Does anyone know if there's a perk that actually helps with shotgun damage? Does it count as a rifle for Rifleman, or something?

So if you have a main switch you don't need a pylon?
Pylons only extend the range of the generator (it carries the generators charge). You can bypass this with conduits, but wire/copper is consumed with each piggyback, so this should be take into account also.

Basically using pylons is more economical, but again some people hate the aesthetic - especially when building big.

EDIT: just make sure to place your generator as close to your structure as possible if your not using pylons.

What is the downside to scrapping all the little settlements I come across, and just just building what I want in one place using those materials?

Also, can you command settlers to transfer to other settlements?

I feel like I might of ruined the economy. It's not quite an exploit but I found out online that [Crafting and Caps Spoiler]
Industrial Purifiers are insane. I had 10 of them and they produced about 250 to 300 Purified Waters every couple of days, which translates to an easy 2000 to 3000 caps.

I think a point comes in every Bethesda game where you realize all the money you've been saving up isn't actually worth buying a whole lot. All I've been doing is buying alot of adhesives and aluminum. Maybe there's stores in the south with stuff worth buying.

On another note, my BoS storyline is completely shot to pieces, since one of the mission triggers just fails to load. Specifically
the Show No Mercy quest where the vertibird I'm supposed to go in is just missing, and the pilot is actually standing in the ocean.
Hopefully this gets patched, alongside all the disappearing companions problems too.

We doing weapon comparisons now? :p

Main Sniper. Slow fire rate, but better damage.
AT79NuY.jpg

Semi-automatic fire rate, double magazine, but slightly less damage.

Still need to find a double damage combat shotgun, that would be absolutely nuts.

Also found a revolver that deals an extra 50 radiation damage, but I don't use pistols.

Lol. Damnit. I made 2 generators and a pylon all beside each other because I didn't know wtf I was doing. Oh well

Thanks!

currently the only way is to hover over the settler and see what resources in your settlement get highlighted as well. Yes it's a terrible mechanic when they aren't near their resource.

Geese that's beyond stupid. How in the world did they think this settlement idea was a good one without some sort of menu commands and overview.

Is there a way to turn player voice acting off? It's really pulling me out of the game. The VA is generally just awful.

It's silly -- unless it's something that the gun can just have "none" of (like the muzzle), you have to build something to replace it with before you can put the mod into a different gun. So if you find a gun with an awesome receiver but not much else, you have to build a basic receiver, replace the good one with the basic one, and then insert the better mod into your gun of choice. The game REALLY needs an option to just dismantle a gun into its mods when you scrap it.

Awesome thanks. I'll have a play around soon.

So sneak 4 and high Agi break the ai. I can sneak in power armor during broad daylight to within a few feet of the target. As they face me.

Finds a squad of Super Mutants lead by a Legendary who's carrying a legendary ranked laser musket with 25% extra damage perk. Kills , loots, and proceeds without quicksaving and then killed by a landmine. Loads nearest autosave before the encounter and finds that bloatflies have taken their spot. *Cries* Goodbye, legendary laser musket. It was nice have you in my inventory for all but 2 mins. UGH

That happened to me as well. I don't remember if I had a gun out at the time or not. Also thought I junked it but it's a Misc Item I believe so I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that happen.

Oh crap, he actually attacked me because I was carrying my gun? I do think I had it equipped yeah. I greeted him and soon he decided it was time to kill me, it ended with him turning into scrap heap.

I LOVE how your flashlight from the Pipboy aautomatically gets disabled if you wear a helmet that has a light on it. Right now I am wearing a mining helmet and this actually looks like a proper flashlight, unlike the one on the Pipboy. May not sound like a big thing, but I do like a proper flashlight in my games.

Roaming the Glowing Sea in my X-01 armour and wrecking stuff with my flaming sword and power sledge is so satisfying. Was just gonna beeline for my quest objective but I got sidetracked for 3 hours.

I've played maybe 8 hours and probably 6 of those have been dismantling garbage in Sanctuary and trying to build a wall around the settlement as well as a new building. Both the wall and the house look like they've been built by a 5 year old. Is there a way to connect wall pieces together in anything but a straight-line? And how do you deal with un-even terrain? I'm trying to make Sanctuary a fortified location but to be honest these walls are so sketchy it doesn't feel very safe.

