Fan Favorite PS2 Games Launching on PS4 Tomorrow

These games aren't $40+ used though. I was able to buy all 3 GTA games on original Xbox just a few months ago for around $15.

At 1080p? Also was it a sale? That's a good deal but still not seeing the problem here. 15 is still cheap but I'm sure it can be had cheaper elsewhere. On Android these were 15 bucks forever and vc wouldn't even proceed past ice cream truck mission for many people

Do cheats effect trophies ?

One of the GTA3 trophies suggests you should be cheating... blow up 2000 cars is called "If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'". At least that's how I interpret it anyway.

Have to say GTA3 is playing and looking far better than it ever did on PS2 or PS3. Still disappointed there's no upgrade path from PS2 classics.

Disappointed I don't at least get a discount for owning almost all these on the PS3 already. Kinda want to buy some of these to check out but I know if I wait long enough they'll all be super cheap in a sale or free on PS+.

I'm definitely in for Rogue Galaxy (I love Level 5 games). Not too excited about the others currently, but hopefully more games are coming. I'd love to see Ico and Shadow of the Colossus come this way (I no longer have a functioning PS2, and don't have the games any longer).

I would have liked to see the pricing a little more agressively priced, but a great game for $10 or $15 still isn't worth complaining about, IMO.

So is San Andreas a mess or not? Heard conflicting things.

I've just played an hour of it. Worked absolutely fine.

GTA 3, on the other hand, is a performance mess. With widescreen enabled it struggles to get near 20fps (just captured some footage and ran through duplicate frame counting).

So SA is fine in widescreen? How's the FPS?

Oh god dammit. I thought they made them all wide-screen. Fucking hell. Blarghhhhhh.

Meh Oh well.

Same here. I thought they would make all these widescreen, specially since they were up rendering them to 1080p, I just assumed they would be widescreen. I had to zoom the picture to make it fit.

Probably won't be buying anymore. The framerate of rogue galaxy is pretty shoddy, really stuttery. The visual improvement isn't that striking to me.

How'd you Zoom the picture? With your TV? UGH

So, can't find these on the EU PSN store despite them saying they're up today?

Check new releases without selecting a tag.

Might also be on the front page of the store as an ad, it's the third one on there just after Just Cause 3 in my region (despite the PS2 ad being in a different language lol).

Went and bought GTA III and it looks and plays pretty darn well. I've played through III numerous times but it's always fun to dive back into this game.

Ugh, I blindly bought Rogue Galaxy and if what I'm reading in this thread is true, I don't think I'll be buying anymore more of these.

they changed vice city's soundtrack? are you serious? What the fuck?

The soundtrack to that game was licensed with a $50 game that would be the best selling of that year in mind, not a $15 download of a nearly 15 year old game. It's not feasible to license that much music for $15 alone.

I own SA and VC on PS3, Sucks I cant just download the PS4 versions. Oh well, the PS2 selection was pretty bad on PS3 especially in the UK and the implementation left much to be desired considering it would lock you out of ingame XMB.

if this means we will get a lot more support to move PS2 games over to PS4 then I'm fine with it. Just let me buy Onimusha games, Silent Hill 2&3, Klonoa 2, Project Zero games, Shadow of Rome, Dark Chronicles, Gitaroo Man, SSX games, Outrun C2C, Haunting Ground, Destroy All Humans 1&2, Godhand(again), Bloody Roar 3, Ape Escape games and Mister Mosquito,

Damn what a shame about GTA3's performance, I would've bought it (and VC and SA) if it could at least hold a steady framerate.

Also I don't know why so many are clamoring for widescreen in that old GTA trilogy. All the widescreen setting does in those games is cut off vertical screen real estate, you gain nothing with the widescreen. Unless you're all weird black bar haters and purposely stretch 4:3 content to fill 16:9 screens regardless of misshapen text and UI elements. Even the PC versions didn't have proper widescreen, these are 4:3 games through and through. It's like how Bioshock 1 screwed up its widescreen real estate before the later patch.

Yep. And unless you install the mod fix on the PC versions, widescreen throws the entire game off. Aiming is off a bit, I believe.

Totally makes sense, it's too bad when they licensed the songs for the PS2 there wasn't a clause for future digital releases. Still sucks.

ok, it took about 10 minutes to readjust to the controls but i've fallen for Vice City again. Even without MJ it really does have the GOAT soundtrack, makes driving around so fun (i dont ever want to get out my car haha)

Regret getting SA so much.

I dont see how you guys cant see awful this looks.

Vertical lines through it and blurred double image/trails that cant be turned off

Do you have widescreen enabled on SA and have your screen borders set wrong? (under PS4 settings). It resizes to the PS4 screen border size, it the game supports widescreen.

widescreen was on and filled my screen but it looks noticeably worse like that so I switched to 4:3.

It really is shoddy emulation that has the same problems as psx2. I assumed since sony themselves were handling it....sigh
