such is the cost of the fucking 1080p. I wish they had implemented support for lower resolutions in console for those like me who prefer smooth and better visual experiences rather than 1080p (or that just don't have a Full HD display)

For a Bethesda game (and there's really no comparison with how big and interactive they are), this doesn't look last gen at all. I don't know why people keep saying that. Guess they forget what Vanilla Skyrim looked like (especially on consoles).

So what do you guys think is the equivalent pc setting quality is on the console versions? is it medium quality or more towards high? looking at the comparison pics, I don't really think its in ultra lol.

It's not the resolution that is at fault here.

Definitely seems lika a bug to me aswell! It's just too strange!
We need to hope Bethesda is going to look into it though...

Wtf is this bs?[/QUOTE]

That's what I'm asking. Does the PC version stream textures slower? Is this a one area type of thing.

There are also reports of the game crashing after using computer hacking on the pc version from the pc performance thread.

1080p Ultra, 60 fps.

Quick question, the boxed PC version is a disc or a code? I have a PC capable of playing this at ultra and 60 fps I believe, but I want to use my GCU at Best Buy to get it for 48 dollars instead of 60. I don't have a disc drive installed on my computer.

EDIT: NVM, just saw it's a combination of both, may end up just getting it for PS4 then.

I have a 7870 Extreme with an i5...I have this pre-ordered on PS4 because my wife is the PC gamer (usually) but I'm so tempted to get this for PC. With my specs mentioned, plus 16GB of RAM, could I get 60 frames at PS4 comparable settings?

Just buy it on GMG for $48 or whatever it's going for now. Don't suffer the console version for no reason.

GMG use code SAVE20-NOVEMB-GAMING

Pretty sure you could easily surpass PS4 settings without dropping below 60.

Better to ask in the pc performance thread. Beware, as per that thread people are reporting the pc version has game crashing bugs. It seems to happen after computer hacking.

There have not been metrics made with console settings on a 7870 as of yet that I have seen. AMD will have a lot harder time staying at 60 even if the GPU has the grunt to do it due to its driver.

Gamer's nexus shows this well enough: http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/2177-fallout-4-pc-video-card-fps-benchmark-all-resolutions Scroll down to the benchmarks @ medium.

A flat 30 should be more than doable though.
