Final Fantasy VII PS4 |OT| One last time before the remake

Just
got to Kalm
and going through Cloud's
story about Nibelheim
. So good, this game still has it all these years later <3

just saw this and super psyched, but anyone want to sum up the port so far?

i read a few pages and it sounds like it's basically the same as pc version with sharper text font... the frame rate is good?

answer doesn't really matter haha i'm so psyched to play this once my work settles down next week (god i want to play tonight lol) but curious anyhow while i wait

Man, this x3 Turbo is a godsend for grinding. I usually take 20 or so minutes in the Shinra Building to steal 3 Carbon Bangles and a Hardedge for Cloud. Got it done in 5.

I'm really looking forward to see what the speed running community can do with the cheats enabled. I think the record for this game is 10-ish hours. No reason they can't cut it in half considering that the majority of the time is the long-ass cut scenes.

So have we decided on what the definitive version of this game is yet? This one is attractive for the theme, but the PC version has fixes with mods and the like to make it seemingly better. I can get both, but this one is nice with the usual console plug and playness of it. Thoughts on which I should get?

I like sitting on my couch to play the game. So anything on a PlayStation works for me.

I guess I was mainly talking about the performance, I know the PC version has mods to make everything 60fps and not the usual 15fps or whatever the battle scenes are here. Plus I play PC/console games from the same place so no worries there. I just hate all of these different versions and making a decision lol.

"Cloud, did you steal my underwear?"

This fucking game is just sooooo good.

I can just imagine Cloud sitting there, looking all serious, narrating t
he Nibelheim Incident.

"...And then, I went up to Tifa's room and started searching her drawers. I found some orthopedic underwear, and I took them."

I played until
Fort Condor
in one sitting. Now to sleep and more tomorrow.

I also got everyone's LV3 limit breaks. The speed up feature is nice for grinding.

wait what are the cheats you can use? i was going to buy this game on PC because i heard it had cheats to eliminate the time grinding. are those present on ps4?

Playing through the beginning again, I think this might be my favorite intro and general beginning to a JRPG ever. I think the writing is pretty good too if you forgive any translating errors and such. The game does a really good job at familiarizing you with the characters and making them believable, which I never really thought about. I still love the moment from when Cloud falls into the church to the playground. Might also be tied with FFX as my favorite JRPG soundtrack.

lol

How majestic.

The theme is soooooooo good.

And I'm assuming they added a cheat mode because there will be a tonne of game tourists and that's fine. It's optional so you just need willpower!

FF7 is a treasure

but dont many ff fans consider FF 6 to be superior?

what are your guys opinions on that
This really, really isn't the thread for that. I think there's a specific FF-community based thread meant for these kinds of things :p

Edit: I found it! http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=447963

I apologize before-hand if isn't allowed to talk about rankings and stuff in there - I just assume you can do it.

Listening to that song really makes me want to play the game again, but I really shouldn't.

Haha yeah I feel the same way. I might give in, the only version I played was the EU PS1 version on my Vita so I really should play through it again sometime.

As someone who has never played FF7 before should I buy this now or should I wait for the actual remake to come out?

I think everyone should play ff7 in its classic form at least once in their life time. It isn't because I think it is the best game out there ever made, but because in the future an alien race will banish all who haven't played it to a remote island. Don't let the opportunity to live among an advanced alien race pass you by.
