Pfff all you boosters should bow down before is who did it legit! Two S-class licenses, got my 3 win within 5/6 races on each char.

My best times are only 4:14 and 4:34...

I did mine without boosting. Just decided to help out others after I had finished up that quest a long while back.

Yes and no. It displays incorrectly so in the post-game it'll say it's maxed but it isn't. You can grab it after you fill all the perks though, which is just one more bubble after it anyways.

Yeah, I usually hold left stick up without thinking about it in racing games so the first few times I did the Venus jump with the perk I kept biting it. Make sure you hold the left stick back on the jump, or don't touch the stick at all on that jump with the perk.

Good lord. I was having no problems with progressing until I needed 1 more 1st place to get S-Class. Now the game has it out for me. Now I can't win a race to save my life. Maybe I will succumb to a boosting match if anyone is still doing it. My heart is pounding from so many close races. It sucks!

Edit: as soon as I say this I win the next race.

I'm doing the best with a Xur-upgraded Sparrow. Seems to have the best overall maneuverability, speed, armor, and boost.

Am I wrong? Is the raid or trick sparrow better?

The skill based MM in SRL means that as your times get better and you win more races then you end up doing worse in more races.

On of my best times on Venus just got me fifth place. I've one that race many many times already.

I like the trick sparrows because emoting for fuel is a lot more consistent than depending on rolls and flips.

I think that's how the exploit worked so maybe? It kept track of your progress even if you had not bought it.

Did you recently unlock the helmet perk that adds tilt control in the air? You might be unconsciously holding up as you jump which tilts your sparrow down, giving you not enough air to land.

Oh, I personally don't think that the matchmaking has anything to do with your SLR rank.

I was winning races just fine yesterday with barely sub five minute times on Venus at SLR rank 2. I started playing better this morning regularly winning several races and getting close to 4:30 second times on Venus... and then all of a sudden I am placing sixth with a 4:35 time on Venus.

I think the MM is independent of your SLR rank, and uses some kind of a skill based formula say using an average of your recent times combined possibly somehow with what places you have come in recently.

Yeah it is fun to have the better competition, but makes it a lot slower to grind slr rank though since you get more rep with placing higher in each race.

But I hate being constantly grouped up with a pack that are bumping each other.
