Go play Kingdom Hearts games and FFXIII-2 and Dot Hack.
Those were sequels, not episodic content for the same game though

this makes way more sense than doing a full on remake with all that effort that was looking like it would have. this way you don't have to do a huge mega overworld all at once, or even at all. it can just hit the key points of the story, walking dead season one style.

Now that seems like an interesting take on it. They could develop the overworld, and make it so that over time it evolves and new areas and stories / continuation of the main story are accessible from it. That makes sense, I have doubt that's how it'll play out, but it makes sense.
And people were worried about the game's battle system.
"ACTION? NOOO, PLEASE, I CAN'T TAKE NEW THINGS!!!"
"ATB? WHAT IS THIS? THE 90's?!!"
Now the game is episodic. OH MY GOD
I can't believe this is happening.
How often do episodic games really do this?
Just like Half-life

For the materia system you really need the overworld map to level up all the materias. Also "with each entry providing its own unique experience" this mean that you can play any part without playing the previous one. Also the Weapons.... i going to cry,What? No. It doesn't mean that at all.
Releasing the game in chunks doesn't mean it will be segmented like one. And like hell that means there won't be materia.
Well, to be fair each episode could be sectioned according to the numbers of CD's in which the original released which means they could still retain the open map but limited just like in the original game =D
Each part at 40.00 ofc =D x 100
Huh. Interesting. They really are taking the "disc" approach eh?A WSJ reporter just tweeted this (read from bottom to top)

And what's amazing is that we know ZERO additional details. It could have been them saying dozens of things.
What you are asking for is a 1:1 remake which would take 10+ years to make, take up 2 dual layer BDs and cost $90.
In FFVII,You don't just get the complete world map and all locations available to you from the get go.
It gradually unfolds.EveryPS1 game did it like that and across discs.
Episodic game can manage it.
Someone at SE: "Quick, show them the Sephiroth footage so they go back to hyped!"
Wait...this changes everything. Maybe. I don't know anymore.A WSJ reporter just tweeted this (read from bottom to top)
Oh wow look exactly what a few of us said. They're fleshing out the game with more side/tangentially related content so they feel like full games.A WSJ reporter just tweeted this (read from bottom to top)
I'm replaying it right now, there really aren't that many towns or bestiary (if you take out reskins. Granted I haven't played 15. I would think 15 has about the same if not more.

Seriously where is this rage stemming from?
Where does it say any of that is gone?
Y'all losing it hard.
GENESIS, GENESIS EVERYWHERE!A WSJ reporter just tweeted this (read from bottom to top)
Agree. WTF is happening here.I don't understand how people can defend it, how the fuck a RPG can be episodic ? what a joke...
You know which game won't be episodic? FFXV.
Back to worshipping Lord Tabata!

So basically like disc 1,2, and 3.
...I thought that meant FF7 remake will be one game but there will be more prequel stuff and post-ff7 stuff that will come out as well. It's not just a one-off. But that's maybe just me.
