There are a lot of people who don't get extremely mad at videogames for things like this. No need to get defensive because people called him out over his hyperbolic statements.
Bahamas ZERO is not missable. It can be excavated in Bone Village, but it's very rare.

This theme is great: menu sounds and music! Well worth $11 and you get the remaster pc port for free!
Yeah, it sucks. I did stop noticing it after about an hour, but it's a completely unnecessary change. Original PC font was fine.

I think the issue was more that he was making it into a deal breaking flaw, when most of us are fine with it. It's not imagined, he's 100% correct that the quality isn't as good, but personally, I don't really care- it looks fine when playing, and I'm not going to let it ruin the experience. If others want to let such petty things dictate whether they will play something they would otherwise enjoy, it's totally their prerogative, but no need to try to convince others to think the same way. It seems if the vocal minority aren't shitting on every game, it's not a normal thread around here.

The difference looks like the PS4 version is a bit sharpened but I had to look very hard at it.
I see a slight difference in aliasing and maybe it's less vibrant. I'm not trying to say there isn't a difference, but I'm trying really hard to see. My eyes are probably shit.

Over the years on GAF I've seen people complain about some crazy things. At this point nothing should surprise me. But the people complaining about the filter on the font in this game...I mean... what the hell people??

60+ hours with FFVII, any RPG, you're going to sit through a lot of UI. That should get extra special care and attention.
It's the same game most of us have been talking about for 18 years, so the changes in this version will be of primary concern to some. I don't really care about the font change, I adjusted to it quickly as I said, but it's definitely there and I liked the unfiltered fonts better.
That's not the community. The community is playing the game, that's some crazy person who freaks out about text aliasing.

LMAO I'm playing this on a 70" 4K tv and the text is fine. Whats more annoying is the 4:3 ratio.
Listening to that song really makes me want to play the game again, but I really shouldn't.

PS4 is kinda blurry due to the filtering effect.
Like classic re-release of nes/snes games or on emulator with filters.

So is this confirmed for PS4/PC only? I have it on both so i'm not port begging or anything, was just curious. Since technically in terms of icons they have their work done if they wanted to port to Xbox One. So I was curious if this was perhaps like the FF7R where it's "first on PS4" and could come out later. Couldn't find any info on that.

Man, this x3 Turbo is a godsend for grinding. I usually take 20 or so minutes in the Shinra Building to steal 3 Carbon Bangles and a Hardedge for Cloud. Got it done in 5.

No, the US PS4 ver. has X = confirm and Circle = cancel, with no way of changing it, which is absolutely atrocious to me.

Put me firmly in the "text filter is ugly" camp. I had some other real minor issues with the feel of the PC port, which I imagine are retained in this version. I'll stick with emulating the PS1 game until the end of my days.
