Pylons only extend the range of the generator (it carries the generators charge). You can bypass this with conduits, but wire/copper is consumed with each piggyback, so this should be take into account also.So if you have a main switch you don't need a pylon?
Does anyone know if there's a perk that actually helps with shotgun damage? Does it count as a rifle for Rifleman, or something?

Basically using pylons is more economical, but again some people hate the aesthetic - especially when building big.
EDIT: just make sure to place your generator as close to your structure as possible if your not using pylons.
currently the only way is to hover over the settler and see what resources in your settlement get highlighted as well. Yes it's a terrible mechanic when they aren't near their resource.
Is there a way to turn player voice acting off? It's really pulling me out of the game. The VA is generally just awful.
It's silly -- unless it's something that the gun can just have "none" of (like the muzzle), you have to build something to replace it with before you can put the mod into a different gun. So if you find a gun with an awesome receiver but not much else, you have to build a basic receiver, replace the good one with the basic one, and then insert the better mod into your gun of choice. The game REALLY needs an option to just dismantle a gun into its mods when you scrap it.
Legendary weapon affix. It effectively doubles your damage. It doesn't actually shoot another projectile. Is the 'shoots additional projectile' a mod, or a legendary weapon thing?
That happened to me as well. I don't remember if I had a gun out at the time or not. Also thought I junked it but it's a Misc Item I believe so I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that happen.
What is the requirement for the touchdown trophy? I got blown up by a raider in power armor and it popped the trophy afterwards.

My armor hoarding is getting out of control. I need to find me a new shed.
Good to know. I'm just starting out and was worried stealth would be useless. On Survival mode and I'm getting wrecked a lot, even when I'm in power armor. Some flying insect comes around and basically one-shots me. Then a legendary dog chases me down and I'm dead. Haven't been able to develop or find any suppressors so one shot and I've got all nearby enemies on alert. Will keep going for that stealth build then if it gets awesome eventually. So sneak 4 and high Agi break the ai. I can sneak in power armor during broad daylight to within a few feet of the target. As they face me.

So I just need a straight up answer: Do I drop Codsworth for Piper or stick with Codsworth. Codsworth is my boy but I'm curious if Piper has more upside.
Automatic Shotguns [such as the combat shotgun] count as automatics and use Commando. Non-automatic shotguns use Rifleman.

Ok somebody please explain this to me.
Why can't we select and give roles to fully 'liked' companions in our settlements? Not only this I can't assign beds to people. Trying to assign beds at the very least but my two fully leveled companions aren't giving me the option to instruct them when I point at them while in settlement mode.
But another companion I didn't level up even once is taking care of food. What gives?
Man I hope I helped the right Art.
One of the best random encounters so far.
Even with 7 CHA there was still a red dialogue option. Curiosity is killing me but that's the best part of the Fallout series. Multiple multiple playthroughs.
and LOL at Muntu's post above.
lol wow, that's great. One thing that irritates me is when you pickpocket raiders and take the fusion core, after you deal with them the frame still says "steal'![]()

Whats worse is not knowing who is assigned to what. A simple prompt when highlighting a character that says assigned or unassigned would have been a huge help.
Man, as someone who runs through NV every year and 3 every other, I am just not having fun with this at all
1) i can't beat the boss at lvl 18 at the Castle (Independence mission)
2) randos kill me easy. Especially if they're mutants
3) i have zero interest building settlements though the game feels like it's punishing me for not doing so by a) making it hard for me to find first aid and b) having enemies attack and kill settlers
4) i have no idea what to do in general. The fun in Exploring is moot when I'm dying out there. I have strong guns i randonly found (gamma) but am limited in ammo
I'm curious about this as well.
Here's a uh little uh note from our uh... sponsors! Andddd... I'm going to read it... now!
Don't know whether to love or hate the DJ honestly.
Whats considered automatic? Any thing that shoots continually withe trigger held? I have a shotgun with a high rate of fire, but I need to continously tap R2.
I'll do it, thanks.
Also, does anyone know where to find some Cryo ammo? Maybe an arms dealer or something?
