I am honestly astonished that I haven't had one single crash in the game yet. I've played around 30 hours already while in New Vegas or 3 I would get a crash in the first 5 hours or so.

I'm playing on Survival difficulty and I have to have well over 12 hours active play time in and I'm pretty sure I haven't come across a single legendary enemy. My girlfriend played a couple hours on normal and ran into one. What gives?

I think some are pre-determined in certain locations no matter the difficulty. I could be wrong.

Well yes righto. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my points on the wrong thing :P

Well, to be clear, I dont work for Bathesda, im just assuming :D

I mean there are sniper specific perks too so...

What determines how many action points a single shot of a weapon uses in VATS? I can't figure out why one rifle can only get 3 shots in VATS while a rifle with the exact same
ROF gets 5 shots.
Does it have something to do with equipment weight? I switched some mods on my rifle and it went from 4 shots to 3 shots, where the only negative stat that increased was weight. Well, that and some hip fire accuracy I guess. I only went from a reflex aim to a short scope though.

That would be crazy, I'm on the normal difficulty and run into one or two with every group of enemies.

Lmao. I love that Bethesda put this in. This is probably the 5th post like this that I read.

And no, it's not possible. Why would you want 200 year old food anyway? :p

Replying to your post again. So apparently it is possible! Someone on the fallout subreddit actually managed to get one out. I tried like 30 times then gave up. Pretty cool, haha. Also supposedly your luck attribute increases its chance of picking it up.

Wish you could change the color of the power armor HUD. I predict this will be a mod some time in the future.

Yesterday I wanted to mod my sniper into a .50 Cal. I needed all the resources and a "Gun Nut"-perk level 3.
I then realised that you have to be level 25 to actually unlock this perk. I'm level 21....

What's everyone's average weight? I'm struggling with being 246/265 or close to that. Makes looting hard. I use Dogmeat too but might have to get the perk...

Alright so I've progressed in the main quest to the point where I'm supposed to travel to
the Glowing Sea
but everyone is talking all about how I'll need some crazy rad protection. Given that I still have trouble with any more than 4 or so enemies at a time and am about level 12, is there any place someone can suggest I check out for quests or equipment that will help me at this point? I feel like I'm gonna get slaughtered if I continue any further, but exploring in FO4 is something I haven't done much of.

I'll take this one
you will encounter some fairly hard stuff on the way, I've just done it at level 17 and it wasn't hard until I came across a deathclaw. I'd suggest you go explore and find some nice weapons before you go. You don't need rad X or anything if you use power armour and the weapons you'll get with the brotherhood of steels first couple of missions

Yep! Also counts for shotguns, and energy / laser rifles. Basically it's awesome.

Ahah!

Good to know since they just start appearing for me.

Is there any point of modding any regular laser rifle tho, since the very first BoS mission gives you a legendary laser rifle that you can also mod at the end, heh.

Now I am at 255 with Piper around for extra stuff. I just ignore everything that gives me only steel/wood--this policy helps quite a bit, heh.

without junk, about 150.
Lone Wanderer is very usefull if you are always running with Dogmeat anyway. And you could put pockets on every piec of your clothing, helps with weight. I'm at 310 with Lone Wanderer perk and a few pockets and feel it's enough for now.

210 is my max and I'm getting along fine. Just store any junk you pick up ASAP, only carry two or three weapons max, don't pick up other weapons and armor or just immediately try to break it down.

In New Vegas it was way harder to manage you weight limit since ammo had weight, here it's easy.

When I'm fresh from dumping all my junk and loot off my weight is right around 110.

I use 4 guns (2 hunting rifles being the heaviest at around 15 each, a combat shotty and a 10mm), a melee sword, full set of combat armor and aid.

You must be using a lot of heavy weapons to be at that weight constantly... Or you're a terrible pack rat maybe?

This game is strange. It clicked with me in a way games havent since the Souls games. I actually find a lot of similarities between them.

Both are janky as shit. Both dont explain most of their systems. Both look competent but not amazing.

...both barely have any story (lol I kid I kid), and both are games that I honestly have a hard time recomending for various reasons. And yet I cant stop playing them long after I should be done with them, nor can I stop thinking about them when I'm not playing. They are games that, for me, are not the sum of their parts like other games might be.

Like I said the other day, I dont think its the game of the year, but its easily MY game of the year.

This is great.

So...what's the fastest way to get Piper to love you?

Ugh, I have spent over an hour trying to find where I sent my detective pal :( I don't remember which settlement it was (I have like 10) and every time I ring my bells, when everyone finally comes he isn't there...

I have checked his house in Diamond City but he isn't there. I didn't even want to send him away, I had to because that Paladin guy wanted to come with me on a mission.

Is there really no other way to see where companions are? Bethesda didn't think that through... at all. Ugh!!!!

I love the game, but I really hope this is the last game they make with this engine. It's sharp and sometimes looks nice - but usually looks like a game from 5 years ago.

I'm pretty sure legendary weapon abilities function for NPCs wielding the weapon. Some Mirelurks attack settlement #9, and the lone guard with the Kneecapper laser fucked them up.

can someone tell me why strong always dislikes when i lockpick or hack a terminal? What does he want me to do instead?

Aslo speaking of him, what weapon did you guys give him? Ive equipped him with grognars axe, but im not sure if i should give him a rifle..

Also, is it me or can he carry way more stuff then the other companions? Ive dropped a complet set of power armor, a fatman together with other weapons and ridicoulus amounts of garbage onto him and hes still happy to take more.. Awesome.

So I have my small settlement in Abernethy Farm, and one in sanctuary. How do I make supply lines? I have the local leader perk.

Click RB to assign someone and it keeps saying "you can't assign this person

Also happy with sanctuary even though I've not fenced it off yet but built on red rocket as well but shouldnt have as it was a waste of resources.

After stashing everything unnecessary in Red Rocket (there's a container for every-bloody-thing) and a bit of a gun cull, I'm now down to 180/230. 260 if I'm using Pocketed armor. I can never mod anything on the fly, which is unfortunate.

Before the Great Mass Stash of 2015, I think I was sitting at 215 all the time, it was awful. I don't have a mini-gun or a Fat Man on me, either.

People need to stop stressing about carrying capacity.

1. Take Strength.
2. Take carry perks.
3. Wear power armor.
4. Mod your armor with pockets.
5. Pile stuff onto your companion/dog.
6. Stow stuff in a random container. Come back for it later.

and

7. There's way too much junk in the world, and limited uses for it. It makes more sense to note to loot what you need. Use the marking function.

Pffft, no. This looks like a five year old engine with some graphical improvements.

But yeah, I do agree they need a new engine.