Good to know. I'm just starting out and was worried stealth would be useless. On Survival mode and I'm getting wrecked a lot, even when I'm in power armor. Some flying insect comes around and basically one-shots me. Then a legendary dog chases me down and I'm dead. Haven't been able to develop or find any suppressors so one shot and I've got all nearby enemies on alert. Will keep going for that stealth build then if it gets awesome eventually.

Btw how do you get Dogmeat to stop following you? He's pretty useful right now but pretty soon I want him gone so he can stop breakiny my attempts at stealth and getting in the way when I'm trying to loot.

Ok somebody please explain this to me.

Why can't we select and give roles to fully 'liked' companions in our settlements? Not only this I can't assign beds to people. Trying to assign beds at the very least but my two fully leveled companions aren't giving me the option to instruct them when I point at them while in settlement mode.

But another companion I didn't level up even once is taking care of food. What gives?

I hate what they did to Power Armor in this game. It is supposed to be this rare and unique thing that gives you a big advantage. Instead everyone and their mother has a suit and there is no Power Armor Training required.

Whats worse is not knowing who is assigned to what. A simple prompt when highlighting a character that says assigned or unassigned would have been a huge help.

Man I hope I helped the right Art.

One of the best random encounters so far.

Even with 7 CHA there was still a red dialogue option. Curiosity is killing me but that's the best part of the Fallout series. Multiple multiple playthroughs.

and LOL at Muntu's post above.

I didnt help :P I didnt know who was who so i just watched them fight it out.
Best Art won.

what the FUCK.

you cant stash, transfer, trade or DROP the
Silver Shroud
costume and hat. Shit weights 8kg total >_< Stupid ghoul

edit: wait my bad, the quest isnt over, being the
Silver Shroud
is actually part of the quest, I thought it was just some new type of "activity" I could do

About 11 hours in and this game is awesome. I got lost in Boston doing a bunch of side quests. Just got to
Goodneighbor
. Having trouble deciding whether I just want to roam around to see more of the map or focus on completing sidequests.

My armor hoarding is getting out of control. I need to find me a new shed.
lol wow, that's great. One thing that irritates me is when you pickpocket raiders and take the fusion core, after you deal with them the frame still says "steal' :( On PC I've been fixing that with ` setownership, I wish I didn't have to do that, kinda ruins the immersion.

People give Bethesda waaaaay too much shit for writing. Some of the characters in this game are golden. N
ick Valentine
in particular. Best Fallout companion ever.

I love the general atomics galleria, such a bizzare area lol.
I feel like there should be a quest here though, unless I just haven't found it yet. I managed to persuade the leader instead of getting an ID, and that opened up the ability to barter with everyone. Was kinda disappointed with what they had in stock. Also beat the crap out of The Champ lol.

Man, as someone who runs through NV every year and 3 every other, I am just not having fun with this at all

1) i can't beat the boss at lvl 18 at the Castle (Independence mission)

2) randos kill me easy. Especially if they're mutants

3) i have zero interest building settlements though the game feels like it's punishing me for not doing so by a) making it hard for me to find first aid and b) having enemies attack and kill settlers

4) i have no idea what to do in general. The fun in Exploring is moot when I'm dying out there. I have strong guns i randonly found (gamma) but am limited in ammo

1) I'm level 30 and I haven't even done that yet, no reason to rush it.

2) Explore for better weapons.

3) The only downside for not building settlements is the lack of consistent income and place to store stuff.

4) Stick to the north west, expand to north-center first. If you're looking around Castle at that level you're going to get shit on.

I'm only 6 hours in but I already feel like I'm never going to be satisfied with any of my equipment. Modding just makes every single thing I pick up worth keeping for the sake of resources and the possibility of building it better.

Finished the Brotherhood questline. Almost thought that the final quest would only consist of
following the robo, watching him doing awesome and screencapping his quotes
. Saved before "The Molecular Level" to save some time, since now I'll throw myself onto all the sidestuff.
