Final Fantasy VII PS4 |OT| One last time before the remake

I wish they would give us a way to set x2 speed or even x1,5. It would greatly improve an already excellent experience!

on the psn store preview, it seems that NPCs don't have a mouth

THEY DON'T! This was the first thing I noticed, having played the PC version last year.
 
anyone know what the missable achievements are? Hate to miss something you need to get and have replay the game to get it. I must platinum this game, and Ive never go for platinums....except uncharted 2

I would've honestly never noticed if I had not seen this comparison and I still don't see the problem.

Oh well, I guess I'm lucky insignificant stuff like this don't ruin games for me.

It's not doing a bad job at all.
It's a filter and not native HD text, you're right. It looks bad? Absolutely not.

But hey it's ok to me if you prefer how the text looks in the original version, in that case play that version or which version you like the most.
For me it looks perfectly good and clean especially when I look at it on my TV.

Corneo choosing CLoud over Tifa and Aeris, Taking Barret as your date at Gold Saucer, Bahamut, Bahamut Zero, and Aeris' final Limit Break (maybe some of the other final limits as well?) and maybe getting the Leviathan materia.

I'm with you. I don't usually go for Platinums, but when I do it's to show support for a great game. Dragon Quest Heroes was the first game I platinumed in years, and I want to do it with FF7 too.

Heh, I couldn't find the game on the Australian store. But clicking on the link someone provided to the EU version automatically redirected to the Australian version. 'Only' $16.45, including the theme as well. Not too bad.

Is that the sale price? In the Canadian store it's regular 15.99 but on sale for 10.87
 
I'm using the 3x speed, because I just played through FF7 when the remake got announced over the summer, it's all still fresh in my mind.
 
I was going to buy it at some point anyway, but after seeing and hearing the theme I instantly bought it. Now I'm obliged to play through it. Which is fine, but I just bought FFX/X-2 last week -_-'
 
So 90 seconds away from the download finishing and I'm 31 and have never played this game. Going in blind let's see what all the fuss was about.
 
Been gaming since 1980, own pretty much every console released in the US, but have never played a FF game. Bought this and looking forward to it!!

I mentioned it earlier in the thread, and I'm right with you. It doesn't look good. It's amazing to me that people respond not with "oh, well, that doesn't bother me" or "I like the new way" (both of which are reasonable, although the latter troubles me similarly to when people say they like HQ2X on SNES games) but instead trying to discredit you or somehow attempt to prove that the issue is imagined. News flash: criticism is normal, and it isn't going to kill you if someone has a different opinion than you do. If you disagree with the criticism, guess what? That's okay. It doesn't mean you have to get defensive -- nobody is attacking you, unless you're so far gone that your personal identity is wrapped up in what other people think of one aspect of a PC->PS4 port of Final Fantasy 7.

Thanks for this post. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't give a shit if a game runs at 20fps or 60, but this is the kind of thing that would drive me absolutely insane. Like, completely crazy.

I'll avoid this.

Im 100% certain the PC version had this feature in the game's menu. You're telling me the PS4 version still has circle as confirm and X as cancel with no way of changing it?

Also what's this about pressing R3 to cheat? Is it true there's no option to disable it???

L3 is 3x speed (Turbo Mode), R3 is Max HP/MP/Limit Gauge, L3 + R3 is No Random Battles.

No way to "turn them off" other than just not clicking the sticks in and enabling them in the first place. They're set to a toggle.

I hate having the temptation one button click away... or one accidental click away. There should be an option to disable.
 
Guys....guys

I booted up my PS4 today and forgot I had the FF7 theme set and was hit in the gut with the emotions all over again.

Best. Theme. Ever.

Like others have said, worth the purchase by itself.
 
Is it safe for a first time player (me) to be in this thread? Or are there spoilers everywhere?
