I'm guessing the only reason to order it is to just get a $5 coupon eh? I remember backorders on clearance games not working out well

Picked up the Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle from SDM this morning for $249.88. Had been waiting some time for sale, and figured that the bundles are unlikely to get much cheaper in the future, especially with our poor dollar.

Had been hoping to pick up the 3D World bundle (to have a physical copy, because of reasons), but no stores around had it in stock, and I haven't seen one in the wild for some time now. My anecdotal evidence from this morning at 8 AM suggests that the PS4 and Wii U consoles sold out immediately.
$250 is pretty good. I got the 3DWorld+NintendoLand bundle from SDM at the same price. Though I also got 20x points which was sweet.

I'm in for the Splatoon+Smash Bundle, even with only 18,500 as the bonus. We've been waiting on getting a second Wii U so we can play Splatoon together and this is undoubtedly the best deal we'll find.. effectively getting the game for free.

Most stores in Ottawa seem to have a plethora. I can always cost plus shipping one or two of them to fellow Gaffers if anyone is interested.

Which one did you go to? I've been to the Merivale one recently but after their renovations I'm not even sure they have an electronics section anymore.

Got back from Best Buy. Last copy of launch EOU2 at $23, oh goodness. I love you GAF

They didn't have Project Mirai and I wanted to try my luck for Devil Survivor 2: RB but they didn't have it either. They said they'll have it shipped to store and to ask for a raincheck on the sale price. Dunno if that'll help since I've never done that before.

Edit: Nevermind, checked reservation guidelines and the associate was supposed to help me out at customer service instead of going over to gaming section and getting the items from there. Called and they do have my Project Mirai (and probably EOU2 as well). What a waste of time.

Wait, is DS2 also on sale in-store? Speaking of which, how can we find out what games are on sale in-store only?

I didn't know if DS2 was on sale so I wanted to ask but they didn't have it in stock. As for what's on sale in-store, the only thing I could do is ask but the associate helping me out didn't know much.

Also I double checked my receipt and it only says I was charged for Project Mirai (reg 34.95 with -@$13.98 off). I don't see EOU2 on it, which I remember showing up at $39.99 before 40% off.

Edit: Checked the site for Devil Survivor 2: RB and it doesn't even exist there. Uhhhh ok BBy

Oh, I see. DS2 is a good bet, though, as I think it's even older than EO2. Might give it a shot since it's one of the few Atlus games I don't have.

According to BestBuy's stock checker, there's no Legend of Legacy in all of Montreal... Is their website always accurate with in-store stock?

Wow, I was curious about whether the Best Buy 40% off clearance deal was still on today (to see if there was anything worth ordering for ISPU). Was surprised to see that they'd jacked up the "clearance" prices on at least a couple of games.

I placed a web order Friday and games like Alien Isolation and Ryse (on XB1) were both $10 -- today they list at $20. Shady.

I believe that may have to do with Quebec's laws and the booklet being printed in only English. Not sure if we even got any in store.

I don't think so. Many of the other "english-only" games are available in-store, and Legend of Legacy can be found elsewhere in Quebec according to their stock tracker, just not in Montreal... The fact that the website blocks you from ordering those games online is plain stupid and a misinterpretation of the law, as those games can be ordered on Amazon and co. and even bought in brick-and-mortar best buy stores.

Noticed this as well. Really strange behavior as some of these games have been at these prices for months. The good part of this is though, is it makes SCOP quite likely on these titles. The stores I visited yesterday all had the pre-price hike tags still up.

Did you ask the store itself to check their inventory? You can usually find a hidden copy somewhere with it, it's far more accurate than the website.

And one store can check the inventory of the whole city. :)

Ohhh, that's good to know... Thanks!

Something strange happened with my Mobile Data with Fido. My Android Data usage feature is always (after 2 years) accurate within 2 Mb from the data consumption seen in the Fido app. I only have 300 Mb so I am VERY careful with how I spend my data. Yesterday morning Fido texted me to say that I was at 90% of my data usage (293 Mb) while my Android Data usage sits at 118 (which makes sense considering my usage). I even looked at the Wireless data consumed in the last 2 days ans it's very low.

So, I have a 175 Mb discrepancy between what my phone says and what Fido says. I have to turn off Mobile Data for the next 2 weeks... And I am now paranoid that the same thing could happen in December. The worse part is that even if I will be able to see on which day the data spike occurred once I receive my new bill, I won't be able to know where it's from. I also heard that Fido doesn't give a shit about that kind of thing and always blame your phone... Ever happened to anyone else? :/

I reserved The Evil Within for $4.52 or $4.92, and when I got there they said it would be $13.92. Price change in 20 minutes has to be a new record! Trying to get the original price didn't end up working, but hey, still not a bad price.

happened to me with legend of legacy today. when it got rung up on the register it came to 33 to 34 dollars, and reassured me that it was the correct and final price, so i opted not to get it. It wasn't the launch edition anyways, so it wasn't a total loss

Do you send/receive a lot of MMS messages? That might not show up in the Android Data usage menu, but could count as data used within the month by the carrier (not sure about Fido specifically).

Edit: I go through all my apps and set the data to restricted unless I know I need it, but it sounds like you are pretty careful already about usage. I have a pretty low monthly data amount so I also have to be careful.

Thanks for the reply! I have set MMS to not download automatically and I only open them if I am on wireless... It's really puzzling.

Wow, fuck. :(

I guess what's basically 2/3 off games as new as these were way too good to last. Seriously, I think all are from September at the earliest right?

And yeah, if LoL got fixed, count on Etrian 2U and Miku to be the same.

Edit: OH WAIT, one thing is that LoL is $35 before the discount though, I remember now, Miku was the same.

Are you SURE that they didn't attempt the discount? As I said, I had that issue with Fantasy Life before. What MIGHT be happening is that the discount no longer applies as they're technically discontinued (.95c) as opposed to clearance (.97c) and that is the main qualification of the discount.

honestly, I'm not sure. there were no other copies on display or in the cage so I couldn't see the price they had it listed at, I could only go on what she told me at the time when she rang it up (she went behind area where all web orders were placed so I couldn't see what she was doing. I took at her word and I can't even remember the exact price she quoted.

I don't really mind, since there are plenty of games on my plate as is, and I can use the money that I would have spent on this towards the Fire Emblem SE if it ever releases in Canada (I still have my backup order from the US though).

Thanks for the Best Buy info. I was able to get Etrian, LoL launch, Far Cry 4 and Metal Gear V for just over 100.

The cashier had to hit total before the price would decrease, and he said that the 3DS games alone would have been over 100 without the discount.

Metal Gear had a price error, so I got lucky there. For some reason one of the copies had the wrong price on it.

Now if I only had the time to play them all...

Tell them to hit f8? Or mention the 40% off clearance.

I checked my receipt and Miku was 34.95 so that was discontinued. But I got the discount on Saturday....

I'm interested in finding a deal for Dishonored: Definitive Edition - PlayStation 4. I am not willing to spend 50 bucks for a poor remake.

I also wanna check out Project Cars for PS4, but only at a bargain price!

How much was MGSV?
